With some exceptions, he is not married to preconceived ideals or therapeutic schools of thought. Balances emotional and intellectual approaches. Highly focused on the value of client-therapist relationship. Challenges his clients to grow and improve themselves, not just wallow. At no time have I felt either patronized or threatened. Behaves and converses for the most part like a real person from whom you are seeking practical advice, feedback, or a listening ear, and less like the stereotypical couch therapist. I have had poor experience with a variety of different types of therapists/ therapy in the past and came to him with a thinly-veiled substantial bias against them.
