I've been attending the Community Workouts at The 360 Approach for a couple weeks now because I'll…read moreadmit: they're addictive! The 360 Approach is a small, indoor, personal (they call themselves "boutique") fitness studio geared towards individuals or groups in a holistic way. Their aim is to look at the individual from a physical, mental and spiritual standpoint; and while I don't feel very spiritual when I'm working out, I certainly feel welcomed and supported at 360! Chan and Sariah are amazing instructors, they know your name and they know how to push you. The Community Workouts on Saturday mornings (7a, 8a & 9a) are fantastic! These 45 minute sessions get you awake and working your body in new ways each week. Most of these classes revolve around intervals or circuit training. You'll begin with a warmup and go into anything from tire flips, hill sprints, stair climbs (they are on the first floor of a five store building, perfect for stair running!), pull-up's and lots of weighted exercised. The instructors take time to explain each exercise and they won't partake in the class with you, but instead monitor and correct form (or just encourage you along the way!) 360 offers a large variety of classes, from fitness bootcamp classes to high intensity interval training and core, cardio and toning class to group runs, kettle bell classes and even zumba. Most of their classes are in the morning with the exception of a handful of Monday and Wednesday evening classes which go until 5:30pm and Zumba at 6:30pm on Tuesdays. They also participate in a lot of community fitness events and have teams for many of the local races. They'll provide you with sweat towels and water bottles at the studio, and while there are lockers at the studio, you won't find a bathroom locker area or showers. Make sure you follow them on Facebook for special offers.

My only hesitation for writing this review is that too many folks will want to join on. But of…read morecourse, that would be bad form. So I cannot resist but to share how wonderful my experience has been. Chan has created a supportive community of strength and wellness. She has the most interesting circuits and knows exactly how to encourage each person to improve their physical and mental strength. This is a great place for newbies interested in getting healthier in a welcoming space.

Because I don't have healthcare this year, I decided to get back into the gym to work on becoming strong again, to lower my blood pressure, and to help with my stress management. When I signed up for my gym membership, Coach Shaw's name was recommended, and I reached out to him to get started. It's been one of the best decisions I've made in recent years. Coach Shaw has gone above and beyond from the very beginning. He helped me establish my goals (which are more about function and health markers); set me up with a meal plan and a training regiment. not only that, but he requires weekly check-ins to go over sleep, water intake, general movement outside of the gym, digestion, supplements, etc. I wanted a trainer who would take a holistic approach, and Coach Shaw embodies that!! It's been a month and I'm feeling so much stronger, my blood pressure is down, my clothes are fitting better, I'm sleeping better. I've been able too prep all my meals and hit all my workouts. Worth his weight in gold, genuinely!

When you are under his guidance, he is not just your personal trainer- he will tailor a nutritional plan to fill your needs, he will celebrate all of your wins and he is not afraid to call you out when you don't meet your potential. My attitude towards my physical health has changed completely under his guidance. In the almost 6 months that we have worked together, I have lost inches where I wanted to and have gained so much strength and endurance. If you are willing to put in the work and listen to his suggestions Lamar will help you reach all of YOUR goals. That's actually one of the first things that impressed me about his training style- he takes the time to listen to what you'd like to accomplish and will use all of his knowledge to propel you forward. Before every session he will take a moment to check in and see how you are feeling that day and will adjust your training accordingly. When you are working, he will adjust your form to make sure no movement is wasted. Oh and did I mention that he never stops his education? This is not some magic quick fix program but rather he will show you how to make lifestyle changes so you can maintain a healthier version of yourself. I cannot recommend his services enough. When you are ready to make real change and commit to yourself come find Lamar. You won't regret it.

Other than training facilities, there are nice paintings and personalized music playlist. I started my training with Corey in the middle of the pandemic (Dec, 2020). Corey is the most knowledgeable trainer in both strength building and nutrition planning I have ever met. Corey has been tracking my progress and adapt the programs as my fitness goal changes. After 102 workouts, I feel much stronger and healthier. Amazing gym! Amazing trainer! Truly recommended.

Maitland's Method might not be on your radar for personal fitness because it's not one of those big conglomerate gyms, but you should definitely consider it. Just to give you a summary: - This gym is primarily for personal training but you get access to some of the equipment as a regular client - They offer individual and partner training sessions (partner sessions are half the price which makes it very affordable) - Emphasis on strength and resistance training - Lots of very solid equipment and free weights Maitland and his team have a long history of strength training -- check out the wall of bodybuilding trophies and photos when you walk through the entrance. Among their trainers are bodybuilding champions and an ex-NFL linesman. You don't need to be an aspiring bodybuilder to appreciate the workout routine. There's a diverse mix of clients -- men, women, young, and old. Each trainer follows Maitland's method (hence the name) which has been refined over many years. Still learning about the method but so far so good! The trainers help you throughout the routine, keep a log of your exercises, and help you build fitness plans (for inside and outside the gym). For someone like me that forgets to count reps, this place is a godsend. My workout has become much more focused and efficient. I use to be able to waste hours at the gym when I was younger but now I recognize the importance of getting the most out of the time as possible. The extra cost for personal training has been well worth it! Trey has been especially friendly and effective. At nearly 7' tall and built like a football player (no surprise he use to play for the Colts) he might seem a little intimidating but he's actually probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. The exercises have been safe and I've been able to blend my new routine with soccer and running. He's helping prepare me for a marathon and build muscle at the same time (which will hopefully help prevent injury).

I've been to four in the last week and a half, and looking forward to my classes scheduled! I've done Zumba classes and spin classes (Flywheel), but nothing compares! The two instructors I've taken classes with are amazing. Mike, the head coach is the BEST! I try to get all of my classes with him but would definitely give the others a chance as I'm sure they're all wonderful. It's very much so like a community and every single person that works there has been genuinely kind & helpful. They obviously tried to sell me a membership, but, duh. They weren't pushy about it and were super knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the options! Well, of course I gave in & glad I did! The thing I love the most is how the classes work. It's cardio, rowing, and lifting/floor intervals. You burn so many calories in the hour long class and it's actually fun. The music is always on point. I highly recommend Orangetheory, at least give it a try!

Joining OTF has let me change myself for the better and get involved with a community I really love and am proud to be a part of. The staff and members at this particular location blow the others out of the water. If you want to know about the workout, I'd recommend just trying one for free. This is an intense workout, however EVERYTHING can be modified and the coaches are really great about helping with this if you need it. I lost 15 pounds in the first year I joined, so it's definitely effective if weight loss is your intention. Beyond that, it's great for developing functional fitness for "more life" as we say. Being petite I've noticed that I've gained a lot of confidence in several aspects of everyday life by building strength and endurance at OTF. I think of myself as more of an athlete than I ever have and I can't wait to get back in there once stay at home is over.
