I always prefer the Work of Art sandwich. To me the bun, meat, shaved lettuce, and the horseradish mayo or mustard (not sure which) make the perfect sandwich. Everything the three of us had was DELISH! The place has a cool retro vibe, but if I had to criticize one thing, it would be the lack of background music. There were 4 or 5 tables of people dining as we were seated, and I swear you could hear a pin drop because none of these older diners were talking. Not to mention they looked at us like the outsiders we were, LOL! As a result, our lively table became the focal point which left us somewhat self-conscious. Some Sinatra-era music would help this wonderful restaurant's atmosphere enormously! Overall though, a wonderful little gem of a cafe in Elizabeth!

They're only open for breakfast and lunch. Basic looking place but has more room than expected to be honest. It's got a back area with a bar and slots. The bad thing is this place isn't open later because there would be fun times. Has breakfast and lunch menus. It's about $12 to get a sandwich and a side. A lot of the menu is meaty. We each got the Veggie Sub. Comes with avocados, black olives, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, Muenster which I left off, onions, tomatoes, and a vinaigrette, along with choice of a side, which I got with chips. This was pretty good even though the lettuce seemed old. Other menu items include chicken salad and typical deli classics. There's also breakfast with eggs and other stuff. For sure could get something from here again. It's best to go at lunch. They're closed Wednesdays.

Clean and not to dark in the gaming area. Customer clientele was pretty decent too. Had 5 machines with lots of variety on each machine. Played the Vegas Royale and hit it big. Couple 100 bucks in about an hour. Machines were clean too. Guy next to me got up and the lady working there came over quickly and wiped down the machine and seat. She asked me when I walked in if I wanted a complimentary soda or water. After my winnings I bought a hot dog and a cold beer. The beer was reasonable at 2 bucks. Hot dog was huge and a real bargain at 3 bucks. The had all the fixins and make it there fresh. Dog was awesome and when I say fresh it's not in some warmer or popped into the microwave, this dog came out of the fridge and onto the grill. Yum! Overall I had a great experience here and would highly recommend! The people working there were great. While I was eating my dog the gal working there has the Blackhawks game on the radio down low. Asked her if it was the Hawks game and she said yes and turned it up a bit so I could hear it (game wasn't televised) which I appreciated. Liked it here so much I came back the next night. This place is awesome!

Got our order correct and completed quickly! Whether you are on I-88 or a local, pop in to Arthur's Garden deli for a sando. For the same amount of time as a big-box store, you can enjoy a custom sandwich and support the local economy!

Nothing special. I believe it was $11.95. Then the Italian beef panini. Again, great bread. It was like a Rosemary Focaccia bread!!!
