I have a reward card with Ace Hardware and purchase frequently as we are building our home and it's pretty much only hardware store around. I went there today for potting soil. There was a reward for a percentage off on my app. Great, went to check out and I can't use it because I was told by cashiers Ace won't make money on the item. Not sure if that's really true, I don't know but if I have a reward, it's because it's earned for frequent shopping in the store, but any reward you get you can't use them on sale items. That's dumb, seems like many things are on "sale", yet the prices are still high! I wish we had a Lowe's/Home Depot in Pagosa Springs. They have lost my business and will travel to Durango from now on for items. read more

Some of the worst customer service ever. I went looking for one fence picket- went straight to the garden center to ask the guy in that department- no we don't have that so he sent me to the other side of the store- saw a lady there- she sent me back to to the garden center where the guy sheepishly let me out in the yard to grab my picket. I needed the picket for its use as a 5/8 piece of wood- not as a fence piece- she sent me to the so called "helpful hub" where this guy was going to measure to make sure it's 5/8 (which I was 90% sure it was just by looking at it) he goes "that ain't no 5/8" I go "oh really what do you think it is?" He says "less than half an inch" hahaha! Then as he's measuring it some other dude comes over his shoulder- takes the tape and says " it's more than 5/8" at this point I know it's 5/8 (not more- not less) so I took the board and left- when I got home it was perfectly 5/8" of an inch. It was actually laughable if it wasn't so annoying. The guy was a strange combination of rude and completely clueless that had me kinda baffled- anyway we don't have much choice here in Pagosa so I thought I'd give people a heads up about their so called customer service read more

Absolutely horrible store. Couldnt get a refund without getting mocked only to discover the cashier wasn't trained. was followed by owner who took my license plate number only because I decided not to buy what I was looking at. Great store. Lots of fun stuff to look at. Very friendly and helpful workers EXCEPT the young gal with piercings. She is very much a disappointment and either needs training or a different job because she is NOT helpful or friendly like the others. Rating low because they use the Ace system, they look up your rewards, they see your info...BUT if you have coupons on your acct and or Military registered and verified on your acct they do NOT take it at their store. Stopped by and bought some furniture. 15 minutes till closing and I hear over their walkie-talkie wondering, whose truck is parked out front. The lady quoted us a price only to find out it was wrong. They started turning off lights, rushed us out. The whole staff was extremely rude and unprofessional . As we were loading up our furniture in our truck. They locked the door, flipped the sign, they also locked the three entrance gates to the parking lot. I tried calling the store to figure out how we are supposed to get out of the parking lot and of course no one would answer. I do not recommend this place. Especially to buy furniture. read more

I'm sorry but in my opinion they do not take care of their customers. I have spent thousands of dollars here remodeling 2 properties over the past year. I bought some wooden trim pieces and purchased extras because they told me I could bring back full pieces if I did not need them all. When I went to return them, they would not allow the return. Wood was brand new, with stickers etc. but it was sprinkling outside and a few of the boards were slightly damp. I offered to wipe them off. They would not credit my account. We went here in need of fishing licenses. We had an awful awful awful lady cut in line, demand she be helped first, changed her mind multiple times on what she needed and made the workers overall job difficult. I have called Ace Hardware my favorite store to shop, for Years! But after today, I no longer see how I should proceed, with my most recent visit a total embarrassment. I've always enjoyed the friendly employees that are so Eager to help, but I'm not sure why today, an employee looked for every reason NOT to help me. What's more is the employee was a manager. My father purchased a memory foam type beds here from Terry's furniture department. The memory foam didn't return to its' normal position. It stayed in the form of where your body was making it very lumpy and painful to sleep on. When we contacted Terry's place about honoring the warranty he failed to be helpful in any way whatsoever. Rude would be a fair word to use in explaining how we were treated. We tried contacting the bed manufacturer. They had gone out of business. Just to bad for us with the lack of customer service from this place. Had to throw the bed in the trash. That it where Terry's belongs to with how he treats customers! read more
