While I did mention that to booker, on the day of, Amie didn't know, but was a true pro on the day of, jumped on in, gave me the color I was looking for (which is a HARD color to do and I am PICKY AF -- "not too white, not too yellow, not too ash - somewhere in between - and Amie nailed it), and hung in there until she got it right. She also fixed a bad hair cut I had received prior, blending my bad cut AND prepping my hair for when I CAN come back to get extensions. She did not make short cuts, listened very well about what I wanted, got on the same page super quick, did not cut corners -- she did not let me leave until she was happy with the end result and so was I. It's an amazing space, and Kim and Amie are lovely and very sweet. Getting intensive color or extensions done is a long process (lol I wore my pajamas to be comfy because I know it takes time), and everybody is friendly, make you comfortable, and there is an adorable little four legged guy who says hi while you process. I had been searching for "my person" for years after my previous stylist moved, and I'm probably a little harder to impress than the average person because I grew up in salons and worked in the cosmetic industry for years. I know when someone really knows their craft -- and this girl knows her stuff. I love most is that she actually listens. Like really listens. She'll look at your inspiration, look at your actual hair, and tell you honestly what your hair type and texture can do instead of just saying yes to everything and sending you home wondering why you don't magically have the same head of hair as the person in the Pinterest photo. She works WITH your hair, and that makes such a difference. She was also unbelievably patient with me over several appointments while I slowly worked up the courage to get the haircut I actually wanted. I kept inching toward it like a frightened woodland creature and she never pushed me. She just worked with me until I was ready. And when I finally committed??? Literally the best my hair has ever looked. The cut is so good. So precise. Every piece falls where it's supposed to, she understood exactly how to work with my texture, and somehow my hair just makes sense now. The color I showed her? She formulated it perfectly. And her blowouts are honestly rude because now I know what my hair is capable of looking like and I cannot recreate that magic at home. I would have her blow out my hair every morning if that were a normal and financially responsible thing to do. But beyond how insanely talented she is, she is just an absolute gem of a human. She's funny, sweet, warm, compassionate, adorable, easy to talk to and genuinely so much fun to be around.
