Good -All of the admin, med techs, nurses and entire staff…read moreare great. There are too many to name so I need to commend all of them. -The facility is beautiful and clean. -All who visited my father stated that they had never been to an assisted living facility as nice as this one. -My father's room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of room to personalize and make it his own. -Cost was very affordable. Everything was included and we hardly had to pay for any extras, just things we wanted to have for our preferences. -Meals they prepared looked appetizing and my father seemed to like most of them. Not so Good - -Definitely think that they need more staff to attend to the residents. -It would be helpful if they did the initial evaluation and developed a plan of action when initially taking residency. We had no orientation at all. We did not know what to expect. -Residents spend too much time just sitting in their wheelchairs in the hallway most of the time with no attendants around. -One resident screamed most of the day as the staff basically ignored her. -Another resident screamed and hollered back and forth down the hallway while I witnessed her hit others and hit me once as well. I also witnessed this same resident putting her hands in other residents food and eating it. -Some residents needed assistance eating but there was not enough staff to assist most of the time. My father needed assistance and there were times where we came there and he was alone trying to eat himself and was unsuccessful. If this happened on the times that we happened to go I am sure there were other times where he just would not eat because he needed help that was not around. -My father was a fall risk and had fallen several times. Most in his room but in the hallway as well. -My father went there with glasses and after a couple of weeks they were no where to be found. We even brought another pair and they disappeared as well. Staff said they looked for them but no success, so my father who wore glasses his whole life probably could not see as he wore bifocals. There was no recourse for losing two $300 pair of prescription glasses. -Cameras need to be installed in the rooms. Was told they would be, but they would only work after the person has fallen, so I am not sure how that is working out. -If residents are fall risk why aren't there rails or other precautions so they will not get out of bed and fall? Or why aren't they monitored more closely? -I stayed the night before my father passed. This was my first time with the overnight shift. I went out in the hallway and saw a staff member actually sleeping, which probably happens all of the time, hence for the residents getting out of bed and falling. -The night my father passed the staff came in the room to introduce themselves. A couple hours later my father passed at about 1040. I went in the hallway to let them know he was not breathing. One staff member(female) was there and I told her. She went down the hall and I did not see her or any other staff member. I waited and waited and finally I called Hospice myself as no one was to be found. The staff (a male and the female) finally came to the room almost 20 minutes later and I explained that I already called Hospice myself. Gave me a bad opinion of the night shift. Just thinking about if I was not there how long would my father have laid there before they even came in the room to see he was no longer breathing. -The accounting and billing section was absolutely horrible and could never come up with the final numbers of the amount that I was owed back because the month was prepaid. They finally just stop communicating with me with no resolution. Just BAD business there. A business should be able to provide a breakdown of charges and not just ignore the customer. I had to finally go to corporate and nothing was done and I heard from no one. Now the monthly rent was $5,695 and I was refunded only $367.44 for 5 prepaid days, with no explanation. Overall opinion -After my father's passing everyone was so kind and caring. It really meant a lot to see that the Director, Mr Nicholas Bridges came to the service to show his respect for our family. All was good until it came time for a refund. -The facility is beautiful and the staff is wonderful but definitely do need more help to be more attentive to the residents.

I moved my mother to Lia's care in December 2019 with a lot of personal reluctance as I wanted my mother to remain with me until she passed (she had dementia). After realizing I would not be equipped to give her the best care, I found Lia and even though my mother passed on Dec 25, 2020, I still thank God every day for leading me to Lia. When I originally went to visit her care center, I immediately noticed that when Lia walked through the den area where all the ladies were watching TV/movies, they would reach for her smiling and trying to get her attention. They wanted her to give them a hug or just to say hello. They ALL wanted her attention and were so happy to see her in the room. That was the final thing that sold me as I knew these reactions from the residents were genuine. Lia took care of my mother as if she were her own mother. Never once did I have a complaint about anything. Of course, once Covid hit and I could not come see my mom every day, it was wonderful to have the peace of mind of knowing that I did not need to worry at all. Lia would Facetime with me however often I wanted, to make sure I got to see my mom's sweet face even though my mom was so far gone she did not know me. You will certainly realize very quickly after moving your loved one to Lia's care that it is most definitely the best decision you ever made!! We had a camera that we checked remotely and you should have one! Meetings with the Executive Director and Wellness Director were held at our request but nothing changed after their promises. The CNA's are very lazy and left our loved one in soiled diapers with urine and feces. They would walk in the room, look but not touch him and walk back out. Minimal effort is made to do anything. Diapers were not changed on any schedule and sometimes not even once in 24 hours The laundry situation is a joke. After realizing that the laundry facility was in dire need of care, we took the laundry home. The machines are old, don't work right and the laundry detergent that feeds into the machines is usually empty. Most of the machines need to be replaced They laughed at and yelled at him because his diaper was so full of urine and feces. The caregivers morale is low. They came in and yelled at our family member because they had to change him. We finally got one fired, but the others still made cruel comments to him and laughed. Housekeeping and cleanliness is an issue. Rooms were moped with dirty water and vanity and si sky were never cleaned. our loved one died in early December but we were not refunded the balance of the December rent $3, 300 until Feb 6. In our view the owner of Ivy Springs is enriching himself with this low budget facility to the detriment of those who proclaim to give quality care and respect. We will never place anyone in Ivy Springs or any Mainstay Senior living facility, the parent company. Please please do not use this facility. we had a family member spend from 9 to 3 every day and it was horrific.
