Folks, don't believe the 1 star reviews. It is literally impossible to please everyone but before…read moreadmitting my father to this facility i too was very leary of retirement homes Make no mistake The Clare was absolutely terrific and the level of care was amazing! My dad was well taken care of staff were super friendly and I highly recommend this retirement home. My dad was in such bad shape, the Clare even assigned 4 caregivers and PT staff to give him 1 on 1 attention. They sat with him to discuss everything from his life stories etc.. My family.are deeply indebted for the kind and generosity they have shown. They even comped us 4 days free because our insurance only covered so many days. The Clare were truly compassionate and I can definitely say with confidence your loved ones will be well taken care of

NEGATIVE STARS. You will be told the Clare is one of the…read morenicer facilities and it may be true for the nursing home portion however I have nothing nice to say regarding their rehab center. I met Amy the case manager to tour the facility and discuss what my mother had been through and the level of care she required. I was told the Clare was more than capable of handling her needs however that was a blatant lie. This is NOT an adequate rehabilitation facility for post hospitalization patients. The staff is under trained, under qualified and under staffed. I was incredibly clear on my mothers condition and the level of patience and care needed to keep her comfortable. Not only did they not respect our wishes; they did the exact opposite. They bullied my mother and when she asked them to please be more gentle with her and to stop hurting her she was told if she didn't like their treatment she could go back to the hospital. They also told her she needed to leave because they were incapable of helping her. NONE of this was communicated to me directly. When I called to speak to the nurse on duty I was told that the doctor recommend she go to the hospital because their staff could not manage her care. This is the same doctor who couldn't be bothered to actually see her in person and only met with her for 5 minutes on the first day and was not seen or heard from again. I can not stress enough just how INADEQUATE, UNDER TRAINED AND INCAPABLE this staff was. No one seemed to know what they were doing or even cared about the residents. This place is dirty and not well managed. If you have a loved one who needs any sort of care that extends beyond the bare minimum DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.

I called and spoke to Keri Gotsch. She is sheer perfection!!! I called her about fifty thousand times and she knew what my financial limits were and how my mother in law needed a significant amount of medical support. It is next to impossible researching this information and making the phone calls. I will tell you that you might get a lot of calls or emails from the assistive living places but trust me it saves a lot of time especially when you work full time and have kids!! I highly recommend using this place because of Keri! You deserve a billion stars! You have to let them know exactly what you need to save time and get a perfect placement. I hope you try this!! Thanks Keri!

I am extremely disappointed in what A Place for Mom has become. What started as a service meant to…read morehelp seniors find the right home has devolved into a "spray-and-pray" lead-generation machine that overwhelms families with constant calls from communities they often don't even qualify for. Instead of guidance, families get chaos. Equally concerning is how this model treats senior living providers. Communities are being gouged with aggressive, questionable, and borderline fraudulent invoices -- all while APFM profits from referral fees. It feels far less like a partnership and much more like exploitation. If you're looking for senior living for a loved one, my advice is simple: call a local community directly. Even if that community isn't the right fit, a reputable operator will listen to your needs and point you in the right direction -- without the barrage of unwanted calls or commission-driven pressure. A Place for Mom may have begun with good intentions, but today it operates like a marketing engine, not a true advocate for seniors or the communities that serve them.

The staff / team has been very responsive to any questions and relaying information There are primarily two types of activities / events to do monthly: food delivery and a birthday luncheon. Volunteers can sign up for as much as they want to do, or opt out for that month; the online portal makes signing up very simplistic nowadays. There are more activities throughout the year (e.g. holiday parties and visits) that are available, which means more options to volunteer. The staff and fellow volunteers are very friendly and range in age from teenagers to retired adults. Lastly, the elderly that we volunteer for are always appreciative, grateful nd love socializing, which makes volunteering that much more fun and rewarding.
