Teriyaki Town is a staple of comfort dining, offering the generous portions, sweet-and-savory flavors, and quick service that define the classic Northwest Teriyaki experience. While the menu has a broad selection of Japanese-inspired and fusion dishes, the focus remains firmly on the marinated, flame-broiled classics. It's an ideal spot for a quick, filling, and satisfying meal. Featured Dishes & Flavor Profile The Classic: Chicken Teriyaki (Most Recommended) The flagship dish here is the Chicken Teriyaki, and it lives up to its reputation. The chicken is typically cut into manageable chunks, char-broiled to perfection, and coated in a thick, glossy teriyaki glaze. The glaze strikes a fantastic balance--it's sweet without being cloying and has a deep, savory umami flavor. The portions are notably generous, often providing enough for two meals, which makes the value excellent. It is traditionally served over a mountain of white rice and accompanied by a simple side salad with a bright, often ginger-based, dressing. Flavor Highlights: Sweet, smoky, and deeply savory. Best Paired With: A side of fried rice for an extra satisfying crunch. Spicy Chicken Teriyaki For those who crave a kick, the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki is a popular alternative. The heat level is usually moderate, providing a warm tingle rather than a scorch, ensuring the robust teriyaki flavor remains front and center. It's a great way to elevate the traditional dish. Noodle Favorite: Chicken Yakisoba The Chicken Yakisoba is another highly recommended item. It features pan-fried noodles tossed with marinated chicken, cabbage, carrots, and broccoli in a savory yakisoba sauce. The noodles are cooked well, offering good texture, and the vegetable-to-noodle ratio is generally excellent. This dish is hearty and flavorful, serving as a great alternative to the rice plates. Must-Try Sides & Appetizers Gyoza (Pot Stickers): These pan-fried dumplings are often celebrated for their crisp exterior and flavorful pork and vegetable filling. They are a reliable and well-executed side dish. Egg Rolls/Veggie Rolls: Crispy and served with a tangy plum sauce, they make a great starter. Service, Value, and Ambiance Service: Service at Teriyaki Town is typically quick and efficient, catering well to both dine-in customers and those picking up takeout orders. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Value: This is where Teriyaki Town truly shines. The prices are competitive, especially considering the enormous portion sizes. It's common for customers to get two meals out of a single entree, making it a fantastic deal. Ambiance: The ambiance is usually casual, straightforward, and clean--focused on getting great food to the customer promptly. It's the perfect place for a lunch break or a relaxed weeknight dinner. Final Verdict If you're looking for authentic, satisfying, and large portions of classic Pacific Northwest teriyaki, Teriyaki Town is a reliable choice. The consistency of the Chicken Teriyaki and the great value make it a beloved local spot.

Small place, big plate, nice lady, 5 min wait for food. And that very food was great. Would be down to come back.

    The menu

The service was great, the cashier was super friendly & outgoing. We ordered the chicken Yakisoba & the beef short ribs. Both were very tasty and hit the spot. They also have complimentary tea which I thought was such a nice touch. They play relaxing music too. High chairs are available. I'm from California otherwise I'd come back sooner.

The chicken teriyaki was amazing, plenty of meat and dumplings to share with another for a light lunch, or by yourself for a heartier one. Good rice, good gyoza, good dressing on the lettuce. Highly recommend.

Took my food to the park.

I had the Chicken Teriyaki Togo, very good, large portion at a fair price. Service was nice and efficient.

Chicken was burnt and very little teriyaki sauce made it all dry. My friend likes overcooked chicken so they were ok with it.

We order takeout regularly here and they are friendly and expedient. Our favorites are the beef short ribs and gyoza sides.

HI LIFE is an exception, and will be a go-to going forward. The Poke sho-ka-do box is a great option for open minded first-timers. It's a huge amount of food, easily satisfying two and giving you a nice sense of the variety of fish and marinades on offer. Note that it's a fixed set, so you'll likely end up with some marinades/fish you prefer over others. The mayo-base poke wasn't my jam, but that's personal preference. One note, it'd be nice if the box included rice. it's available for $3 extra, which feels trivial. As for dining environs, it's located in a refurbished service station. There's limited indoor seating by the service counter, but most tables are under the overhang where gas pumps would have once been. I'd go at a slightly off-time if possible to ensure you get a seat! We were stuffed. Each bento box comes with a variety of poke styles (9) you can mix and try, which made the whole experience even better. Every single one we tried was fresh, flavorful, and really well-prepared. I'm from Seattle, but this is absolutely worth the ferry ride to Hi Life. I'll definitely be coming back.

I expected more since there were plenty of good reviews, but I think we should've spent some more time searching. For context, we wanted a good sushi dinner - willing to spend a little more on special rolls, etc. I would maybe consider this spot again if you were to just come for some appetizers or regular rolls, but don't come here expecting phenomenal sushi. We got the pork belly lettuce wraps and the sweet coconut shrimp. The lettuce wraps were a highlight/our favorite and honestly I would come back for just these. The coconut shrimp was OK, but not anything to write home about. For sushi, we got the Black Widow and X-File special rolls, the chu-toro sashimi, and one yamagobo maki. The most expensive part, the chu-toro, was not as good as I'd expect it to be for the price point. I've had much better (cheaper) toro so this was the biggest let-down. The special rolls were good, but again, not great. I definitely favored the Black Widow roll, as the soft-shell crab was very yummy. Service was also lacking a bit. It was not busy but our waiter wasn't super attentive. Waters sat empty for a while at one point, and in general it just took a while in between visits.

Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and well executed in this fusion restaurant. The spicy truffle wontons with grilled shrimp were a standout! We also tried thier chili prawn noodles, which had egg noodles and was just as good. The tempura shrimp was also crunchy and added to the great mix of textures. We didn't know what to order so we looked at a bunch of photos to see what looked good. We started off with the Chicken Buns. It was really good karage chicken bao buns, very flavorful, nicely prepared and the mayo was tasty! We really enjoyed this to start off our meal. As for our entrees, we got: Bun Cha Hanoi: Good amount of meats, I really liked this, comes with 2 pork patties, 2 grilled pork skewers, an egg roll, noodles to dip in the nuoc cham sauce with lettuce to make some wraps. I went to town on this! Sautee Beef Vermicelli: I got some bites to this dish as well, beef was plenty, quite flavorful stir fried beef, good marinade on the beef, comes with vermicelli noodles with some assorted veggies and crispy bits on top. A good non soup beef noodle dish! We came at a good time, we got seated pretty quickly, friendly staff, it is on the pricier side but we enjoyed the food a lot. The place got busier when we were leaving. Worth coming by to check out if you in the neighborhood!
