They needed to keep my Jeep overnight, and arranged a ride home for me within minutes. The next day my Jeep was ready on time, and they even took extra steps (again, never happens anywhere else) to ensure I wouldn't be experiencing any issues anytime soon. I then waited to receive paperwork via email to put my deposit down for the vehicle, since an agreement had been made. Later, I was informed that the vehicle had been sold out from under me AFTER I had already agreed to purchase the vehicle. My best guess (assuming positive intent on the saleswoman's part) is that she forgot to mark the car as sold, so it was mistakenly shown to another customer. Regardless, Gupton failed to honestly own up to their mistake, which was quite maddening. When I showed interest in a comparable vehicle, since the one I preferred was sold out from under me, Gupton dragged their feet on matching the deal we'd already agreed upon. Really bad impression of these guys -- not only failing to own up to their mistakes, but also not even making an effort to make it right with the customer... Too bad -- took my business to another Jeep dealership that was very pleasant and honest!

On Nov 19 as scheduled I brought my 2021 Trail Boss with a check engine light on for service. On December 13 I finally got the truck back. Only lacking 2 days being a Month! The truck has 23104 miles on it now and am crossing my fingers I don't need anything else other than an oil change! Terribly disappointed with the way I was treated by the employees of Payne Chevrolet they have lost my trust. Engine oil had to be changed every 5k miles instead of going by General Motors service guide. So they did not handle a transmission failure over an engine oil change. Furthermore, while working through this issue I was talked to as if I'm a child by their finance manager who told me how thankful I should be that they're willing to even consider paying for any part of this repair and how I need to be more responsible, this and that. Using condescending phrases and tone to make me feel as if I owe her and that I'm clearly irresponsible and she needs to educate me on how to handle myself. Basically scolding me and teaching me a lesson, as a 38 year old successful and professional man with a resume that would make her embarrassed had she known exactly who I am and what I do. I was completely disrespected and frankly I'm embarrassed for her and the business she represents. I called the general manager afterward and explained the situation to him, he assured me he'd take care of it. When I went there in person I attempted to have a professional conversation about my experience with said person, who immediately started yelling to get out of her office and started yelling for help. Saying she didn't say anything cross to me and she doesn't have to put up with me (Clearly she had not been spoken to about this by the manager as previously mentioned). While maintaining my position and composure, I waited for her and whoever she felt like she needed to return and continued to explain how I am a customer and I'm not satisfied with my experience and that I am absolutely within my rights to have this conversation with them or anyone they feel needs to be involved. I explained I'm calm and professional, and I don't have to be dismissed just because this person doesn't think she had to own her shortcomings. In conclusion, My experience was extremely disappointing and I can't suggest anyone do business with them. It's unfortunate that people must fight for basic respect as a paying customer.

    PREDATORY PRICING!!…read more Asked for a quote to do a spark plug insert. They called, and initially tried to sell a new or reman head, not recommending the FACTORY Ford fix. I personally did the repair on the cylinder necessary, but followed up with asking for a quote to fix the rest. Was quoted almost double the dealer fix, with stipulations that I provide the parts and sealants necessary. STAY AWAY!!! Half the phone call was telling me not to trust other people in the Clarksville area because they're incompetent. I think homie needs to look in the mirror if he thinks he can charge almost double without providing anything but labor. Got a quote from a different mobile mechanic in Clarksville (with good reviews) to do a preventative insert repair for the remaining 7 cylinders for less than the cost of one single cylinder from Free Agent. I rarely post a review, but felt it necessary to warn anyone considering this company. Would give zero stars if I could. Edit: to address this laughable attempt to save face, going to respond point by point. 1. dealerships absolutely guarantee their work. Part of the reason to consider the dealer instead of some idiot mobile mechanic. 2. Your pricing is predatory bc you spent almost 20 minutes on the phone call telling me not to trust anyone else. Someone scared of losing their only vehicle may fall for this trap, it's unethical and a terrible business tactic. 3. Yes you work in the elements like anyone else who CHOOSES to do so. You can't charge more for having to deal with weather. Let alone not bringing tools, parts, sealants, anything but your hands. I did the job outside in the weather perfectly fine, no one is giving me any accolades for doing so. 4. Mobile mechanics have always charged less, that's the draw to use you instead of dealers. 5. Suggesting / insisting on a new head may give more assurance that the repair is solid, but is not necessary without attempting an insert, as that is THE FACTORY FIX. If you are too incompetent to do the job, just admit that. 6. To call yourself the Ferrari of mobile mechanics with one yelp review (probably from a family member or friend) is the best joke I've heard all year.
