Took my 2018 Buick Encore in to get a coolant leak fixed. First repair was the water pump and they done an oil change for free which was nice. But my oil was milky and they didn't say anything, which means there was coolant in the system. And I tell them my coolant is still leaking so they finally get the head gasket fixed a second time I had to take it in. Well coolant was still leaking after that, so I fixed it all myself since they couldn't fix it the first couple times. First was a coolant hose had a crack in it, second that brand new water pump they installed the bolts wasn't tight at all and that's where the coolant was leaking through and there was missing bolts, also the water pump gasket looked non existent. So first repair paid $800 for nothing...And when they said they replaced the water pump, they didn't because I had to buy a whole new one. So they didn't do any of their inspections on if it wasn't leaking coolant. And I even asked them and they said yes which they didn't. So the only good thing they did was the head gasket that was about it...$700 wasted. read more

So I called him to see if he could check the car over for me! He took the time to thoroughly check it. Hoses, transmission, brakes, tires, etc! I offered to pay for his time and he wouldn't accept it! He did say the oil and air filter was all that he saw that needed attention. Excellent service. The dealership service department wanted over $600 to change the radiator on my car. And I'd have to leave it overnight. Terry did the job in a couple of hours and it cost half that amount. You won't be sorry. They know their stuff and they're not out to rob their customers. Good people and will do repairs at a good cost, but if you are in a hurry to get your car fixed, turn elsewhere. I did tell them there was no rush, but when I said that, I didn't think it would take them six weeks to even look at it after it got there. And then it took them almost another month to get finished. In that time I managed to get some of my own work done on it while it just sat there. I had to get it towed there also prior to that and that was another two weeks. I am happy with the work but it should not have taken that long for just a starter, a fuel change, a horn, and a motor mount. read more

Brief encounter locking myself out of my car today...Terry's saved me. Arrived quickly, liberated my keys even more quickly, did it with a smile on his face and didn't even make me feel like a dunce for locking myself out. I am your average college student who doesn't have a clue when it comes to cars. I have a 95 ford ranger that I hope to keep for as long as I can. When my "check engine" light came on I looked on Yelp for a good place to go. I first went to a chain auto place where they wanted to charge $85 to plug in the device and read what's wrong (not actually doing anything to fix it). I went back to Yelp and found this place. My daughter is a sophomore at OU, was having an issue with her vehicle. The vehicle was at Jiffy Lube in Norman was told by Jiffy Lube manager that the power steering pump was out as well as the rack and Pinion steering was completely shot. Estimate of $1600. My husband called Terry's auto to get a rough estimate of what they would charge for the same repairs... Terri said it was impossible to "until we saw the vehicle but he was confident he could substantially beat it. Needed to call AAA to make arrangements to move the vehicle to Terrys shop, Terry said it was not necessary, he would send a driver over to pick it up in order to save my daughter the hassle. Turns out it was a bad high-pressure hose... $300. Not only did they locate the actual problem they assisted my daughter in moving her vehicle from Jiffy Lube without needing to call a tAAA tow truck. We will definitely be back to Terry's for the care of my daughter's vehicle throughout her college career. From a mom in California a deep felt thank you for making this process much easier... My Granddaughter goes to OU and has a very used car. It is always needing something done to it. Recently the radiator fan went out and an issue with the A/C. She took it to a dealer and returned with a quote for over $1,000.00 (which included over a $100.00 charge for diagnostics). Just got to Norman to move my daughter in for school & her car starts making a strange noise. I got on Yelp & saw Terry's had all 5 star reviews. There is a reason for that!!! Neil diagnosed the car (alternator-ugh) got the part & had us ready to go in a couple of hours for a reasonable price. I'm so happy we got the car repaired before it left us stranded but I'm also happy my daughter has a "go to" trustworthy mechanic in Norman. Highly recommend!!! read more

I have had the worst experience here. One: We drop it off on a Tuesday and he tells us he will get to it the next week. We do not hear from here ONCE in FIVE, that's right, FIVE weeks. We have to keep calling him, he never called us. Two: At one point, we were told the head was at the machine shop, but there was some racecar show in town, and they wouldn't be able to get to it that weekend. REALLY? Unprofessional. Three: We were initially quoted $800 at most, for the repair of a head gasket. Get there, mind you again five weeks later, and I see the bill says $850. There are two additional things that he changed, and I get it, if it is detrimental to how the car operates then of course I would want that, but did he ever call to ask if these additional charges would be okay? No, he did not. So when he wanted to talk price, I made sure that I would not be paying that much due to the long wait, additional charges, no phone calls, etc. He at first stated that he wasn't going to put my car in front of others. I stated that I never asked, this, that all I asked was for the car to be done when we were told it would be, a week after bringing it in, and if it was going to take longer he could have called. After getting upset, because at this point I am LIVID, he does negotiate the price down. Four: After a few days I notice the amount never came out. He didn't finish the transaction. He can't even get paid right! Five: I drive the car to the first stoplight and it starts missing...I continue to drive it thinking I might be paranoid and it continues to miss. I get home, turn the car off, turn it back on, and the check engine light comes on. My brother-in-law uses some gadget to check it and a couple codes come up. Then, just 2 hours later, after getting gas, it completely dies on me. We call the automotive place back in the morning and he states those same engine codes came up for him...so you let me drive it off the lot knowing that something was wrong. UNACCEPTABLE! That is unsafe, what if my car had died at a light and someone wasn't paying attention? The possibilities are endless for unsafe outcomes that could have happened. We don't take it back that day because they are closed on the weekend. We take it back first thing Monday. We finally find out it is "done" that Wednesday and my brother-in-law and I drive it and it seems to be working fine, with the exception of the check engine light still on because he has to order a part he needs to fix one thing. He states that it won't effect how it drives. He also states he will have the part the next week and will call me (right) to tell me when it is in. Another week and a half goes by, no call, so I call him today. He states the part is in. (Where was my call?) He also states he can't get my car worked on this week. I state that this is an unfinished job so I hoped he would get it in and out...I also state that though he says he can get to it next week I am a little worried because last time I was told that it set there for weeks. Not much response, basically this week has been hectic. I get it, I've had a pretty couple hectic week, hell 2 months with this car shit, I get it man. But, this is just bad business. Oh, he finally did get paid. But, I feel that a full refund wouldn't be too much to ask for with all the hassle, and now I also have to wait for next week to see if things can get fixed...Please, don't believe the reviews, not sure if I'm just one in a bunch but I hope this doesn't happen to ANYONE else. I'm lucky to have relatives that live here that I had alternative ways to get to work otherwise, I would be out a TON of money, which I as a full-time working/part-time college student don't have to dish out on a rental. This is by far the most terrible auto repair shop ever.!!! Do not for any reason take your car here. They are a bunch of fraudsters. With absolutely no idea what they are doing. I have known Terry for 4 years and when it was just him , he used to be honest and treated his clients right but now he has expanded and has employed a guy called Neil who is both extremely rude and terrible at fixing cars. I gave them KIA sportage to change the spark plugs and ignition wires, and he told me it would be fixed in 24hrs, they ended up taking 10 days to fix the car.When I went to pick up my car it had a developed a loud chugging sound that was never there before. Terry told me this sound will go away if i drive it for a while that it was normal , so i did drive it for a few days but the sound only got worse. I took the car back for him to fix it and this time he kept my car for 27 DAYS!!!!! and still did not fix the car. Each time I call to find out whats up with my car, he always had one excuse or the other, on one occasion, his assistant was very rude and cut the call on me. I Had to take my car to Kia dealership to have it fixed and i am in the process of suing him to court as he caused more damage to my car after "fixing" it read more
