The trees are low enough not to require ladders so they're kid friendly (and for those of us who are fun-sized). The orchard offered a beautiful view of the hills in the background covered in fall trees when I went in early October. There was also a little pumpkin patch that was perfect for pictures! Many people visit Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard but you don't get the same experience since you don't get to pick the apples right off the trees. However, we did visit Fly Creek (which is a fun experience too!) the next day and I thought that the apple cider doughnuts from here were much better - they were softer and denser! I also compared it to some doughnuts that my cousin bought from another orchard in PA and Middlefield's still comes up on top! I definitely recommend here for your traditional fall apple-picking/apple cider doughnut-eating/pumpkin-picking experience! There weren't much people when we went so there were many opportunities for uninterrupted photos as well!

One of them was teaching a 13-year-old girl how to run the register and then another gentleman who appeared to be in his mid to late 70s approach the counter as my items were being rung up I'm retired Air Force and had a US Air Force retired ball cap on my head. I asked the folks behind the counter kindly if they provided a military discount, the two gentlemen behind the counter, looked at the older gentleman who I am presuming is the owner of the Orchard and who was standing at the end of the counter by this point looked up in my hat, gave me a smirk and said I think your retirement should be paying for mine and then walked away. I didn't appreciate the comment. All he had to say was no we don't provide a discount and I would've been happy with that. It appears to me that this Apple, orchard owner is not veteran friendly and I will not return. My presumption is not based off of the lack of a discount is based off of his statement which I didn't appreciate be prepared for sticker shock for those few things I paid almost $100 for it.

A lot of parking and sitting areas. I have been wanting to get there to try fresh dumplings from a family owned company called two little dumplings. There were a good amount of vendors and food options. We walked around all the vendors before finally finding the one we went for. It had the longest line of people and the wait was so worth it. We split that days special of chicken and Thai basil dumplings. They packed a lot of flavor in every bite - zesty (lime), spicy (ginger, garlic, black pepper), herby (Thai basil), and umami (fish sauce)! There was peanut sauce with hot chili oil, scallions and friend onions. Loved the dumplings but would go with the tradition sauce next time. There were a lot of other great vendors and we ended up also getting spicy rosemary nuts that were so good. Glad we took the drive and will definitely be back for other goodies. They also sell take home frozen dumplings that they post in their facebook page weekly.

They also just have a great selection with heirloom varieties. And whoever makes the dried herb mixes knows what they're doing. Cashiers are always kind too. I'm so glad I found this place four years ago and look forward to them opening every summer.

Our group was assembled with two adults and two kids: we all thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful trip out there. First off, we were encouraged to pick fresh herbs & flowers all for free! Matilda loved it so much she squealed with joy as we ran through the rows of plants and picked flowers. We all left very happy and was glad we made the to trek out there. The kids loved seeing the home where our summer vegetables were grown and we had a lovely hand picked center piece for our dinner table that night.

The farm is a wonderful place to visit, and the u-pick garden (that comes with your share) is overflowing with fresh herbs, cherry tomatoes, and flowers in all colors and sizes.

The esthetic is historic and cute. The backyard is beautiful and a peaceful setting to spend the afternoon sipping and noshing with friends. The ladies behind the counter have always been gracious and welcoming. Full disclosure, one is my daughter. They offer a great selection of hot and cold drinks with weekly specials and the pastry case is always stocked beautifully. Fair warning, they sell out quickly! The in-house egg sandwich is particularly delicious. Light and savory and pairing just perfectly with a hot latte. They also have a cold sandwich selection of the week available in the cold case along with seasonal salads and yogurt cups. Everything I've tried has been good. My personal favorite drink is the espresso tonic offered in the summer. There is a cute retail side for gift shopping and a tiny bookstore right on site. Considering the historic nature of the building, it isn't a surprise that there is lore of resident ghosts also popping up here and there. They sell their own merchandise, put out a weekly newsletter, and absolutely have built a loyal, community-based following. It's definitely worth your time to stop in and give it a try. The only negative that I can name would be the hours. Open Wednesday thru Sunday, with no egg sandwiches made on Wednesdays. Grab and goes still available though. Also, they only sell whole quiches and not by the slice but that's splitting hairs. Give it a try, sit at the community table and make some new friends!
