The prices were excellent. What really impressed me, though, was the store itself. Joe has been serving the South Philly community through Longo's for 60 years, and it shows. Their fragrance selection rivals department stores, with everything from current favorites to nostalgic classics. They also carry household essentials, cosmetics, paper goods, and even delicious biscotti and other treats. It's the kind of neighborhood store where you never know what great find you'll come across. Chain stores definitely have their place, but there's something special about supporting a family-owned business that's been serving the community for 60 years. That doesn't make for good browsing, imo. I stop in if there's something I need at one store, then leave. I've never stopped for moisturizer at Ulta and decided to visit Burlington or watch a movie. The Gallery was a place to hang out in its heyday, but Fashion District restricts unaccompanied minors. So it often feels empty and lifeless. But if you need a brick-and-mortar store so you can try on before you buy, they might help.

It's as organized as any other TJ Maxx where stuff is kind of everywhere, but it's not bad, average as best. Today's checkout experience at Walmart was extremely frustrating…read more I walked to the store, shopped for my groceries, and went through checkout. My total was $46.99, and Walmart offered a 1,000-point reward that reduced my total to $36.99. I accepted it, inserted my debit card, and the terminal processed the payment and told me to remove my card. Then I was told the transaction did not go through. I immediately checked my bank account, and it showed a pending $36.99 charge from Walmart Supercenter. I explained that my account was showing the transaction, but I was told I needed to run my card again. The problem was that my available funds were already tied up by the pending charge. I could not simply "try again" when that money was no longer available to me. The situation was not handled with understanding or a clear explanation. The manager eventually canceled the transaction, but that does not instantly return the money to my account. I left Walmart with no groceries after walking there, shopping, and having my items bagged. Customers need better communication and support when payment issues happen. A pending transaction is confusing enough -- being left without your purchase and without access to your funds makes an already difficult situation even worse.

I try not to use Amazon but we ordered the same air conditioners from them at the original price and it arrived as promised, on time and in good condition. Avoid this Walmart membership at all costs...They are not ready for prime time.
