So I just started going to the practice in May and the doctors and staff were nice. My only issue has been with trying to schedule a surgery procedure. When I left my appointment in June, I was told I would get a call to schedule my procedure. A week went by and I didn't hear from anyone and so I sent a message through the portal and I was told to provide dates for months of when my cycle is and dates that I'm free. So I provided dates for July and August. The person who does the scheduling said they would get back to me. A week went by and I didn't hear anything and I followed up( this was in July) .They told me they set alert with the hospital with my dates and will let me know. Another two weeks went by and i followed up. I have to give advance notice when taking off from my job and I need to have coverage. I sent this message on 07/21 and They did get back to me on 7/23 said they had a single date in August they could do but due to work conflicts I couldn't take off of work to do the procedure. I asked if there is any dates available for September or October. I sent that message on 07/23, I didn't hear back so I followed up again on 08/15 if there were any dates available in November or December. Then today I got a message saying my message couldn't be delivered. I don't know the medical world and so I'm not sure how things are done but I feel like it shouldn't take months to try to just schedule a surgery. Yes I understand the procedure could be months away but just scheduling seems to be a lot. The communication hasn't been great, I get we're all busy and things come up but this has just become frustrating. This experience doesn't make me feel very comfortable having a procedure done with this practice and so I'll be looking for a new office read more

I put my trust in a relative when choosing this provider so I can have my first child. This business wasn't my first choice, but okay. Firstly, Dr. Pereira is the WORST. I am sorry, but maybe in another line of work, this would have been a better encounter, but this was one of the worst medical professionals I've met in my life. During the prenatal appointments, I was a student in college during this time, trying to get my STEM degree, and I asked her to sign off on a permission form approving that in case anything medical-related to my pregnancy happened while I was attending classes, I was excused. But, NO. Dr. Pereira DID NOT find any reason for me to have my rights as a PREGNANT FEMALE to be excused from academic matters in case of unforeseen events. I TOTALLY felt like I had access to my (academic and medical) rights during that time. (No, not really). Secondly, she was fine with the check-ups, but her personality was cold. When I tried to ask more questions about the baby and the procedures, she shot down my questions very, very quickly, as if I shouldn't be asking anything because I am not a medical profession and so on and so forth. When my boyfriend at the time tried to speak up too, same thing, she shot him down. Did not answer questions well and we both agreed she was just "ehhh." Luckily, I didn't have her for every prenatal appointment (because eventually, I personally asked to not have her), and felt more comforted by Dr. Fisk and Victoria Synder. Thank you both for your help. When my due date was near, I specifically kept making sure with the office that Dr. Pereira would not be the one to deliver my baby. Fortunately, she was not, but here is the worst and the last of her nightmare to me. In the early week of October, I called the tepeyac emergency line to get in hold with a doctor to let them know I was bleeding (letting them know basically should I go to the hospital). Good god, because Dr. Pereira answered, and once I told her about the bleeding, she basically said something along the lines of this: "It's nothing. It's nothing, Just continue getting rest." This did not help and the next day, I almost gave birth in my bathroom. This call was also done at like 10:00 P.M at night. Thank god though, before my contractions were getting really bad the following day, Dr. Fisk answered after I told my boyfriend to call the emergency line from the office again, and he immediately suggested to go to the nearest hospital. So, that's what I did. And, I gave birth to my son so fast, they called it a precipitous labor. I had good moments with this office and some workers, but this worker, Dr. Pereira, was the worst. Thanks to everyone who ACTUALLY helped. My son is alive because of you. read more

I highly recommend checking other options for prenatal care in the area. I'm Catholic, pro-life, and mistakenly told myself this was the only option when pregnant with my first. Although the doctors were generally personable, I received significantly better care with the midwives at GW and would just encourage anyone who is expecting not to feel stuck with any practice if it's not treating you as a whole person. Besides my dissatisfaction with the care I received -- much of which I realized was poor only in retrospect when I went to the GW midwives for my second pregnancy -- the billing was a nightmare. I was told I owed random amounts at every visit, they always contradicted my insurance rep's info, and records of past payments seemed extremely disorganized. Luckily I keep all my receipts and HSA payments are easily called up online! 4 years later I get a letter confirming what I always thought: I had overpaid by several hundred dollars. I'm still waiting for the promised repayment. Here's just one example of how the care I got at Tepeyac differed from the midwives: At a routine check up about halfway through pregnancy when asked if I was having any problems, I mentioned low back pain. The Tepeyac doc basically gave me a patronizing pat on the head and said welcome to pregnancy -- this from a man. When the same concern got brought up with the midwives, they said: that's common but not normal. That might indicate something about the baby's position we need to keep an eye on. Let's look closer. Do you always see feet poking out like that? Looks like the baby is sitting with his spine against yours. Do these inversions whenever you can. And oh look, you've got a diastasis. Here's all the info on that. Here's what you can do for it. Here's how we'll try to compensate for that once you go into labor. We'll work extra hard to get that baby positioned optimally for exit. Here's info on physical therapy for that postpartum, and you or your PT can just call for a referral from us, no need to come in. The result: with Tepeyac I had an unplanned c-section for a 9 lb baby. I'm 5'1 with narrow hips and was told he just got "stuck." With the midwives I had a drug-free VBAC and delivered a 10 lb baby. I've been struggling with excruciating pain during my menstrual cycle and I finally made an appointment to go see a doctor about it. PCOS runs in my family, but my symptoms didn't seem to match up with that syndrome. I started doing my research and was worried that I might have endometriosis. I went to my first ever appointment today and felt confident with the facility because my mom had such great things to say about this place. And not to mention, they're Catholic and pro-life! When I was brought back into the room, the nurse was very nice and encouraging and told me to take a deep breath because I was so nervous. The nurse left and said that the doctor will be right in. It took the doctor about 10-15 minutes to come in. And I get it, they have other patients to deal with. Once the doctor came in, she seemed rushed and like my time didn't matter. I couldn't fully describe my symptoms because she kept cutting me off and implying that I was wrong about feeling the way I feel. She gave me false information about condoms and made me feel horrible for being sexually active. She talked down on me and made me feel stupid. After trying to describe my symptoms, she said she would give me a strong painkiller for my cramps because she can't prescribe me birth control because I'm currently sexually active. She then said she would perform an ultrasound, which I thought she would do within a few minutes, but that wasn't the case. The doctor left and came back with papers then told me to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy and to come back in 2-3 MONTHS for an ultrasound! I was unsatisfied and I sobbed once I got out of the building because I was so emotionally overwhelmed and the fact that I STILL don't know what's wrong with me. Their billing is the WORST. When you look at the review, notice the date and year. Good reviews seems to come from over 5 years ago and their performance has declined over the years. I went here for my first baby in 2018 and got a genetic testing cost of $18000. Yes, you read it correctly, no extra zeroes there. Talk about stressing pregnant lady out with a bill like that! After many phone calls, the lab made it to $200. Still expensive, but less crazy. What an unnecessary stress! I wanted to switch, but apparently once you are into certain weeks, it's hard to switch care provider. In my recent visit, 2/2020, they did a test on a swab from the private area. Cost of the swab lab test? $910. I am not kidding. I am working on rectifying that, but when I call billing, it says it will get back to me 1-2business days. If you have HSA, don't go here. You will leave with more pain than before you go. They don't tell you when they use out of network lab even when their practice itself are considered in network provider on your insurance. My insurance rep told me they should have checked and let me know. I did not have this type of issue with any other doctors I went to. read more

I need to admit, I was not to happy with at least one of the Physicians of this practice, even after being recommended. I was not at all impressed with one of the Doctors demeanor, when we were seen, my wife explicitly told the practice she wanted I to be present, since that would make her more comfortable. This in it's self seemed to bother the Doctor, I could see it in the facial features and the way the conversation continued even more when I asked a question, also the physician seemed annoyed finding out I also was a Physician. One thing that bothered me the most was that the doctor ordered an exam that was invasive to a female patient, which was done, and to this day the physician/practice NEVER CALLED WITH THE RESULTS, since we did receive a copy, I had to explain to my wife the results, also even after requested a copy was never sent to our Primary care Physician. On another note the same Physician treated our daughter, again she had to call for the results of her labs, and our daughter told the physician of a type of medication she reacts to negatively, and the first thing this Physician did was prescribe a similar medication [of the same family] to what she asked not to do. Almost immediately, our daughter got ill, she brought the medication to me, I asked her to call the triage nurse, that put her on hold 4 times in the visit and told her not to worry that this medication would do that even after she said she had a history with this type of medication, and to no avail. I told my daughter to suspend the treatment immediately, and she took nearly a week to feel functional again. I am not a Physician that talks in a negative manor to any of my colleagues, but the utter disregard to to the patient history, and added to a very poor Doctor/Patient relationship, and communication with this particular Physician that I will not name to not be disrespectful, but I was uphauled in what I seen with 2 patients, I told our daughter as well as my wife asked, and we/ her will not be returning to this practice ever again. Not very clean. I wish I had shopped around more, but with this being my first pregnancy, I didn't know any better. The bathrooms where you leave your urine sample are always filthy with hair and wet puddles everywhere. The actual exam rooms are also always dirty- each time I've gone in, there's someone's hair on the floor and on the exam table which makes me think they don't wipe anything down. The doctors themselves are nice and mostly helpful which is what's most important. They penalize you for being 10 minutes late, but keep you waiting for up to 45 minutes just to be seen. read more

I swear on my life, this is the best doctors office I've ever been to! I had a MC, and Dr. Fisk and Dr. B were so kind hearted and were genuinely concerned for my well being. They went into deep detail on what happened, answered every question I had and unlike every doctors office I've been to, I did not feel rushed at all. I updated them every couple days or at least every week on how I was doing. If I had any questions I would call the nurse and she would call back within 30 minutes. Trust me, she was EXTREMELY good at calling back. The ladies that work in the front are so sweet as well! Honestly, everyone was! The facility is so clean and updated. I took my mom there for routine Pap smear a few weeks ago. We were trying to schedule appointment with Dr Anderson originally but her schedule was full and we didn't want to wait long so we picked Dr Perrera. Well, it was a very bad decision. Dr Perrera was very rude and rough. During the exam, my mom kept telling Dr Perrera that she's in pain but Dr P told her that it's normal to feel pain . She didn't stop the procedure despite my mom's moaning. My mom told me that she never had such pain before for Pap smear. A week later, the office called and told us to return to redo the Pap smear. Apparently, Dr Perrera messed up the exam. My mom was more scared than mad to redo the exam because of the nightmare she just had with Dr Perrera. However, I scheduled the second appointment with Dr Anderson, and everything went very smoothly. Dr Anderson showed my mom a little trick during the exam and my mom didn't feel any discomfort. She was so relieved at the end of her appointment. Thanks to Dr Anderson. She is awesome! I would advise to avoid Dr Perrera, she has bad attitude and she's unsympathetic and incompetent. P.S my mom was hurt by Dr P during the first Pap smear and developed infection. Dr Anderson had to give my mom antibiotic Rx. Unbelievable! read more

I have gone to Tepeyac periodically over the years and my opinion has changed. I really appreciate their commitment to being pro-life, however this is the only good thing I can say. Their staff has no sense of urgency - when you need a blood test, a prescription, a lab order, etc. at a certain time on a certain day (i.e., you have to get your blood drawn exactly 3 days past ovulation, or something), they take their leisurely sweet time and don't seem to care if you end up waiting until the next business day --or week. There are two staff members whose bedside manner was particularly lacking, and there was no compassion for my multiple pregnancy losses. As someone who is very passionate about the pro-life cause, it makes me sad that their standard of care is mediocre. They need to seriously step it up! read more

I have been a patient at Tepeyac since 2008. I also agree with Liz: they treat the cause (I also had the problem of doctors only wanting to treat the symptoms). I like them so much that I rent a Zipcar and drive out from the District for this OBGYN practice. I have seen Dr. Miriam Pereira and Dr. Lorna Cvetkovich, both were great. Right off the bat, from my very first appointment, they took me seriously (previous experiences from other practices did not) and ordered blood work, etc. to gain an understanding. A word to the wise: be on-time. I was once 8 minutes late when I checked in (darn traffic on 66!) and they weren't sure if they would be able to fit me in. They called the doctor to ask if she would be able to take me. Yes, 8 minutes. The most that I've had to wait to be seen by the doctor is 15 minutes after the start of the appointment time. read more

This may be a bit of a personal review but I HAVE to share it. I was recommended to Tepeyac Family Center from a girlfriend who has given birth to both her sons here. I typically go to another place and do not go here since I mainly go for Birth Control and they do not do that. However in early 2012 I got pregnant and was on medicaid and they accepted it. I took the chance to go right away. I had an emergency at probably midnight one night with bleeding and called the emergency doctor and got a call back within 10 minutes reassuring me that they would be there for me and the doctor was so comforting. I was seen the next morning right away and went home because the bleeding stopped. I suffered a miscarriage later on that evening and was at the emergency room when they confirmed it. I went back to the Tepeyac Family Center for my follow up and make sure that everything was okay and they were so sympathetic, caring, genuine and everything that I needed at that time. (I am tearing up just writing this at how compassionate they were towards me when I felt like I had nobody. 2 years later and i remember with detail how amazing they were to me and it still brings me to tears.) The nurse not only comforted me but held my hand as I cried and told me her personal story and reassured me that it was not the end of the world and that this happens to a lot of women and it doesn't mean that I can't have children. Next time that I get pregnant and am in the NOVA area (give or take 40 minutes- because i WILL make the drive) i guarantee that I would come here and have them deliver my future child/children. I have an amazing experience with them that I will never forget how amazing they were through such a terrible time of mine. The receptionist was prompt, courteous and so friendly. The nurses and doctors were amazing and made me feel like they had seen me for years and took care of me like they were going through it too. read more

I meant to write this review ages ago, but never got around to it. Tepeyac doctors saved my life. I had a complication with serious bleeding after delivery and thanks to their responsiveness, Dr. Anderson saved me! Mind this was also at like 4AM and Dr. Anderson was there. Also, they work very closely with Inova Fair Oaks for deliveries, which is a great hospital. I had a great experience there, albeit a near death one. You do rotate through all the doctors during your OB visits, but that's a good thing so you get to know all of them. Also, if you're in the hospital for a little longer like me, they rotate the visits as well so they all came to check on me during their daily rounds. I was working in D.C. and still drove all the way out to Fairfax to go see them. They are definitely worth it. read more

Meh. I've experienced better. I really appreciate the mission of Tepeyac. I would LOVE to patronize fellow Catholics that share the same beliefs as I do. However, I could not stand the inefficiency with which the practice is run. I have been in customer service, I understand that there are a lot of things to do and that you have to be patient. But I would call, wait the promised 24 hours and nothing. Wait for 36 hours. Wait for 48 hours, and call. Wait again. Wait. Wait. I was on a schedule for taking a certain prescription and started calling a month ahead for a refill just so that I would have it in time. I also had a really difficult time getting clear cut answers or directions from my doctor. Nice lady but our communication was incredibly weak. I have had other friends say similar things about the same doctor. I had wanted to just shrug off Tepeyac as something that wasn't for me. It was kind of a hike for me anyway and so I transferred somewhere closer to where we live. And so began the saga with trying to get my medical records. We are meeting with a fertility specialist and I requested my records a month ago knowing that it would take 5-10 business days to get them sent to my office. I had them sent, called to confirm they had the paperwork, and began the 5-10 business day wait. At 11 business days I called to check on the status. "I'm sorry they haven't been done yet. There were people ahead of you." Albeit, they sent them that day which I was very thankful for, but seriously?And here's the kicker; I went through my records. Incomplete. The one thing that I had actually wanted from them was a sonogram that was not in the packet that my doctors office received. Sigh. I believe that Tepeyac is a wonderful place with a beautiful mission. It is just run poorly. Maybe it is better for Obstetrics as my visits were gynecology. read more

I've been going to Tepeyac for years. All the doctors have been extremely professional and personable. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

This maybe long bare with me but my service here was AWFUL. Would NOT recommend to anyone . I started going here at the beginning of my pregnancy, the first few problems i had were them messing up my scheduling. Then rude doctors. Dr. Pererra had an attitude BOTH times I had seen her, anytime I asked questions she looked at me like I was stupid and answered them RUDLY , when I was telling her about some issues I had been having (almost passing out multiple times, my heart racing , body feeling weak all at once & a few other things ) she just looked at me almost as if she was irritated and said "you're fine, probably high blood pressure or it's your blood sugar" and let me go, do didn't even check my pressure or sugar . The last straw was recently (I am 22 weeks as of now) I went in at 19W3D for my 20 weeks scan, they told me everything was perfect and sent me on my way. I got a call from them a few days later saying they need to redo my sonogram and when I asked why she said "oh nothing , just need to get a measurement" well that was a lie. I switched doctors recently , they called me and told me my Amniotic Fluid levels were low and that I need to go see a high risk doctor before I see them. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Tepeyac by not informing me on something so important as to low Levels of Amniotic Fluid for my son. My new doctor was shocked that they didn't tell me and said they should have given me a heads up so I can hydrate more to try and help with the problem until I can be seen. It's been 3 WEEKS since I had seen them, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone & I will never return . read more

I have seen each of the doctors at TEPYAC and all of them have been helpful. My husband and I chose this practice to care for me and deliver our baby in April 2012. Each doctor spent time talking to us at every appointment and never seemed rushed to get the appointment over, just caring and truly wanting to help. During my labor the doctor spent time talking with my husband and me, not just showing up at the last minute to catch the baby (and that has happened to me before) even though he was there from 7 am to very late in the day (actually next day). Looking at others reviews, I would agree that the front office staff frequently changes, but not all of them. I have never had any experience with any of the staff being short or rude, though I have felt that some things could have been handled better. This is no way takes away from the care that all of the doctors there provide. The only negative review is about birth control. They do not offer forms of birth control (they are pro-life) but are very helpful and knowledgeable and easy to talk to about it. I'm so happy that we chose TEPYAC and will continue to see the doctors there for my gyn visits. read more

UPDATE: DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. Original Review posted 4/6/2020: I went to Tepeyac to try and figure out some pain I've been having for quite a while. They ordered some blood tests which was fine but that seemed to be where they lost me. On both visits, I was told to sign up and take their Natural Family Planning class even though I told the doctor I've already taken one and that wasn't my concern. I was still told to sign up for the class and then to, "chart my cycle," for two months even though again, Natural Family Planning is not why I went to them. (added 4/7/2020: On the second appointment when I came in to go over the blood work that then merged into another sales pitch for their natural family planning class, I waited an hour and a half past my appointment time. So if you like to keep a schedule I do not recommend this practice.) When I left after the second appointment I felt frustrated and disappointed because I still didn't have any answers. Well, my frustrations have reached their peak because I received a bill for 300 dollars (Almost a month and a half later) for the 2 tubes of my blood they took. Not once was I told that the lab they used was out of my network and that I would be stuck paying 300 dollars to be told things I was already told by my general practitioner. (And those labs were only 18 dollars.) I think Tepeyac's mission and compassion towards everyone is great. I think what they stand for is magnificent. However, as a woman who works full time with no children, and no current plans to have any children, I am not happy with them. If they only wanted to see women actively trying to get pregnant or who are already pregnant, then they should be more honest about that on their website. Just be sure to do your research before seeing them. UPDATE 4/7/2020: The billing department called me back and I spoke to a woman named Jennifer who instead of being apologetic or trying to listen kept blaming me and interrupting me while discussing the previously mentioned 300 dollar lab bill. Do not go here. They do not care about new patients or being honest. I have never been to your practice before so, when the Dr. tells me to return here for labs that is what I will do. If the front desk tells me I have to return to the practice for labs, that is what I will do. Jennifer, after the fact while being very condescending, telling me I should have made sure the lab was in network before I came back is not helpful. The staff should have mentioned that the lab was not affiliated with Tepeyac in the slightest because again, as a new patient, how would I know that? So I am now 370 dollars out of pocket to have no answers and to be spoken to like a child. I do NOT recommend this practice. read more

I'm conflicted with writing this review. On one hand, I appreciate that they are a non-profit practice that takes low-income pregnant clients. Very few ob/gyn clinics in the area do that. But that's where the appreciation ends. This is not a practice that is supportive of client choices. They are very one-size-fits-all, and clearly not used to patients doing their own research on health matters. In fact, they are downright hostile towards patients who question them. They will kick you out of the practice if you disagree with any of their "recommendations." (I put that word in quotations because you aren't given a choice.) They do not care if you are a day away from your due date -- they will refuse to do your delivery if you question them in any way. With one of the pregnancies, I was only in my 39th week and was already getting threatening phone calls from them for not just scheduling a c-section. Dr. Anderson actually told me I would be kicked out of the practice for not scheduling one. She tells me this, knowing there isn't another doctor anywhere who's going to take a new patient at 39 weeks. She then says if I can make up some documents showing that I'm not as far along as I am, she'll reconsider (like an old calendar with dates circled for my last period). This was her telling me to lie! I called her out on that unethical proposition and she made it sound like I should be grateful she was giving me the option to lie to get what I want. The thing is, I wasn't refusing a c-section -- I just simply wanted another week to see if I could go into labor naturally with what had been a healthy pregnancy. If that failed, I was fine with a c-section. I could go on and on about the misery I suffered under the "care" of that person (including feeling the first cut of my c-section, because she hadn't bothered to make sure I was properly anesthetized) -- just message me if you want to know more. If you're going to go here, make sure to tell them your birth plan at the first appointment. Be sure they are supportive of it. Because they won't discuss it with you until you're too far along to find another doctor. Two big things -- know that they are not supportive of VBACs (even though they'll tell you they are) or of letting anyone go past her due date (even though their handouts says you're allowed to go up to 42 weeks). And while most of them are all smiles most of the time -- just try and disagree with their "recommendations." The head of the clinic -- who normally is a nice guy -- was viciously unkind after simply questioning one of the tests they wanted to give me with my last pregnancy. "Go somewhere else, if you don't like it." Telling him I was already 30 weeks and wouldn't be able to get another doctor to take me on -- I got berated with lovely responses like "tough, it's not my problem," "you need to grow up," and "you clearly have issues with doctors." I sat in his office in tears, waiting for some expression of sympathy from him that never came. He even insinuated I was lying about my medical history -- just absolute insanity, with no basis. I will never go here for another pregnancy. I've even donated to them in the past. Sorry, but never again. read more

The doctors don't make you feel as though their competent. One doctor will say one thing and then another will contradict that statement. They will not listen to your concerns and instead try to give you a cookie cutter treatment. They will let you walk out with incomplete care, you will have to research what you are supposed to get at the appt. and hold them to it. They wrote incomplete prescriptions forcing me to be a courier back and forth between office and pharmacy. It was not until 2 weeks after my delivery (when i called and asked for a refill) that i was told i needed a 2 week followup. And lets not forget their inconvenient office hours. The office staff is poor at best. To sum up, poor bedside manner, poor customer service, low competence, inconvienent hours, bad office staff. Bottom line, find another doctor. Everyone here is pretty friendly, but I have never been too pleased with this place. They treat you like you're wasting their time and its their way or the highway. I've gone in several times with legitimate concerns and they kind of just brush them off or give you a 'one-size-fits-all' solution. I Love our OB'sat Tepeyac family center in Fairfax. In addition to the wonderful care I received through my pregnancies and childbirths, it was actually in the sad circumstance of a recent miscarriage that they really proved their worth to me. I'm not sure I would've received as compassionate care that respected the dignity of my baby and was as sympathetic for my emotions anywhere else. Also, because of their focus on the total health of the woman, I've had several friends facing infertility that were able to conceive naturally under the care of doctors at Tepeyac. I went here because it was the place ALL of my friends recommended (if they did have any OB-GYNs they thought highly of, this was the same name I heard). I went in for a second opinion when another provider wanted to jump to an expensive surgery. Not only are they really well mannered and nicer, they are also honest enough to say I need an invasive surgery I don't actually need. read more

Absolutely the best Obgyn practice I have ever been to. All the doctors take time with you, are knowledgable, and personable. Their practice also does wonderful community service. Dr. Anderson delivered our first son and she was competent and encouraging (I went unmediated and had a very good hospital birth experience). I highly recommend this Obgyn! read more

My wife had a baby last year and Kim delivered our daughter it was a great experience that my wife is going back to them now that she is pregnant again. We recommend this practice to everyone. All the doctors are amazing, friendly and caring. We have nothing but good things to say about this practice the only downside you do not get to pick the doctor that will deliver unless induce but luckily all the doctors are amazing and you would not go wrong with whoever will deliver. read more

I am the father and husband. My wife had a miracle baby at age 48. We were attending a secular doctor that tried to say my wife would never conceive and b/c of her count and age she was Peri-menopausal. When my wife spoke of our religious belief in the bible, the doctor said and I quote, " yeah, well that's just a book" I immediately told my wife to get dressed and we never returned to that office again. She found this faith based office that agreed with us even though the science looked otherwise. We conceived last November and they were great throughout the pregnancy at answering questions and believing with us for a healthy baby. All the doctors were great but Dr. Anderson went above and beyond the level of care to make us feel like family. My wife had to have a C-section but they did all they could to try to get Peanut (our baby's nickname b/c we didn't want to know the sex) to deliver vaginally. Dr. Anderson is tiny, but what a doctor, she pulled our gorgeous baby girl, Jasmine Michelle(healthy 40.5 wks. pregos and 8lbs. 3ozs. on delivery), into this world and followed up with her right until she had to take off for surgery on her foot. As a member of the board at Fair Oaks Hospital, Dr. Anderson also heard some of my concerns with the facility and some of its staff. I can honestly say, because of her, we will happily attend and recommend this office and hospital with no concerns to anyone seeking the highest quality of care and service. The office staff,sonotechs, and blood work techs made the place feel like home and genuinely cared about work schedules vs. appointment time. I dare you to find better in the NOVA and surrounding areas. Congrats on the new facility and our hopes for a smooth move. Thanks again Dr. Anderson and Dr. C. P.S. We plan to return to the other doctor's office with our daughter and a bible to explain that this Book is full of miracles: past, present and future. I feel bad that it has taken me nearly 8 months to leave a review for the wonderful physicians and staff at Tepeyac. I became a patient at Tepeyac 4 weeks into my first pregnancy. Throughout my 9 months, I received care that far exceeded my expectations. The doctors were patient, warm, and caring. I never felt rushed in my appointments and always left reassured with all of my questions answered (and this was a tall order for a worrier like me)! From my first appointment with Dr. B, Tepeyac made me feel like family. When I had any spotting or unusual symptoms, they thoroughly investigated and did everything necessary to reassure me that my baby and I were doing well. Dr. B treated me like family and is likely the reason I emotionally survived my pregnancy with some sanity in tact. Dr. Fisk even met me at the hospital twice at night to check on things when I called concerned. The sonagrapher on staff is incredibly skilled and kind, making the peeks at my baby even more special and enjoyable. When it came time to deliver, Dr. Pereira handled the entire situation perfectly. During a painful and stressful time, knowing I was in her skilled hands kept me calm. I can't say enough positive words about this wonderful place and those who work there. How wonderful to have found an OBGYN practice like Tepeyac! I saw Dr. Fisk and he is absolutely amazing. I've never met a doctor so caring, sympathetic, and kind, and obviously a great diagnostician. He, his nurse, and the staff listened to me and treated me with dignity, not something you always get, especially at the OBGYN (which seems strange, right?). I was low income, without insurance and in my first trimester of pregnancy. I was in the care of midwives who discovered I had a UTI. I was in a panic and tears after leaving the Health Department who couldn't help me because I was in my 1st Tri and working. They suggested I contact Tepeyac. Once they found out I was seeing a midwife for my prenatal care, they refused to see me at their practice. Mind you, I already had the test done and PPW to show the UTI, I just needed a prescription, which by law Midwives can't prescribe in Virginia. I was appalled by their decision and luckily found help in a Target Clinic. I have heard others in my circle who have also had bad experiences here. They might be a decent place, but how they handled my situation has put a really sour taste in my mouth. After all, they are supposed to be based on care and more religious like stuff. read more
