It was heavy on the vinegar and I loved the tanginess of the vinegar that gave it a bite at the end. Second, the queso was what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Third, I got the Gordo burrito. It's called Gordo for a reason but the meat you need to stuff it with for an upcharge is the carnitas. The carnitas are done extremely well as they are a solid pulled pork with a Mexican flair. I did think the sauces that topped the burrito were a little weak. My wife got enchiladas. They were pretty small but rather tasty. Overall, Tres Amigos was pleasing and I would return for the salsa and carnitas.

I would have enjoyed the lovely patio, but it also looked like it was about to rain! Our server was very nice and gave some excellent recommendations. Instead of chips and salsa, we were served their potato flautas. It was a nice change of pace. I usually fill up on chips and salsa and can't finish my main entree. For the table, my brother ordered a house special entree - Mariscada Valero's - which is a variety of sautéed seafood served with tortillas. It was perfect for sharing with our four person group. For my main dish, I ordered the skirt steak tacos with coconut rice on the side. I love coconut and I love rice. Who knew they go together so well! The skirt steak was cooked perfectly. I had my leftovers for breakfast and the skirt steak was still tender! I did try the lobster tacos (my sister-in-law's favorite). They were yummy - although a bit spicy. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it! Overall, we were really happy with everything. I will definitely make it a point to come here on my next visit!

I was skeptical but I like trying places so we gave it a go. Well...we were pleasantly surprised! It was a large restaurant with different eating areas, gambling in a small room. The bathrooms were cold but clean and smelled of cleaning. To the food. We had to ask for our waitress as I don't think they knew who was to work our table since we waited a while and they kept passing us up. We started with an app of a bread with chorizo and cheese served with a cheese sauce. Loved it. Along came our flight of margaritas which lasted through the meal. The chips were crisp and the salsa fresh. I got the steak with salsa and melted cheese and it came with avocado, rice and beans. Not really a rice person but this rice was good. The whole pinto beans had a nice flavor. I scooped some refried beans from my friends' plate and they were seasoned as well. She also liked the burrito. There is a parking lot but it looks like the restaurant can hold more. We just beat the dinner rush so we were able to park fine and get seated quickly.

If you are looking for something more like a family restaurant, far removed from the tourist areas in almost any Mexican city or town, then you have found the right place. The place is clean.
