As others have written, this place used to be really good and THE spot. But over the years, it has become only "ok". The baguettes are a little more on the chewy side - instead of a nice, crisp exterior and soft interior. Their pain chololat is also chewy and doesn't have that crispness. TLDR: Solid pastries made with high quality ingredients in a no frills store. I would go again to get anything in the store earlier in the day. I got a fruit croissant. Each time I step into the small store I'm immediately greeted and helped by one of the friendly staff. This time was no different! I went near the end of the day, so selection was limited. I got one of the fruit croissant as a snack. The treat is filled with some sort of custard (I don't know my pastries very well) and topped with some sort of fruit (depending on your choice). While the custard-fruit combo is wonderfully sweet and juicy, the trade off is a slightly dense croissant. This isn't your perfect pillowy, flaky croissant, it's a vehicle for the "filling". I personally enjoy the pastry, but it's not for everyone. That's not a problem though because the bakery has many other wonderful options. Love love LOVE this place! Can't wait to try more of their food. I had the smoked salmon sandwich with guacamole and it was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh it was. I got that, and a butter pecan cookie which totaled $9.60 -- VERY low for the area and quality! The lunch was filling which made it even better for the price. I went on a Monday at 12:15pm. One thing to note would be that even though it was a really slow day in town and not many people were there, a lot of things were already picked through. While Momo's prices will consistently make your nose bleed, their baked goods seem to be a daily Rorschach test on how the staff is feeling. Some days you could drift away on the aroma while others are more reminiscent of the local supermarket. I used to love going here in Princeton but I haven't gone as often since they moved locations. The pastries are still great though.

Great to find this one is open since the one in Princeton seemingly closed (I'm told they'll reopen in time). They have different options than the Princeton one, pastries, focaccia--more cafe/bakery type. And of course their delicious bread. Nothing has prices on it except for the coffee, which is a little annoying and I hope they'll change that. But otherwise if you loved it in Princeton you'll love it here. The products--bread and pastry--are excellent, truly. Equal to anything in Europe. The problem is the service. Many people in the Pennington shop are inept. They cannot multitask. They do not listen. Today I called to find out if the shop was open at the Trenton Farmer's Market, and I waited nearly 4 minutes for the woman to answer my question while she waited on a customer. (She put the phone down so I could hear every part of the customer interaction.) When I asked to verify if she was talking about the Trenton Farmer's Market, she responded, "No it's closed." This is not the first discombobulated call there. Even in the shop sales people do not listen to customer orders. The shop really ought to train people better or hire new people who are courteous and good listeners. (The people at the Trenton Farmer's Market are great, by the way.) The customer service issues really detract from an otherwise great food product line. Fix it, please. read more

I have now officially tried all of the pastries at Terra Momo and I have to say that they were ALL disappointing. Boring is another word I would use. The bakery that used to exist at Brick Farm Market was LIGHT YEARS above it, but sadly it is no more. Go figure. The breads are ok, not great. You can get better at Lucy's Kitchen. read more

This place is a nice little fine! It's like a touch of France in Princeton. The food is absolutely delicious and you can taste the passion of the baker through the finish of the pastries and bread. However, it is a little pricey. So you may have to save up a few shekels before coming here, but it is worth it. I especially like the pastries, tapenade, and Olive bread. My wife and I have a sweet tooth and always love to visit bakeries, especially after a meal. Terra Momo was a pleasant surprise as the reviews were luke warm. We were heading back to our car in the same direction, so figured why not. When we got there, we looked through the window and it didn't look busy and uninspiring. Then, we saw this cute little turtle shaped bread on the windowsill and decided to go in after all. Boy are we glad we did! We purchased a few items and they were pretty good! Bought a lemon tart, almond croissant, and a bread that's the shape of a hedgehog. It was so cute! If you don't like sweets, then come here for the bread. Everything is baked fresh on premises. The lemon tart was both tart and sweet, but not overly so. It was tasty. Only thing I which was that the crust was a little thicker to counteract the sweet and tart. My wife enjoyed the almond croissant. It goes to show you a 3 star establishment doesn't necessarily mean bad. Taste can be subjective and sometimes not everything can be great at a restaurant or food establishment. I called and placed an order for 3 kings cakes earlier this week and was told that they would be ready Today by mid-morning! When I arrived to the storefront they informed me that they did not make the cakes - "Sorry". My husband and I made a point of donating funds to keep this bakery Open when Covid hit. Terra Momo is part of the Eno Terra/Mediterra/Teresa Cafe restaurant family. Apparently they supply the breads for these restaurants on a daily basis. First time at Terra Momo to try their famed Almond-crusted chocolate croissant on a lovely Saturday morning. On display was a decent selection of freshly baked breads and desserts. By 11am, they were already out of their almond chocolates croissants, so we had to settle for the regular chocolate croissants. Unfortunately, the croissant itself also didn't evoke that precious "fresh patching straight out of a hot piping oven" feeling. Truth be told, this place didn't quite meet my expectations. Didn't get that freshly baked smell floating in air warm-fuzzy feeling. In fact, the lady behind the counter was quite rude when we inquired about their croissant selections. When the plain croissants are freshly baked that day, they are simply amazing. Regrettably, the past three times, since they have re-opened, I have gone to pick up plain and almond croissants on a Saturday morning, i have been sold croissants that were not baked that morning. There is a huge difference when it is freshly baked that morning virus those that were baked a day or more ago. I have had freshly baked croissants from Terra Momo, and they are simply amazing taste wise - it is fluffy, crisp, and simply delicious. Prior to Covid, I would regularly go on a Saturday or a Sunday morning to pick up croissants and bread, and was never disappointed. Since Covid, seems they are selling their freshly baked stuff elsewhere, and not to their shop customers. That is a shame!!! jp read more

Really cute, small bakery on the end of Witherspoon. Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by a wide array of bread to your left. I didn't have enough room in my stomach to try all the breads, but I definitely want to go back. Had a fococcia with tomatoes on top ($3), which was nice, but unfortunately way too greasy. Also had the smoked salmon avocado sandwich, which was really good. The smoked salmon was delicious, and balanced nicely with the avocado and lettuce. I think it was $6.75, which is pricy, but this is Princeton, so pricy is normal. There's only one table with two seats, so most customers come in to buy their bread and walk out. They're open from 6 AM, so it's definitely on my list as a breakfast place to go to if Little Chef Pastry Shop hasn't opened up yet. read more

Only after leaving Princeton did I realize how good Terra Momo was. In the last couple of years, I have had a lot of trouble finding just, simple bread as good as their ciabattas or baguettes. After coming back to school recently and seeing that their rating dropped to 3.5 on Yelp, I decided that I had to contribute my rating, because 3.5 is silly. I don't have the vocabulary these days to describe good bread in technical terms, but I can tell you that Terra Momo's bread has always been always exactly what I want in bread. Soft on the inside, with a nice crust... the kind of bread that you want to finish in its entirety, shamelessly in one sitting. I actually took a small ciabatta home with me this past visit, and after surviving NJ Transit, I made a simple bacon and egg sandwich with it, and the bread just went amazingly with it. And I've had it in the past with butter or just on its own, and those times have been wonderful as well. In addition, I have had nothing but good experiences with their croissants, crostini, and any other sweets I have gotten from here (especially their cream-filled breads). If you're a bread fan, you're missing out by not going here. Don't make the same mistake I made by not going here regularly as a student. read more

A great bakery in Princeton! Every time we are in the area, we stop by. This time we got an olive loaf, almond stick, and a gougere. We have also had their paninis and other loaves! The gougere was a little pastry filled with cheese and was delicious. I could have probably eaten five of them. My friend really enjoyed her almond stick as well. The olive bread was a nice accompaniment to some cheese later in the day. This was the perfect snack to fuel us through some shopping in the area. As is befitting for a bakery located in a rich neighborhood, there is little focus on quality and plenty on looks and being a cute little corner bakery that overcharges for subpar stuff. I used to come here a lot the past 15 years when it was Witherspoon Bread but unfortunately quality has deteriorated as well as cleanliness, service and price. Then again, there is plenty of money sloshing around to subsidize this well located bakery - in any other city/town Terra would quickly be put out of business by even a mediocre bakery. I've been here a few times and been disappointed each time. The croissants are cakey, not flakey. They never seem fresh, more like they were made the day before. Even when I come in early in the morning, nothing is warm and the taste is like it's made the day before. Same for the bread. It's not cheap, and not worth the money. You might be able to get away with such lousy croissants at a third-rate Safeway, but selling them for about $3 a piece is scandalous, especially in a setting that offers all the trappings and pretensions of an actual artisan bakery. They were basically flat, misshapen rolls. Very sad. That disappointment was topped off with thoughtless service (the pastries were crummy, but that doesn't mean I also wanted them to be smashed). I also picked up two loaves of bread, which looked very nice but had a disappointing crumb with an amateurish gap under the top crust. (I can bake better bread at home for a fraction of the price.) The Linzer cookies were OK, but overall I don't get why this place is so popular. read more

There's been no change in the quality of the breads, so I'll keep coming back for the pain du levain and the sourdough, but lately I've been a little off-put by the service. It sometimes seems to me that when I'm getting helped they're acting either indifferent to me or like they're doing me a favor by getting me the loaf I've selected.
