Average Mexican food. Good spot to hit for lunch when your out and about shopping. We stopped here for a late lunch. The chips n salsa are good. The queso is very good. The queso is free with purchase of an entree when paying in cash. I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas in red sauce with 2 orders of rice. My wife ordered the chicken burrito blanco with rice. My enchiladas were just ok. The chicken seemed to be a bit dry. My wife enjoyed the burrito blanco which had the same grilled chicken as the fajitas. The service was prompt but it did take quite a while to receive our food. This restaurant is not a destination spot. It is a ok spot if your in the area and want some tex-mex for lunch. We also didn't notice any lunch menu on a Saturday afternoon. read more

The last two times my wife and I had horrible service. Tonight though really upset me. Our waiter who never introduced himself rushed us for our order then we waited 35 minutes for our appetizer that never came and the funny thing is our waiter walked passed us 3 times and never once asked if we needed anything. Went for an early dinner and was not impressed. First, none of the tables in the front of the house were bussed so we were seated in the bar. Second, When we got to our seats we saw one of the wait staff taking a nap in a booth. Third, when we got our food my husbands Philly Cheese Steak Burrito had all the onions and peppers in one end of the burrito and not evenly distributed. The refrained beans had a different seasoning and I wasn't a fan. Finally, when we left only a few of the tables had been bussed after been in the restaurant 45 min. Went here last week, and it was not a pleasant experience. To start the waiter did not seem to understand what we were talking about. He ordered my friend a margarita though he explicitly told him "I won't be ordering one, I will just sip my girlfriends". Secondly when we asked for some salsa we had to request it over 2 times before they finally brought it. Now, to the real issues because those can all be done away with good food. But alas, this food was horrendous. My friend had a chimichanga, it was bland, not fried properly so the bread was just really chewy. The meat had very little seasoning. I could not even finish both of my tacos I had ordered. No toppings, felt like just ground beef and some tomatoes. No basil, no sour cream, not even an option. I'm not sure, being from Chicago I am really hoping I find some good Mexican food here in Peoria but it is not here. read more

This is standard Mexican restaurant. There is nothing that really sets it apart. The chips and salsa are the best thing they have going for them. The last time I was in I order the chori pollo. It comes with flour tortillas. I asked if I could have it with corn tortillas instead. They brought me out flour tortillas anyway. I was hungry so I just skipped having tortillas rather than waiting for our server to reappear. My mom lives in East Peoria and this is the closet Mexican restaurant to her house. Even though this place is not spectacular, I will continue to come here rather driving into Peoria to get Mexican food. read more

We used to love this place and the food used to be good. The last two times we have been there the food was mediocre at best and the service was horrible. We waited an extremely long time to get an appetizer and our food. When it finally came we had no utensils to eat it, no napkins, no plates. Went here for lunch the other day. Standard mid range Mexican menu. Great chips, and the salsa got hotter the more of it I ate. By the bottom of the bowl it was too hot for me but I can't hold that against them. I got a lunch special with a cheese quesedilla, a beef tostada, and a beef enchilada with red sauce. The quesedilla was loaded with cheese, the tostada was piled high and delicious, and the enchilada was.... Interesting. The red sauce they use has cinnamon or something similar in it giving it a taste completely different than what you would expect. I didn't care for it and neither did my dining companion. Next time I will try their green sauce instead. Overall it was pretty much what I expected. The food was not the best I have ever had, nor was it bad. If you are in East Peoria and craving some nice sit down Mexican food this would be a good place to go. read more

Wow. This is my first time at this place. It will be the first of many times to come. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to be seated, but in fairness it was a group of 11 people and it was 6 pm on a Friday night. It was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely incredible. Last time I had food this great was Casa de Pico in San Diego, CA. I had the tortilla soup which was the best I've ever had anywhere. The carne asada was fantastic. Hot with lots of sides. Had a GIGANTIC strawberry margarita which was also incredibly good. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes you receive. Will definitely be back again and soon!! read more

Tequila's in Washington has been our favorite Mexican place in the Peoria area and we go almost weekly. The food is consistently good between the Washington location and the EP location. The EP location has a much nicer and more modern decor. Overall we're big fans. However... Since the EP location opened it's like they took the Washington staff and sent half to EP. So there are fewer servers at BOTH locations and the service has suffered - the EP location seems to be worse. Staff can not be as attentive to bringing more chips, salsa, refills, correcting mistakes, etc. like we're so accustomed to at Mexican restaurants in general. Still the food is that much better that we're willing to overlook the drop in service vs. going somewhere else where we might get better service but not food we like as much. Hopefully with time they'll build their staff and be back to providing better service. read more

Get there early, you'll have to wait and the waiting area is cramped with no seating and the bar is at the OPPOSITE side, so there isn't even the option to have a drink while you are waiting. :-( But the food is yummy! read more

The homemade salsa has just the right amount of spice, and you cannot go without having the cheese dip. Every time I go wait staff is always top notch. And they were getting chips out of the heating unit with their hands!!! One of the worst meals I've ever had!! This place started out being ok when it first opened but unfortunately has gone downhill ever since. Had dinner there on 9/5/19. The chicken fajita quesadilla was completely inedible!! The meat was so tough, I couldn't cut it with a knife, let alone try to chew it. Of all the Mexican places I've tried in Peoria, this is has become my favorite. The food is consistently good (not too salty!) and margaritas are the best. Salsa, guacamole, chorizo, and queso are all good. Other Favorites: tacos al carbon, molcajete, veggie fajita, ensalada, and chile pablano. It does get busy on weekends but staff can usually keep up. My only complaint is the noise level. Not enough for me to take away a star, but I wish they would put up some sound absorption material in the ceiling. read more

Chose Tequilas per the recommendation of my wife who had been there before, and I will admit it was good. We split the fajitas (steak) which is what I normally order at a Mexican restaurant as my guide! Fajitas were plentiful for two people and the flavor was great. The only downfall was no homemade tortillas, that is the missing link. Great service, good chips, and a nice addition to the East Peoria landscape. We will be back. read more

This is a place my family loves to frequent. They are loyal to this place. That said I would expect more respect from the staff especially from their sorry excuse for a host. We came in with 9 people in our party and they told us we had the option to either sit outside or inside. Yes mu family took a while to decide but nonetheless they left us to our own devices in their outside patio. When my family had decided they wanted to sit outside we asked two of their servers that we had decided on sitting outside so we were ready for them to arrange the tables for us like THEY had mentioned to us previously. Instead the first white waiter completely disregarded us. The reason I mention the young white waiter is because we are of color and the people he had just seated were white. The only reason I mention it is because it was super notable that he ignored us but not them. He could have at least pretended to give a shit but he didn't he just barely glanced my way and didn't even acknowledge that we had spoken to him. Talk about unfair treatment. Then the second waiter who was mexican told us that he couldn't do anything for us, that we had to walk all the way to the front of the restaurant to request service again. What kind of a joke was that? I understand that a restaurant is a busy work environment but if I had said thag to some clients where I work I would have been fired. Could he have not at least made someone aware of the situation instead of making us wait outside like we're worthless? We came here to buy food and drinks so we were willing to spend but since they treated us so badly outside we chose to sit inside. Then once we were inside they told us that the table that would have accomadated us was already being held for another group. So what about us? We basically had to seat ourselves. How incredibly bad service. Not only that but our party of nine had to be split up. The whole point of coming as a family was that we wod sit together and enjoy each other's company. Instead we had the worst experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. I have had better hospitality at a fast food joint. This was utterly ridiculous!! Not that great. VERY LOUD! Food was ok but nothing above average. I had grilled pork tacos that had dry meat while the corn tortillas were wet and tore before I could take a bite. The beans were fine but the rice was dried out. My wife had chicken with white sauce. Also not impressive. The kids had a quesadilla. It was the best item served. The table service was fine. Nice server but pretty overwhelmed. The lady who sat us didn't smile or welcome us. I was really surprised at that. She seemed annoyed in general. I think some of the negative s are because they were very busy and appeared to have three huge birthdays going on at the same time. The decor was nice. The noise level was the loudest I have experienced in a mexican restaurant. I was also disappointed by seeing uncleared tables outside. I will just go to Lorena's instead next time. The East Peoria location: Horrible service we waited very long time for our food. The hostess was rude and gave us a smaller table even when we were a bigger party. In the beginning I thought it was because we were the only Latinos there but after seeing all the reviews I see it's a common practice to be rude. The food is descent but service lacks of friendliness and attention. Most likely not coming back, just go to jalapeños they are way better. read more
