Hacienda Wrap. Very good!
Hannah H.

And the award for the weakest margaritas goes to... Hacienda Fuentes! I'm pretty sure there was close to zero tequila in these. Their margarita options on the menu were also, simply, Lemon or Strawberry. LEMON?! There were zero descriptions for ingredients, just 'Small, Medium, Large,' with no pricing info either. When we ordered, I clarified multiple times that this would be a normal LIME margarita, and he said yes. And it was, so I have no idea what the lemon option is or if that's a complete typo on the menu. Anyway, moving on. The margaritas may have been a one star experience but the food saved them here and was actually really delicious! I had the Hacienda Wrap and was quite impressed. It was pretty large but man was it tasty! We also had an order of queso which was yummy as well. With the food and service being a good experience, I went with 4 stars but those margs could use some serious work, y'all.

Unique booth dividers!

Service was prompt and the vegetarian fajitas were delicious. I especially liked their salsa - nice flavor. I enjoyed my dinner thoroughly and would come back. The decor is colorful and the piped in music is all in Spanish (of course!). Other than forgetting my customer copy for the credit card payment, I have no complaints. Enjoy!

Beautiful details and environment

The place was packed and we thought it would be awhile for our food, but I was wrong. They came right over and gave us chips and salsa before I even sat down. Then took only about 5 minutes for our food. Was very good and fresh. Not very many authentic Mexican restaurants serve hamburger tacos and Husband and I are grateful they do. Everyone that works there is very friendly. Beautiful clean place to take the whole family.

Eat here weekly, quality of meat seems to be better and queso dip is definitely the best. The atmosphere is excellent.

Food was mediocre. Staff was helpful. We did take-out as we were from out of town at a motel.

Decent food. Great service. Just seems like everything costs extra. I like guac and sour cream and you barely get enough for the meal.

We ordered a Speedy Gonzalez (chicken taco, chicken enchilada with a side of rice) and a #6 (chicken chalupa, chicken enchilada with rice and beans). We added a side of sour cream. The sour cream was an extra 1.75. Both lunch specials were 9.00 dollars each. The chips and 1 side of salsa were free. We added another side of salsa for a 1.75. Overall, a good value for the portions and food quality. We really liked our meals. The chips and salsa are good here. I have been here in the past and it was not a good experience. This was a good experience today for a late lunch. Sometimes, you have to give restaurants another chance or another couple chances to see if they are a good place to eat.

The portions are good, the prices even better. Two entrees, a chips and salsa and a small side of queso for 30$ Quality is amazing so much better than any Mexican restaurant I've ever had. I got my food quickly and it was very busy for a Saturday. I absolutely LOVED the hand painted walls of the restaurant, lots of bright colors. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, I will definitely be back again next weekend!

Review Visit: October 21st, 2014…read more So much food. So many memories. El Mexicano is one of those places that was located in a weird spot. It was on the corner of a street away from a commercial district but not quite in a residential area. Tim, Matt, and I pulled up for an early dinner one evening and were greeted by some friendly workers. We placed our orders at the counter and took a seat at one of the few empty tables. There were a few others in the restaurant but due to the sheer small size, it felt packed with just the few of us in there. As with a lot of Mexican places, we had our food out in front of us before we even had time to really dig in to a random topic. Not only was it cooked exceptionally fast but the sheer amount of food was borderline nonsense for the price we paid. You gotta start somewhere, so I started by eating the extra goodies that came with my burrito. It was a combination of rice, refried beans (?) and some salad stuff topped with sour cream, I think. Scarfing down the sides was easy as the food was pretty good aside from the bean paste stuff. That was a bit dry. After priming my stomach for the main course by downing the side stuff, I used my fork and knife to cut in to the burrito. As is the norm at these places, the burritos are massive. Like, this is half the size of a loaf of bread. It's gut-busting sized. But, I was able to use my knife and fork to shovel down most of the burrito. I had to tap out at about 1/4 left as I just couldn't do it. The food was just too much. I think my meal was under $10 so to get full for that much is an incredible value in my book. The burrito was on par with the side stuff. It was good, if not borderline great. El Mexicano would've definitely been a place I would revisit if they were still open. It didn't help that we put down a ton of chips and salsa in between bites as well. I love chips and salsa. Matt was in the same boat as me. Unable to finish. Tim was the victor and put down all his stuff and then some more of the chips and salsa. The man is a beast when he wants to be. So, it was a sad day when I was doing some searching around on Google and discovered El Mexicano had closed. Here is a link to an article the local newspaper did on it closing, if you are interested. I was surprised to see it had been in the area for 16 years. At that point, it becomes a staple to the area.
