The location of the flats is in the heart of Roseburg-- with eclectic and vibrant restaurants and shops surrounding it. Parking was extremely easy to find and the door to the flats was also so easy to find. Upon entering into the flats, you are greeted with a darling brick wall with framed photographs of the "Bell Sisters," whom the flats are named after. It was so fun to see the history of them-- it made the stay that much more special! We stayed in the "Minnie" flat and it was thoroughly exceptional. The kitchen/living room was much larger than I was expecting, with ample room to move around and enjoy the space. We couldn't decide if the bathroom or the bedroom were our favorite of the spaces-- with the most spectacular shower (or should I say shower room, considering how many shower heads there are). The sheets in the bedroom were to die for-- simply feeling like pure softness on your skin. What really made our stay feel so special and so romantic were the personal touches that the owners put on it-- including a heart on the bed with rose petals and a personal note, a lovely bottle of locally made wine that was chilling in the fridge, and delicious chocolates. Staying here on our wedding night made our entire day that much more special. If you are getting married in Douglas County or just looking for a romantic, luxurious stay, I could not recommend the Bell Sister Flats more! We cannot wait to come back.

Near enough to Oakridge in case you need to get anything in town (less than 10 minute drive). 4. Multiple cabins and a yurt available in case you want to rent multiple units for a large group or family event. 5. Large natural spaces available to hang out, plus two friendly tired dogs providing some company (Simba and Max). 6. Also full kitchens in the cabins making it great to cook. Plus free farm fresh eggs! 7. With so many trees, it stayed pretty cool in the heat (upper 80's). Cons: 1. We stayed in the Cowboy Cabin which had maybe a little too many knick knacks, making it difficult to spread out. I felt like I was moving things often to have a little more room. 2. Not sure if Sally is on the property often, as we stayed only two nights, but we couldn't find her the first night we were there. Luckily we didn't need anything so that was great. There were also two maintenance folks around so we probably could've asked them. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, great place! And great cost - we paid $150 for one night at the Cowboy Cabin which had one private room and a loft with two full beds. I would definitely stay there again but select the other cabin instead (the price would be the same but with a larger loft and more space).

You pay for what you get…read more In our situation, booking 3 months in advance for the 2-day 4th of July Holiday when rates will be at a premium. Our Priceline Pre-paid price for 2 nights was $169. Pictures attached pretty much describe our dinky room. 1. Our beautiful view of the bay from the bathroom. Unfortunately the fan didn't work so our exquisite views were horribly limited. 2. A mirror over the sink designed for short people. The mirror is functional as it does reflect just fine. You just have to bend over. 3. A circa... perhaps1972 gorgeous vintage chair most likely refurbished with gorilla tape...perhaps in 1994? I now realize I could have paid a bit more and reserved that luxurious "queen room with sea view" and even gotten a bit more space to walk around the bed. Check-in went smooth. I walked in the small lobby looking for a bell but there is none. Within a minute a dude walked in and gave me an actual metal key. The dude is also the housekeeper and seemed to be out of breath. But he was a nice guy. There was some gagging and coughing from someone next door. Other than that, the main noise was from cars and trucks along highway 101. Thankfully, there were no drunken fights, screams, known drug deals or cops called during our 2-night stay. So why the 2 stars when honestly nothing really went wrong? I suppose I expected a bit more. No...not more like Days Inn or Travel Lodge quality. But a bit more like maybe consider the clientele doesn't value that vintage 1970s taped up chair? The room smell was just...creepy. Like a bad smell where no spray is going to work. Actually, that is why our room doors were open when we arrived LOL. Or maybe consider re-setting the bathroom mirror so anyone over 5'7 doesn't have to bend over? Oh yeah...when you sit on the toilet it reminds me of sitting on my chair in 1st grade. My guess is that this is a vintage toilet from the late 60s. Entertainment: You could probably take a hike up to the top of the McCullough Bridge and watch a ship pass under the bridge or maybe the Coos Bay Railroad swing span bridge that rotates 90 degrees to allow 3 trains-a-week train traffic over the bay. Grub: Hilltop House is nice, but I haven't dinned there since the 80s so take caution. Moms Kitchen is a better bet for breakfast or lunch. Be prepared to wait... If you can't wait, then I suggest the Pancake Mill.

Reading other's reviews left me wondering whether I'd made a mistake booking a room for a week…read more Answer? A resounding NO! This small roadside inn was perfect. Other reviewers seem to be expecting an upscale modern motel such as a Ramada or Hampton Inn or the like. THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS! When I traveled with my parents in the 60's this was exactly the accommodations we stayed in. The Bay Bridge Motel is absolutely NOT a motel. It is a roadside inn and IMHO the owners are missing a bet by not advertising it as such. The only thing missing is a parking lot full of classic cars. (I tried to help by bringing my 40 year old Porsche.) And the view... OMG, the view. The room rates? Let's just say that they were extremely affordable and that there's an espresso kiosk right over there. We WILL be back!
