Preamble-It's so hard to write a review like this one because ultimately, I think it's important people are aware of what to expect before they book here, because we were not prepared. That said, I also really want these folks to be successful in their business here, I just don't know that we were the population they were hoping for when they built their business model. We have stayed at B&B's all across the country, and have had great experiences and not great experiences, just like hotels, resorts and other stay options. I chose this one because of its beautiful setting and convenient location on our trip up to WA from CA. Initially, we had some confusion due to the owners texting us a week early and I was worried this may have impacted our stay, but we checked back with them closer to our reservation and everything was ok. When we arrived, we marveled that the location was gorgeous, easy to find, and conveniently located in walking distance to downtown. We made our way to the door and were greeted by James and Gail, who gave us a brief tour to our room and gave us a moment to put our things down. Once I made my way back downstairs, that's when it started to unravel. I had just sustained a concussion just a few days before we arrived so I was pretty sound-sensitive. James insisted he give us an excruciatingly detailed tour of the house to include a lengthy stay in the music room where he turned the music up so high, I almost vomited. I made my way out to excuse myself, and this left him visibly upset. I tried to loop Gail in on my condition, trying to smooth things over and not to step on my host's toes. This caused some issues. James apparently had a "set program" that he was used to doing with all the guests and not following his steps was frustrating him. James and Gail had a terse conversation about how I physically could not participate and it just didn't matter, he was visibly upset/mad. Gail did try her best to pick up and gently guide the tour outside and look at the house, but it was clear things were weird. We found a reason to excuse ourselves for dinner and James tried to invite himself to go with us, but Gail reminded him we had our own plans. We walked to dinner downtown, and it was refreshing to stretch our legs after an 8-9 hour drive, and to get some time away from the B&B. It was interesting that we were used to B&B's having more than one guest at a time but here, it was just us and them which was more intensity than either of us were wanting or had the bandwidth to really manage. When we got back, we retired early. The room itself was nicely appointed but I was not aware ahead of time that the bathroom was not attached. In order to get to the bathroom, you had to walk past Gail and James's room, and all the floors creaked like a massively loud horror film and made me really uncomfortable as a person who has a tiny bladder. We also felt like the room was uncomfortable in its temperature and we couldn't get it to change so we were sweltering and humid all night. Additionally, the bathroom was on a timer for the light which was OUTSIDE of the bathroom. I forgot about this and while washing my hair in the super tiny shower, suddenly all the lights went out and I was showering in the pitch black. Not great, and really not great with a concussion. In the morning, Gail made us Dutch baby pancakes and it seemed they were in much higher spirits than the day before. We ducked out early to avoid any other potential chaos, and to get back on the road. While processing our stay, we remarked we both felt like awkwardly unwelcome surprise guests at a distant senior relative's house, and that we were under surveillance during our stay. We were uncomfortable the whole time and couldn't wait to get out of there. If we had been informed about the whole "process" expected by James, and were staying there with intent to hang out with the owners, our trip would have been very different. It felt more like a rented room than a B&B, other than the breakfast which was the highlight of the stay. That said, we did not enjoy almost every other part of this stay, outside the delightful Gail who truly did her best and we liked her immensely. Overall, this was not for us, and if we were in the area again, sad to say we would stay elsewhere.

After being on the road for hours, we approached the hotel, I literally said "I hope this isn't our hotel." It was. We arrived and immediately noticed the extremely run down, dated, and dirty building. The grounds have not been well kept whatsoever. My son and I both felt uneasy. We made our way to the lobby to check-in and I instantly had a pit in my stomach once I saw the front desk guy, Johnny. There was something about him that seemed so unnerving. My son tightly held my hand and we took our place in line. In front of us was a very sweet older gentlemen and the way Johnny spoke to him made me instantly want to just turn around and walk out. The older man said "no, thanks! I won't be needing that!" And Johnny gave him a nasty look and shoved the card towards him while saying "ummm this is your key." The old man said "oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was the WiFi code." With a blank stare. I could tell the older man felt embarrassed. It was our turn and we approached Johnny, still feeling uneasy. He glared at my son and I was so confused. I seriously was like "what the hell is going on around here?!?" I told Johnny we were checking in. He was unbelievably rude and treated me like I was unintelligent and like I was his greatest inconvenience, which I found to be quite funny and was mostly just confused while having a "there's no way this is actually happening" thought. He asked us if we wanted a room upstairs or downstairs, my son excitedly said "upstairs, please!" He ROLLED HIS EYES at my son. Gave us a room downstairs. Why did he even ask?!?!? I saw my son physically cower and looked at me for help. At this point, I'm becoming extremely frustrated and want to find a way out. I was LIVID and said "great. So helpful." As I walked away. He said to the rest of the guests in line "what did that b***h just say to me?!?!" We picked up our pace because he seemed so out of control, I was genuinely afraid he would come after us!!! I take my key and we walked hesitantly to our room. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it looked NOTHING like the photos. Small, cramped, dirty, dust on the curtains, stains on the floor. The bed squeaked when my son sat on it, the bathroom was microscopic, and the toilet was stained yellow. The curtains were so thin, I could see people staring at us as they walked by!!! I did not take pictures because I didn't even want to sit down!! At this point, I knew we had to get out of there. My son was exhausted and became emotional while telling me he didn't feel safe there. We finally found another place to go and bravely made our way back to the front desk. I calmly told Johnny that we didn't feel safe and I'd like a full refund. Thankfully, he gave me the full refund, but someone I assumed to also be working there came into the lobby soaking wet from the pool with no shirt on and said "what's her problem????" Right in front of us. Johnny said "she doesn't feel safe" in a mocking and condescending tone. We quickly got to our car and left. This is probably the biggest case of false advertising that I have ever seen!!! The lobby looks NOTHING like the pictures. They tried to make the lobby seem spacious and clean, it was not. By any means. The whole experience was awful. Thank god we were able to find a better hotel. Please please trust me when I say do not go here and do not take your children here!!!!! Especially if you're alone as a woman with small children!!!!

With it being late on a Friday night, I wasn't hopeful that we would find a decent place to stay.. I called the comfort inn and talked with Roman at the front desk. He was so so helpful in finding a room for us. We arrived at the comfort inn and Roman warmly greeted us and got us booked for a room within minutes. He also gave me a 10% discount for all of my trouble!!! Our room is comfortable, clean, and spacious. The grounds are well kept and the customer service is phenomenal. AMAZING price for two nights in a room with a California king. Bathroom looks great as well. We feel safe and secure here, and finally looking forward to a fun weekend!!! Thank you so much, Roman!!!! You had 10/10 customer service and just genuine kindness, which is hard to come by these days.

Right off the bat they had a very friendly down-to-earth registration person, Jill. She was awesome, and also brought to my attention that I could save 10% if I had a Costco card. That brought the price down to some of the two star Yelp choices. Cha-ching! Then we went up stairs to our room. My only complaint is that this building claims to be non-smoking, however the hallway smells like smoke on the third floor (just the hallway, not the room). The room is upscale with lots of plugs and usb ports, 32" tv with HBO, refrig., microwave, closet and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Finally, the pool is closed only between the hours of 2am-5am for adults, the kids must be out by 10:30 ish. The breakfast is the usual assortment. The other nice thing about this location is that Albertsons and Walmart are less than a mile away, just down the street. Very convient highway access too. We will be using this as one of our favorite stops in the future.

It was spotless, including the bathroom, the bed was comfortable. I got a good night sleep. There is a desk that you can do work on if you need to. Instead of being in front of the bed, the TV was off to the side of the bed. It was on a swivel, so you could turn it toward the bed, but it would've been much better where you would normally see the TV. It did get a good number of cable TV channels and it had a good picture. There was a microwave and the fridge, and the Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but still fast enough to stream video. Plugs are a bit limited, to be able to charge my gear next to the bed, I had to pull the nightstand away from the wall, a couple of inches and unplug the alarm clock Breakfast was great. Waffles, fruit, coffee, juice, and they also had eggs, sausage, and even biscuits and gravy. The food was hot, and it was good. I paid for the room with points, but on a Friday night at the end of July, the going rate was around $125 a night. For all you get, it's a reasonable price. I would stay here again. Thank you!
