Tender was a wonderful highlight in our stay in Moneglia. Situated right across from the water, it's a causal but classy spot that was very quiet and calm during our stay in May. The waitresses were among the friendliest people we met in Italy-- they were very attentive and asked us about our stay.
We got a meat plate appetizer which had a variety of thinly sliced meats. I really have no idea what most of them were, but they were good. It would have been nice to accompany the meats with some cheese, but this plate only came with meat.
They also brought out fresh bread for free, and we asked the waitress if we could have some olive oil and balsamic to pair it with, and she graciously agreed. I got the fried calamari for my main dish, which came with french fries and lemon slices, and was so unbelievably delicious. It had the perfect fry on it without being overwhelmed with batter. I would very strongly recommend coming for this dish.
We rounded out the meal with tiramisu, which was also crazy good. So light and fluffy, without the graininess that you sometimes find with cheap tiramisu. I absolutely loved it.
Finally, the waitress came by and asked if we'd want limoncello shots to end the meal, and we said yes please. These ended up being totally free-- just a kind gesture on their part. Also, limoncello burns like tequila. Just so you know.
Definitely stop by if you're in Moneglia! read more
