Skip this orchard this year. Apples are badly damaged after a late frost and hailstorm. Very poor picking.

Delicious cider and donuts! I go almost every weekend to get a half gallon of cider and a dozen cider donuts. Prices are very reasonable.

I finally got to try sandwiches here that my workmates have been raving about, and I'm happy to…read morereport that the hype is real! - Apple turkey: this has really grown on me. At first I felt the gooey pink cranberry mayo was a bit funky, but in the presence of crisp Granny Smith apple slices and soft brie cheese, it makes sense. 4/5 - Chicken salad: one of the first things that stood out was the top-notch tomato slices that greeted me, and it got better from there. The chicken is a 'pulled' type although I can't tell how, but all the ingredients, including the multigrain bread, were just as they should be. 4.5/5 - Carrot chocolate chip cookies: these look and taste much like pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to me, which is to say that I like them. I wish they had a stronger carrot flavour, but I know that's a tall order. These are the doughy, soft type which I don't mind at all. 4/5 Parking is aplenty, staff are quick and friendly, and I love a good local family business. I hope they stay open and keeping serving the delicious for many more years.

People in the know, are aware that there are three separate components to this farm. The carrot barn is where all the good stuff can be found. Fresh produce, local homemade jellies and sauces, and some incredible sandwiches and baked goods. Friendly staff, clean store, ample parking, and decent prices. The greenhouse has a large selection of plants, fruits, and vegetables. You can even take your food and sit in the greenhouse as there are tables and chairs. Open year-round so the inventory changes with the Seasons. Highly recommend that you visit.

Boehm Farm - Taken on 11/13/2022. Also this cider was from somewhere else?

Okay, these were seriously good. When I showed up around 10:30 on a recent Saturday morning, the air smelled of freshly frying donuts. It's always a good sign. And while there were donuts on the counter, when I asked if I could get any hot donuts the clerk went into the back and pulled out some steaming hot specimens. That may not sound like such a big deal, but as we say in this part of the world, it's huge. Hot apple cider donuts are so much better than their room temperature version. Which isn't to say that just because a donut is hot, it will be good. I've had my share of hot and disappointing cider donuts too. The hot apple cider donuts at Boehm Farm were delightful. Perfect? No. But absolutely great. And if you're into exploring the farms and orchards in and around the Capital Region, it's definitely worth your time, as I would put this small, off the beaten path orchard, in the top third of the ones I've visited. Maybe even in the top quarter. More than anything, it makes me think. If Boehm Farm has been hiding in plain sight all these years, how many other excellent orchards remain to be discovered by those relatively recent arrivals to the region? Farms! We've got 'em. And you should visit and support as many of our regional growers as possible. Remember: no farms, no food. Plus, they are charming and magical places. Especially in the fall.
