It is so calm to bike/boat around the park here - calm and relaxing. You can rent a boat or a covered joined bike here. The only problem is the bathroom. There is built public bathroom but most of the time not open fro public use.

Beautiful, easily accessible lake with free parking and a convenient public boat launch that was a great place to set out for a paddleboard. Free parking, restrooms, and water fountains make this a great place to take off for a quick after-work paddle.

Trash everywhere, graffiti all over the place, and the water is polluted!! I even saw a fish carcass on the shore, AND the water isn't safe enough to swim in. WHAT THE HECK!!!! The electric scooters are knocked down and one of them is broken. Thankfully it's peaceful and there's no dangerous people.

I've been going to one of the run clubs that meets here and runs a 5k around the lake. It makes a great post-work sunset run! The bridge lights up in rainbow colors after dark which is fun. You can also kayak or paddleboard on the lake, but the water is nasty here so don't get in the water if you can avoid it. There's a free parking lot that can fill up during busy times.

I'm not a big urban lakes type of fishing guy, but fishing for me is like therapy...great way for me to clear my head and relax from the demands of work and life "stuff." It's a balance. Loved getting out there today for a few hours with some friends and snagging a couple fish (1 crappie and 1 largemouth bass).

I would highly recommend. Cheap and affordable. There is a parking lot close by. You have to pay 2.00 for parking. The ride was 50 with military discounts. The ride was relaxing. It was hot. I recommend sunscreen and water. Your legs do get tired. I would recommend switching between who petals.

Man made lake adjacent to Tempe downtown the freeway and near ASU. Fed by Salt Creek is provides and an amazing visual compliment to the arts district and some new developments near Hayden Butte. Paths that encircle the lake bring people In to enjoy amazing evening sunsets and access to the performance center and residential living near by. Stunning evening colors reflect in The water.

I've always loved Tempe Town Lake. It's not a beach but closest big body of water close to home. There were Bird scooters all around which is cool to just hop on and cruise around the lake. They also have peddle boats and paddle board rentals for only $20 an hour! That's an awesome deal for something quick and cheap to do! There's no swimming and I'm pretty sure no fishing but the views are pretty and I feel it's a safe area to get a walk in while alone. It's in college town as it's right next to ASU so plenty of people around but still a quiet spot. Would love to come have a little picnic when it's a bit cooler!

Always a fan. A loop around the lake is about 3 miles, crossing @ the pedestrian and N Scottsdale bridges. Unfortunately, they've enforced paid parking on the south side @ Tempe Beach Surface Lot (according to Google Maps), but there's plenty of free parking near the Marina or shopping area at the northeast side. Lovely place to watch sunset, hammock, slack line, scooter, bike, rollerblade, walk your dog, have a picnic, etc. Launch your kayak from the marina, or choose from water activities available for a price (paddle boarding, pedal boats, donut boats). I personally wouldn't do paddle boarding because the water gives me ick, but the option is there!

Great place for strolls, events and more! Check out the City of Tempe calendar cause there is so much going on.

Pacific Loon. Rare in Arizona. Was thrilled to get a picture. Distant photo.

Have been here before chasing birds. Came just to find the Pacific Loon that was posted on the rare bird alert. Wasn't very crowded today, a few fishermen, lots of joggers, bikers and a few just relaxing.

This man made lake is a beautiful place to spend with family or to bike, walk or roller skate and get a lot of fresh air. There is a large boardwalk adjacent to the Lake, with many benches a long the way. Boat rentals are available, and I have included a price list. There is an awesome pedestrian bridge to walk on ( See photos). The ambience is very relaxing. Parking is FREE, but it can be a bit hard to find a spot During busy times. Bathrooms are not plentiful, but are available. A Must See while in the town of Tempe!

A serene and a calm lake in the mid of Tempe town. Walked there last evening after dinner and spent about an hour with friends. There are a lot of E bikes and it's the best way to go around the park. There are paddling boats which are available for rent, this would be definitely fun I'm sure.

If anyone knows the drummer in the park, I have a snare for him?

    no idea who that is.

Where can I park and then launch my Kayak? Is there a fee?

The easiest spot is on the north side of the lake at the marina. There is no fee to park there or launch your kayak.

Like, genuinely well done. They space the vendor area far enough from the stages so you're not fighting for your life trying to shop while also dodging people who are deep in their "vibe." Huge win. The stages are set up in a way where, even when artists are playing at the same time, it doesn't feel like a chaotic sound clash, which I did not expect but fully appreciated. Also noticed they adjusted the layout a bit this year (especially around the Rise Up stage), and it worked. Way smoother flow overall. GA+ still not exactly bursting at the seams, but hey, more room for the rest of us. Sound? On point. Setup? Thought out. Experience (overall)? Actually great. Now... the people. Let's just say there comes a moment in life where you realize a fan base is no longer your fan base. And for me, that moment was somewhere between hour 8 and hour 9 of holding down my spot, when I got full-on trampled by someone who apparently believed personal space is a myth. Ma'am. I had been standing there for nearly 9 hours. NINE. This was not a casual pop-in situation. Up until that point, everything had been amazing. The music, the energy, the flow, chef's kiss. But that one interaction? Immediate vibe break. That said, I'm choosing growth here: I genuinely hope she finds whatever she's running toward... and maybe learns how not to run directly through people to get there. Overall though? As a venue for this fest, Tempe Beach Park absolutely delivers. I'll be back... just maybe with stronger crowd boundaries and a little more side-eye.

It's a beautiful location with scenic views of the bridges and water, and there's even a nearby museum which adds to the experience. Parking can be a bit of a mixed situation. There is a parking garage available, but it does require payment. We also noticed an additional open lot next to the garage where you can park for free; however, it is gated and the surface is mostly dirt and rocks, so just something to keep in mind. One thing we didn't come across was a public restroom, so it's unclear where the nearest one is located. Overall, it's a great area to visit and enjoy events. My only suggestion would be to add more parking options or provide a designated free parking area for visitors, so not everyone has to pay for parking.

Reserving a spot and kayak is easy on the online website. Once you navigate down to the main road to the Guest Ranch, it can be a little confusing as they always have a roadblock as you progress towards the parking lot. Just proceed past the sign to the parking lot ahead. After parking, walk back towards the ranch and check in. Guest services will provide a wrist band as well as a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Once your reservation time is ready, you will be provided a quick orientation of the equipment, navigation of the river and where the staff will pick you up at the end of your float. The staff is always super helpful. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a carabiner to hook on your dry bag or backpack to the kayak. Even though the majority of the river is an easy float, there are some small rapids. You may accidentally flip the kayak if you get caught in a tough spot on the River. This will prevent you from losing your bag! I'm experienced and have flipped once or twice. Depending on the time of year and water flow, the float can take 2 or 3 hours. Beautiful views of the landscape, wildlife including various birds and the gorgeous wild horses! At the end of the float, the staff will load your kayaks and take you back to the Guest Ranch. In the main building, be sure to stop by the gift shop prior or after the float for souvenirs or in case you forgot supplies you may need. They have several items including sunscreen, water shoes, hats, shirts snd much more. I found prices to be reasonable. This is the perfect place to bring out of town visitors. They will love it.

This was PERFECT, so happy we did this over the tubing. There's a reason tubing has mixed reviews and these are all positive! It took us exactly 2 hours and it was very leisure. We wanted to sit and enjoy the beauty, it was fun to race in our kayaks, and one time we pulled over to jump in the water to refresh. We did the 7:15am Sat July 5 hoping we would get a nice serene time and compared to how it usually sounds, it was very peaceful. Few party people down the river but nothing too crazy. I recommend not going later than 7:30 if you want a more peaceful time to yourself and low crowds. Plus the sun wasn't as brutal. I got wonderful photos and videos from something cheap on Amazon The most wild life we saw was one horse and like 5 fish lol I wish there was an easier way to keep my water in front with me because every time I went to grab it behind me I was worried I would tip myself. I also wish they had little signs to point which way to go, it's simple, but after the excitement heat etc, it's like "wait they did say left middle right left, right?" lol Can't think of any other tips, besides just do this, can't imagine you would regret.
