Food is good nice size burritos I have eaten a lot at the old location and once at the new one takes a little while to get the food though. So the service can take a little while. I like the atmosphere at the old location but happy we still have this restaurant. read more

A good choice if you're looking for a local meal instead of a chain. The highlight was the delicious, tender meat in the tongue taco. The pulled chicken in the enchilada also had a nice texture, but everything else was pretty bland. I'm sure they're meeting what the customer base in a small Indiana town likes. I was adding salt, not just hot sauce, to my beans, rice, and enchilada. The pork in the taco was just ok, with ordinary seasoning. Amazingly low prices and quick, polite service. We would come back and get more lengua! read more

Last time I tried this place was in 2022, thought we'd give it a try again. I was unimpressed then. Carry out order was 25 minutes late, gave me a 30-35 minute target it was 55 minutes. Easy to forgive if they were busy, but there were two dine in tables and 4 other carry outs were picked up. Strange to me that all those people waited a couple of minutes as if their order came out as expected. An extra 25 minute wait and the order was wrong and some of it cold. Ground beef taco dinner was supposed to be cheese only came with lettuce tomato sour cream and cheese. Tamale, cold. Sopes, cold. The steak was full of fatty pieces. Outrageous. In my opinion this is a last resort meal that you go for the margaritas when you want to just walk home. read more

Food is amazing . Little inside so sometimes a wait. Margaritas not great. We have never had anything we didn't like!

Follow up review from one a few years ago. Was rated good then, remains very good now. Best queso in the region. Huge, huge burrito. Everything else completely satisfying and enjoyable. Note that it's a very small place which is as popular with the area residents as it is with us. Best prices in the region, too. Definitely give it a try if you are looking for Mexican food, none of which was too spicy hot. read more

Amazing food best Mexican in the area! Service is great and the people are super friendly!

My favorite restaurant in Demotte! I love their Mexican tacos and cheese dip. They are always friendly and courteous, I have never had a bad experience dining here. It's a small place with lots of love in it! read more

Absolutely awesome! Had a chimichanga and a chile relleno's that were phenomenal and my husband had the pork tacos! Will be back

Very reasonably priced quality food! Their salsa is delish, quac and queso both good!

First time stopping here, and I will be back! Small town Mexican spot hits the spot!! Small dinning area, with very pleasant, friendly and attentive staff. Huge serving of queso for only $4.50! Salsa was so good too. Got the shrimp chimichanga and the servings were very large. Pleasantly surprised and will be back again! Highly recommend! read more

Food is great but I was very let down with the manager last week. My daughter and I dined in and we bought a few normal selections of chicken and steak items. We ate and all was good... until about an hour later when I became dizzy and started vomitting. Im highly allergic to fish and assumed they must've cross contaminated something. so, I contacted the Manager to let them know to be more careful. I was terribly sick but someone else might die if that happens to them. Her reply was "we cook our fish and everything on the same grill. So for next time keep that in mind." Thats okay if it's posted somewhere. Or maybe they could put it in their menu? Some type of notice should be visible to all customers who go there. It's not up to the customer to ensure safety. Her lack of concern was very disappointing. I wasn't looking for a refund but I admit it woukdve been nice. Heck, I would've been happy with an apology and invite back where she'd make certain the food was cooked safely. But no. I got nothing except I need to be more aware next time. read more

Best queso cheese in the world good service but usually is a little crowded amazing food and overall just a great restaurant

It's SOoO good! Margaritas are great! The chips and salsa is very good, and they are very good about keeping them filled up. Sometimes because they are so popular and usually pretty busy you may have to wait a little bit but it's worth the wait and just another reason to enjoy the delicious chips and salsa. Service is very good you may want to try to go earlier in the evening if you don't want to have to wait but worst case it's like 30 mins from order time if they are slammed. Try not to sit by the door in the winter, it gets a little cold. read more

A quaint little place with wonderful food. I definitely enjoyed it. I wish they had Horchata, that would have made it a 5 star. My fish taco was excellent, nice solid fish that is cooked on the flat top and not fried, wonderfully flavored. My shrimp taco was excellent as well, the shrimp had that lovely snap when you bite into perfectly cooked shrimp. Full of flavor and very fresh tasting. My brother and friend also enjoyed their food as well. The service was good as well. though the Ambiance could use some stepping up. It felt very aged and there were boxes of stuffed stacked everywhere. At the end we find out the cooks are authentic mexican cooks. I would come back here again for sure. read more

Burritos Jalisco - Shrimp taco and fish taco - Mexican Near Me - Demotte, Indiana

I have not revisited this establishment, and have no intention of doing so, but I wanted to change my rating to a one-star review. When I initially wrote this review, it was just to rant about our experience, but now that I've started writing more reviews on Yelp, I realize this has to be the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. For that reason, I'm changing it to a one. read more

Value of meal is good. Quality of food is excellent. Service has been slow (or highly variable) since covid-19.

I'm going to be blunt - I found this to be a creepy little place. It just feels unclean when you come in - icky. Had I used the washroom before we ate, we would have just left - really bad and as it was a Saturday, they had just opened. Not sure how often it is cleaned. Server could not pronounce nor spell one of the items we ordered - friendly person but odd to me had no idea how to spell an item on the menu and when it was ordered, had to show her as she had no idea what we were ordering. Btw, said dish was made totally incorrect. read more

Love this place! Good food, great service and hassle free. Steak tacos and the salsa is my favorite but the other food is good too. Just a great place to go for some great Mexican food. read more

The food was really good dishes were washed well and very good service and its right by my home town so it was nice.

Consistently excellent food, at affordable prices. We order from here frequently, I highly recommend them

In town for the "Touch of Dutch" festival, we stopped at a nice little restaurant on North Halleck Street in DeMotte late in the evening. Great food that would have cost $40(+) back in LA, was about $20. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The best part of our visit was the service. Both of the girls working on Friday night (Dianna and Melena I think...) were attentive, pleasant and just all-around excellent. In a time where great service often seems to be a thing of the past, these two girls were a nice flashback to better times. read more

Staff was very friendly but the meat had ZERO flavor. Guacamole was good and the salsa was good, but the food in general was very bland.

Amazing food every time ! Always consistent with its quantity and it so delicious. Always busy so it shows the request for food they get. Their land and sea is is so good and for a quick snack I love going in on Tuesday for there taco Tuesday specials with my friends. read more

Burritos Jalisco - She loves her food - Mexican Near Me - Demotte, Indiana

Tasty food, good portions. Great place for authentic Mexican food. Nice to be able to sit and eat or order out. Prices are decent

Yes, nothing fancy about the decor, it is a little hole in the wall, once in a while, when it's busy and the young kids are working, they may get something wrong, but for the taste and portions of food this is the best I've ever hand in mexican ! I've probably eaten in over 1000 places being a former truck driver and living near Chicago most of my life. The salsa and pico are AWESOME too ! Price is reasonable. I also have had great experience with the normal waitress ( love her !) and the younger kids I joke with, even when they make a mistake ! read more

Under new management and boy what a difference from the last owners. I used to live close to East Chicago Harbor and could always get great Hispanic food, so excited to have this great authentic restaurant in DeMotte! New phone # 219-987-4287 read more

Worst service I've ever received in my life! My husband called an order in. Waitress on phone told him he was being difficult AND still got all of our order WRONG!!! Will not be eating there again. She was rude and treated my husband horrible. If she can't be polite to people, maybe she should get a knew job because she sucks as a waitress. read more

Came here on a Monday evening with my family which includes 5 grandchildren all under the age of 5. The food was good which is why I gave it 2 stars. Our waitress was less than enthused with our party of 6 adults and 5 kids. Mumbling f-bombs under her breath. Then there was another waitress fighting with her demanding her tips so she could go home. She was repeatedly shouting out f-bombs. It's a small restaurant and everyone heard this woman making a complete fool of herself. Several people came in and heard the fighting and left. We won't be back. Too many other wonderful places in DeMotte to eat at with fantastic employees to put up with that. To top it off two people were sick the next day. read more

I love their steak tacos rice and beans. They also have good burritos. The service is great there.

I love the food! My favorite place to ear in DeMotte! Our servers have always been friendly and helpful. Serving size is good!

when my friend dined then 8/11 about 8pm he left a tip of $5 cash on table and went up to pay his $15 food bill. The cashier saw that there was no tip written in the receipt line of his debt card pay and proceeded to call him a "cheap ass" as he walked away with his friend over hearing this. I wonder how she felt when she went to her waitress friend to find out he left a generous cash tip. I won't go to this establishment if the staff will throw insults! read more

My husband and I eat there last night. It was amazing, very authentic Mexican food. we had the Gordo burrito, it was great and huge. the steak tacos were awesome, the steak was so tender. The original owners had much better concepts of authentic Mexican Cuisine. The prices have increased drastically. The salsa is way different. The original owners crafted hot salsa that was very spicy and uniquely flavored. The new salsa is heavily doused with lime juice and not very spicy. I recall stopping in just for the chips and hot salsa back in the original days. The beef tacos were alright and edible and had some flavor, but yet the originals were better, with a bolder more seasoned flavor. All in all it is okay. I wish the original recipes were still being served. read more
