Took my temperature when I arrived, and asked about any symptoms and exposure to COVID. Stephanie did my hair. I had horrible COVID grow out, had to get color correction, because of the incompetence of the person who did my hair at a different salon. I had to have two visits with Stephanie to fix my hair. The final result was great! She gave me a great recommendation of a protein hair mask to use at home. Wow! What a difference! As much as we had fun at my hair visits. She didn't want to see me for at least two months! I was heartbroken. Who was I to have girl talk with? Who was going to spoil me with my hair? Who was going to make me look beautiful? (I am hot. That is why I waited 2 years to get my hair cut again. I was anxious to come here again, but I decided to go to a different woman whom I thought I could trust. Upon entering and taking my seat in the chair, I was immediately met with disrespect from the stylist. I was constantly interrupted, and she barely glanced at the photos even though I relayed to her my anxiety from my previous haircut. Even then, she dismissed my words and anxieties, and said continuously, "your previous haircut doesn't matter," even though she would bring it up later and blame me for my bad haircut. She also chose not to understand what I wanted because she wasn't listening when I was explaining it. This wasn't just her either, the stylist next to me helping a client was also incredibly rude and gave their client a bad attitude. It was like going to a salon run by mean girls in high school. The receptionist was so kind and welcoming, but the stylists need to check their behavior towards clients. I have had too many bad experiences here, but I kept wanting to give chances. All in all, it was such a negative environment and horrible customer service. NEVER COMING BACK!!! If you ever book here, don't book with Clarissa. I was thinking "Yeah, whatever" but he was right. I am definitely glad I decided to drop by. Gotta give them props for having newer looking barber chairs. The other place I go to has worn out chairs...worn out so bad that some of them even lean to the side a little bit. Also they accept credit cards, which most black barbershops don't do. You know how it's annoying when after you get your haircut you need to take another shower to get rid of all the extra hair trimming? Or there is trimmed hair that may have fallen into your shirt collar? Well the barber who founded this place hates that too, so after he cuts your hair he washes and shampoos your hair so you won't have this problem. He then puts some hair product on it and blow dries it. He also stuffs a towel around the back of your neck so no hair trimmings fall into your shirt collar. He also does your edge up with straight edge razor, which takes more time but is WELL worth it. You feel like a million bucks when you walk out of there, and you can tell the barbers want to make sure they get your haircut JUST right. All this for the same price I was paying at Geneva's. Even my wife commented on how nice my haircut was. This will be my place from now on!
