Anyway, 2025, I finally made it in. It's a small shop with mostly made objects and some vintage things thrown in. I think they also print a lot of stuff using vintage prints - I could be wrong? Anyway the store is tiny - at least when stuffed with people - which is a good problem to have but does make perusing all the lovely trinkets a bit hard. It's mostly trinkets. Stationary, plates, jewelery, keychains, toys, bits and bobs. The kind of store you can find almost anyone a gift but mostly walk away with fun stuff for yourself. Prices were mostly reasonable and I like that the items were overall unique to the store! It was beautifully decorated for the holidays and they also had a plethora of ornaments for sale. The staff was nice. I love their branding. Their other store is Greatest Hits (I also have a review of this I believe). But yeah it's a cool spot, check it out while you're in media !

FDC and I were in the area so we decided to check out the new digs. The shopping center it's located in is large and has ample free lot parking. The space is bright and open. What we noticed was a change - in the old location there were rows and rows of shelves, with dishes organized by pattern or color. If you were hoping to find a replacement for a broken plate in your pattern, or to add to your set, you could easily do that and chances were, they'd have your pattern even if it was passed down from your great grandmother, who brought it with her to the New World. In the new space there was thoughtful merchandising of items, displayed in settings with style groupings but not necessarily patterns. Saw some patterns scattered in different places, like Kings Crown Ruby Stained goblets. I get it, they compliment lots of styles. Finding 5 of them may involve hunting. The store is lovely and well displayed. We found inspiration and were charmed. It's still a great store, it's more though general shop for amazing dishes and such and less looking for an item in a pattern. In its former format, Dishfunctional filled a need no one else had. Now it's just shopping for cool stuff. We'll still visit, my dish loving heart weeps though for what was lost when some real estate developer decided what West Chester really needed was more "luxury condos" on a semi-industrial area. One other thing - they still have a robust eBay presence so if you are looking for a specific pattern or style, check there. Also Alfred has an encyclopedic knowledge, so ask him about what you are looking for - or if you want to know more about a gorgeous bowl- if he's there.

Most towns no longer have a place to get things like every day needs forcing one to find a big box store for those needs. I walk to this store couldn't be happier for the experience. Glad it's not like all the other stores that all look the same but have different names on their doors. I love the big glass windows at the storefront, the old fashioned ceilings and lighting, the wooden floors, the smell of an old building.... Yes, the prices are not that much different than anywhere else but it's hard to purchase the items that DEALS carry all in one store anywhere else. Frankly i always come here first as opposed to the sterile homogenized shopping experience of the new store types you find everywhere in suburbia. Really glad this place this here. I'd give DEALS 5 stars but I never give anybody 5 stars as it leaves no room for any improvement so 4 is the next best review. I would be incredibly disappointed if DEALS were to fold and be gone forever since these types of businesses have all but disappeared.
