An obscure cider brand from Michigan you tried once on a vacation? Not only do they have it they have a variety from that same brand. Want a wine you can only describe in flavor and maybe to e color of the label? They got someone that can hunt it down for you. Don't know how to host a tasting event? They created the PhD on the subject. It's actually not a good place if you get overwhelmed easily as the store has about 800% inventory at all times and they span from the basics to absolute top shelf temp/humidly controlled storage for basically anything you can drink. Staff is so helpful they make shopping pleasant - I went in looking for Marsala wine to make a chicken dish and after talking to a wine person there I had 3 more dish ideas and left with something completely different than Marsala wine - and it was incredible. Perfect recommendation. The most selection of liquor , the largest variety of cider and microbrews and a staggering selection of wine, again I can't see a reason to go elsewhere anymore.

As of 2026, there are additional locations in Attleboro, Norwood, and Swansea. I recently made a trip to Yankee Spirits while I was passing through the Sturbridge area. I have visited before, but this was my first visit in about six years or so. They have an absolutely enormous selection of alcoholic beverages, but I was only interested in exploring their very impressive selection of craft beer. I don't make it to this area very often, so I was most looking forward to see if they carried anything that's either hard to find or just totally unavailable in my home area of New Haven, Connecticut. I spent maybe a half hour just walking down the aisles and seeing what all of the options were. Afterwards, I was ready to begin shopping. I ended up purchasing a pretty sizable haul which should keep my refrigerator full for a while. Most of the beers I grabbed were rare barrel-aged stouts, but I also picked out a few IPAs and other various styles that no longer get distribution in my home area. If you're looking for a serious selection of excellent craft beer, wine, or spirts in New England then look no further than Yankee Spirits!

I stopped in to pick up some booze on my way to my parent's house for a visit. I hadn't been in there in years and I was greeted by a bright, clean, modern-looking space. A major upgrade from the dingy decor of yesteryear. However, and maybe it's just because there's more space now, the store looked practically empty to me. There was only one or two of everything on the shelves which just made it look depressing. And, any store that calls itself a package store should have a decent booze selection, which sadly, this place did not. I wanted red zinfandel for me and blue curacao to make my mom "that magic blue drink you made me this summer" as she called it and neither were to be found. Sooooooo, 2 stars for the less than adequate selection of booze and an extra star for the upgrades to the store.

I went to the deli to get some meat, and their special sign said: "Curry Chicken - Small $5.99 / Large $6.99" - I figured $6.99 was a good price for a large container of chicken salad so I got it. When I got home I looked at the receipt and they charged me $20!! I called to complain and the girl that answered the phone was nice, but she said the prices were for sandwiches. I said it didn't say anything about sandwiches on the sign, so she went and checked, and confirmed that I was right. She had the OWNER (Ted) call me back and all he did was make excuses. He said it's "understood" that it's for sandwiches. I said obviously not, since I don't buy sandwiches there. Not only are they overpriced, they're not at all interested in customer service. If you think $6 is a good price for a $3 pint of ice cream, it's the perfect store for you. I hope the department of weights and measures goes through there and fines them thousands of dollars. They deserve it. The (2nd) worst part is that the "curry" chicken salad tastes more like cardboard and celery than anything else. read more

ZERO STARS: the owners are nothing but rude, ignorant people and all they do is think about themselves. I wouldn't buy anything from their to support them. They need to remember karma and hope it doesn't bite them. It's sad that they need to be that low and rude to people. Today was "date night" so when look for a new place to checkout 308 Lakeside made the list, after reading a recent article on social media about new owners, we decided to stop for a late Sunday lunch. Once we found a place to park (parking is a challenge as they are victim of their own success so be prepared) We were greeted pleasantly by the hostess and promptly seated. They had a duet performing live music of pop covers. We were seated along the window overlooking Lake Lashaway. Nice view! Our server, Payton was very helpful and patient as this was our first time. Jessica the manager stopped by the table to check on us and introduce herself, after a nice conversation about this being our first time and the article highlighting the new owner, Payton returned with our beverages (raspberry tea, root beer and water). We ordered as a starter potato skins. In due course they were brought. These potato skins had a lot of potato still in the skins- making them the perfect carrier for the generous amount of cheese and bacon. Served with sour cream. Delicious! By this time we were ready to order. I ordered the French dip with fries. This is one of my favorite sandwiches and is a rarity these days. My wife ordered the stuffed portobello mushroom and house side salad. I also the limited menu item pretzel sticks, and a bowl of their chili to share with my wife. Payton was good to check on us and keep us hydrated. After a bit of time since we ordered (nearly an hour) Jessica came over and apologized for the delay and said the food would be out shortly, and comped us a dessert. The reason was totally out of their control and has no bearing on this review. One of the kitchen staff had an immediate family member pass away, leaving the kitchen short handed. It was gracious of Jessica to comp a dessert, we weren't in any hurry it being date night. The food was delivered as promised and exceeded expectations. I have to say the French dip was a solid #3 on my top ten list of French dips I have enjoyed in my lifetime. (#1 Rio Rico Resort in 1978 AZ, #2 The Colonial Restaurant in 1974 CT) My wife's portobello mushroom was one of the best she has had (being allergic to seafood and knowing her tastes I trust her review). The chili was good and we ended up bringing home. We would make the drive just for the chili. Pretzel sticks were server hot and were very light. The mustard base dipping sauce was some of the best we have enjoyed and perfectly suited for the pretzel sticks. For dessert we shared a piece of blueberry carrot cake with whipped cream. It was a delicious ending to our meal and first visit. The only detractors was the parking which I am not sure they can do much about (only a single handicapped space), we ended having to park up the road; and a tidying up- the men's room while the fixtures were clean, the floor has layers of soil from being mopped with dirty water (easy to rectify with occasional professional cleaning) and a partial beer bottle was left on top of the towel dispenser. In the room we were seated in, the acoustic ceiling panels just need a good dusting. Like a said those are but minor observations. The food was some of the best around and the service equally a standout. Highly recommend 308 Lakeside. We will definitely be back.
