Craig did an incredible job explaining each wine, how it's made, and what makes each one different. I'm so glad we did because we ended up bringing home a case of wine with nine different varieties because we couldn't pick favorites. We loved them all. There was not enough chicken pieces for the price, too many croutons, no onion or enough tomato; just cheap lettuce. They don't serve regular glasses of water here. It was all crushed ice! We suspected they were just pre-wine slushies! This was really odd. There's not real wait service but since we sat upstairs, people needed to bring stuff up so I did tip a usual amount. However, the operations and service need severe improvement: Disjointed Pacing: Drinks, an appetizer charcuterie board, and entrees (including a lackluster pizza) arrived at completely random intervals with long, awkward gaps between them. Inattentiveness & Hidden Fees: Our server never went over the menu or asked for our food order--we had to flag her down repeatedly. She was unfamiliar with the beers on tap and charged $4 for a tiny sample without menu listing or prior disclosure. Unacceptable Safety & Management Response: At 9 PM on a Saturday, my husband was bitten by a dog near the outdoor fire pit. I couldn't find a manager to report it. When I alerted the host, she tried to locate one, but instead of the manager coming over, they sent a staff member, who then just sent our server back out. After waiting an extended period, we left without ever being able to speak to management. There is so much natural charm, great ambiance, and potential here. My son graduated from Ohio University and we made a reservation for a party of 12. Despite that reservation, there was a considerable wait (about an hour) but that's not why I'm writing this review. We traveled from Pittsburgh to celebrate my son, so I brought a specially made cake from a local bakery that he loves. I asked the manager if we could serve that cake after the meal and not only did he decline, he was very rude. Even after I reminded him that we were on the verge of spending close to $1000 in his restaurant he would make no exception. I didn't make a fuss but after our meal when the waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we had a good laugh and said uhhhh no thank you. I hope the potential handful of desserts you thought we might be forced to buy was worth this one star review.
