I always feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm here, the constant shuffling of stock makes coming here fun. Its great to be able to find books that are affordable specially now that book are so expensive. You can often find books that the local bookstores don't carry due to lack of popularity. Never had anyone be rude towards me well shopping here. The store also Isn't scented ( other than the books ) so for those who are sensitive to smells like I am this is definitely a plus. I LOVE this book store! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Susan the owner is an extraordinary woman who is kind and so positive. Susan and her staff are such a delight. i have never met anyone who is as greedy and utterly oblivious to life as the owner sue. she is remarkably obtuse and you can argue with her all day if you have the time but she is simply useless unless she smells money. I was in the store and pointed out how several of the books were being damaged by the way she was storing them but she simply said that it was not my concern. When i said i would buy them at a reduced price she perked up and said she would take off a generous amount if I bought them today. I went to buy and found out that her idea of a generous amount was removing the tax. please avoid read more

The lady that works there is nice but the owner is a very greedy woman. She took a large deposit from me to open a monthly comic bag because I am only in town at a few times a year. She said I was gone too long and kept my 100 dollar deposit. In the case of really hard to find issues, they were often missing from my bag. I also had a comic book that doubled in value while I was gone. She refused to honor the fact that it was stored in my bag at a set price and tried to charge me more than double. the owner is such a horrible person. Me and my friend went in bought a comic book as a gift for my dad. on the way home we found it was held together with tape and glue. when I brought it back she said all sales were final and we were free to take our business elsewhere. A cornucopia of literary achievements. This second hand bookstore is a treasure trove of novels, hardcovers, paperbacks from the Louis LAmour westerns to eerie Stephen King and Len Deighton spies. Comics and graphic novels and some Manga near the front of the store and a corner room with War books. I wish I lived here to come more often and find the books I've always wanted to read and dream. Wow. Just wow. My husband brought a few bins of books here a couple of weeks ago to donate and there was a really polite, pleasant lady working at the counter. She thanked my husband for the books and even sent him home with a $30 credit. Fast forward to today. We were doing more purging of our at home library and my husband brought in more than a dozen bags of books to donate. Many very high-quality books, lots of them brand new, some decades old but very charming and extremely hard to come by. Different lady at the counter. Don't know if she was having a bad day or what but she was unbelievably rude and aloof and picked through the bags like she was picking through garbage. Acted like it was a big nuisance to take the donations. No credit or thank you whatsoever. Wish my husband had just taken the bags of books back from her and got the hell out of there. I usually visit this place with my mom a couple of times a month and find the staff helpful and friendly. I spent over $100 there last month on records for my son, planned to do the same again soon and usually drop about $30 on books for myself each time I go. My mum also spends about $40 a month there. Thanks to the bad taste today's experience left in our mouths, none of us will ever set foot in there again. Thanks mean lady for souring a formerly favorite haunt. You've lost customers that have been coming to Ted's for over 20 years. read more
