There were unlimited refills on the banchan. Service was excellent. There was a button to get the attention of staff. They were quick to respond to our requests for banchan refills. They would stop by frequently to clear finished plates. The food, itself, was quite good. The meat was fresh and some were nicely seasoned. The steamed egg dish was fluffy and went well with rice. We picked the soybean paste soup with tofu, beef brisket and veggies. I enjoyed the saltiness of the soup with rice as well. The dumplings were super crispy and were deep fried perfection. Ambiance was lively as the restaurant was busy. Restaurant was clean including the restrooms. There was plenty of free parking on the plaza. My only complaint is the price of the dumplings. I am too used to Lower Mainland prices that there was a sticker shock at $18.95. Maybe this is the normal in Edmonton?

Service was good; use the call button to ask for things. It was cold inside with the AC blasting. Menu consists of appetizers, BBQ meat, soups, rice dishes, shareables, noodles, hot pots and stir fry's. They have BBQ combos for two to four people. - Banchan - two types of kimchi, pickled daikon, seaweed salad and sliced onions. All tasty. - 2x Rice ($3.00 each) - would have been good with one additional bowl. - BBQ combo set ($94.00) - good enough to share between four. Best of the meats was easily the LA galbi. The rib finger wasn't the freshest. Corn cheese was a good appetizer; more cheese than corn. Sukuh soondubu jigae was tasty but not much seafood or sliced beef. - Bibim-naengmyun ($17.00) - refreshing but standard fare. Solid KBBQ eats at Jung. Would come back again.

Everything else you see in those pictures is included in the Combo for just 119 dollars! When you order this combo, you can choose two side dishes from a variety of options. We went with the S1 Spicy beef soup and ojing eo bokkeum. There are other soup choices available, like Spicy Seafood soup, spicy tofu soup, spicy veggies soup, and more. The combo also includes two servings of steamed rice. You can choose one more dish along with the soups. We opted for ojing eo bokkeum, but you can also choose from options like soya garlic chicken bits, spicy chicken bits, and more. A9 is a must-try! I knew their popular…read moredishes were deep-fried oysters and katsu (deep-fried pork), so I tried both, plus a hot stone dish. The fried oysters are $15 for 7 pieces, which I think is quite pricey, and the oysters were too small. If you want to try them, go for it, but I didn't think they were worth it. The Rosu & Hire Katsu, a mix of pork sirloin and tenderloin cutlet, is $20. That's not bad; they were well-cooked, juicy, and crispy. I didn't try the cheese katsu, which I really wanted to, but maybe next time I'll order the mixed set for $26. The beef and egg hot stone dish is $18. It's pretty standard for a hot stone dish, but the stone was definitely hot and had a very Korean feel. I liked this one the most. It's not a busy restaurant, but I understand that deep-frying takes time, so the wait is understandable. The service was good, though there was only one waitress. She was very nice and had a good smile on her face. Overall, it's a quiet restaurant and not too busy atmosphere, so it's worth a try.

Trailing for that Gamjatang craving all fall and winter long baby! Only one area around the city to aimlessly drive around to choose which to satisfy all the cravings. This little strip of 34Ave is packed with hidden treasures of small mom-pop Korean eateries, you won't have to wander far before you stumble onto a storefront that catches your eye. Opened a couple months back, Miga had a surge of popularity with attention spurring over their hot plates that made up of cheese and rice cakes. Not a fan of either, my interest to try out Miga wasn't peaked until I saw their full menu floating around online, extensive list! Soft Clear Noodles with Beef and Vegetables - Japchae - ($18) - Lacked flavoring, I'm use to the subtle sesame oil taste in most of the Japchaes' that I order which this lacked. So for me this one was pretty bland. Noodles were nice and soft, impressed with how long the noodles were too. Pork Neck Bone Soup - Gamja-Tang - ($15) - Pretty solid bowl! Had three very generous sized bones with ridiculously tendered meat. Didn't need any spoon action, meat flaked off with just a scrape from the chopsticks. Which guarantees that the soup had plenty of flavor. Had a sharp kick of spice which balanced really well with the savory meat bites. But like the first dish, was missing some of flavor, perilla seeds and pepper topped on top usually adds that additional subtle kick that blends well with the spice, which wasn't provided in this. Also worth noting that with how flavorful the soup was, the potatoes were really bland. Korean Style Barbecue Short Ribs - Galbi - ($28) - Gorgeous coloring with a strong savory marinade that resulted in an amazing caramelized crust on the edges of each rib. Worth getting your hands dirty, and no judgement if you start gnawing on that bone- Which you definitely should. BANCHANS! We had five, cubed radish kimchi - seasoned bean sprouts - fish cake - pickled cabbage - potato salad - THE POTATO SALAD WAS BOMBS GUYS. They mixed bits of potatoes with macaroni and raisins and omg... I should have asked for more. Overall really satisfied with dinner at Miga! The shop is cozy and clean with plenty of seating. Service was extremely friendly and relaxed. Portions are also huge, and prices were fair. I'd come back and recommend! It's also right beside Pocha Seoul .. talk about competition?!

The time before I tried Tteokbokki, which was my first time trying that and it was delicious and spicy (good spicy). The tables have plugs so you can charge your devices. The staff have been friendly and able to answer any questions if you're not familiar with the menu. It's getting colder so I might go back to try one of their soups. Prices are great for the amount of food Downside as another reviewer points out is the parking. It's just the way this building was built there's not a lot of spaces and if there's a big truck in the lot it can be hard to get in and out of. The young man at the front counter, Daniel, was super friendly and helpful - he had great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed to take our goodness home after. The atmosphere was poppy, hip, and inviting. K-pop videos and music played in the background as they should! Everything about this place is spot on and I seriously wanted to try everything on the menu. Seoul Bites reminded me of the new hip Korean spots on Whyte Ave in YEG but of course a bit cheaper - Yay! The sauce carousel at the front counter had an AMAZING array of house made sauces Including 3 LEVELS of spicy mayo (that are all amazing) and a killer Korean teriyaki style sauce called unagi taro cupbap. We opted for the Value Pack which came with our choice of Korean Fried Chicken (bone-in garlic soy), fries (we added their housemade sweet cheese powder topping), and Seoul kimbap (we selected Bulgogi) and a Bulgogi cupbap (meat/rice/veggie bowl). Everything was outstanding! The Chicken was fried to perfection - crisp and juicy (and still crisp and juicy 5 hours later at home)! The garlic soy was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The Bulgogi kimbap was lovely (think beef maki) and the bulgogi opal was my favourite as I prefer non-fried foods. The housemade sauces here are exceptional! The "cheese" sauce we added to the fries is difficult to describe and unlike anything I've ever had - it was actually like a powder coating and more sweet than salty! The spicy mayos on the carousel were insanely good! I'd like to buy them for my poke bowls at home, lol! The kiddo loved the Korean blue lemonade pop we picked him up - never seen a clear plastic can with a metal pop can top before - definitely fun! You know it's good when you're already talking about coming back before you even leave! Before we left I chatted with Daniel a bit and he shared that they opened up about 3 months ago and this is his family's first restaurant. Well whatever y'all are doing, keep doing it because it's outstanding! Two thumbs WAY up!

The space inside was nice and much bigger than it looked outside. There were a few diners when we got there, but still plenty of seating. We were seated, given the menus, and water (including a jug for the table, which I appreciated). The server told us that when we're ready to order to press the button on the side of the table. I love when restaurants do that. I ordered the Hanip to drink, which is a seasonal tea beverage, a non alcoholic type cocktail. I got the Japchae, which is a bowl of Japchae (glass noodles), beef bulgogi, spinach, carrots, onions with a shitake soy dressing. My friend got a coke and the Donkas, a breaded pork cutlet with a cabbage slaw. It also came with ketchup and bbq sauce on the side. Our food came out very fast; I don't think we waited more than 8 minutes, but our drinks hadn't arrived and the server said they'd be on the way. With our meals they brought out a small side of vegetables that included kimchi, bean spouts, radish (may have been daikon) with this delicious sauce, and mashed potatoes, plus a side of steamed rice. I'm not sure if the veggies and rice were for my meal or my friend's or for the table, but we both enjoyed it. I really liked the radish dish. Our meals were also delicious. My friend's pork cutlet was massive and she said it was really good. I loved the Japchae, it was savoury and comforting. I had been debating about ordering one of the full vegetable dishes like the eggplant or cucumber salad, but the serving sizes are decent and I wasn't hungry. The downside was they forgot about our drinks. I kept waiting and finally partway through our meal I pressed the button and asked about our drinks, and they had completely forgotten. The server (a different one from before) apologized. My friend's coke came out right after that and my drink took a few minutes to make. I do understand things get missed (I've worked in restaurants before), but it also wasn't very busy. So I can't give Hanjan 5-stars because of this but it was still a really meal. Both my friend and I said we'd go back again.

On the first, on a chilly mid-December day I look forward to having Bim Bap delivered steaming and crackling in heavy cast iron bowls. The wooden platters supporting these bear scorch marks and the olfactory and aural experience delivered creates fantastic anticipation. At home the server brings the bowls to the table, adds chilli past in the amount directed and mixes it in before placing it before you. Bim Bap was not on the menus and we settled for Bulgogi. The Dwaeji Bulgogi arrived on a plate and the Chicken Bulgogi was served luke warm in a stainless steel bowl. Our meals tasted fine and yet we remained keenly aware of the difference in presentation. Regarding price. A "lunch special" Chicken Bulgogi is $17.99 and the Dwaeji is $18.99?! Really? Look I know that things have gotten more expensive and that Alberta grocery prices are currently higher than Ontario. But, a Chicken Bim Bap back home is still $14.99. Considering the difference in meal quality and venue ambiance, it feels expensive. Lastly, decor and ambiance. I'm not sure what preceded the Bul Go Gi house on these premises but in consideration of the basic melamine tables, cafeteria quality chairs, and long abused paint on the walls I'd say dive bar would be a fair guess. I don't need fancy but can we not at least get things up to mall food court standards? The disposable chop sticks were not the worst I've used, i.e., they weren't quite spindly wooden dowels, but were among the cheaper ones available. At $17.99 for a lunch combo I expect a bit better. Overall, it was okay (maybe more like okay-ish) although it's unlikely we'd return. I regret having to provide a mediocre-at-best rating but that's my impression.
