Teddy's Ice Cream is one of my favorite places to visit, especially on a hot summer day. It's a great spot to cool off with some delicious ice cream, although I find myself coming here throughout the year, not just during the summer. This time, I tried the chocolate Oreo smoothie, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor was rich and satisfying, and it definitely hit the spot. I've always had a great experience here, and there's still plenty on the menu that I'd love to try. I'll definitely be coming back again for more ice cream and to sample some new flavors. read more

Even without a giant, inflatable Teddy, I still found Teddy's and decided to finally stop in. For sure, if I lived closer this would be my regular spot. While they have 28 flavors, I am hate being the guy who tries 27 of them. It did not take long for me to find a flavor to win me over, opting for something that was a salted caramel... something, ordering a single kids scoop. The ice cream was creamy and flavorful, loaded with goodies just how I like it. I took only a cursory glance at the remaining flavors, leaving only with the idea that many of them seem fun! I also want to give point for the service, as the person helping me was enthusiastic and engaged, with not even a hint of the "I don't really want to be here" attitude. Finally, we arrive at the prices. Considering even tomatoes cost close to $3 a pound, Teddy's Ice Cream charges reasonable rates for reasonable portions. Final verdict: Fun ice cream flavors are the best ice cream flavors. While I do not live in the immediate area, free parking means as I find myself passing by, I'll likely slowly and happily be working my way though their menu, unless old favorites stick! read more

We've driven by Teddy's ice cream many times, passing the huge pink teddy bear sitting on the roof. The only reason we haven't stopped is because we don't eat ice cream often, but when we do.... We're going back to Teddys! This place was busy on a Friday night with a line out the door at 7:45. It moved quickly though! They offer so many tempting options that it was hard to where to start in our first visit. But our girls had twisty cones and I had a Poseidon swirl. All were so good! Good quality ingredients and attentive staff that wiped down sticky tables as people left and swept up lost sprinkles, but also wiped down the toy F1 car on the patio. Vroom vroom!! Thanks Teddy!! I used to love coming to Teddies for their personal touch, premium service and delicious ice cream!! However, this time I was extremely disappointed. Definitely, will not be back! I ordered a two scoop hot fudge sundae w/Amaretto Cherry & Rush Hour. My second flavor wasn't even a scoop it was a 1/4 of a scoop!! It is incredibly frustrating to pay a premium price expecting a treat, only to get a tiny fraction of a scoop instead. Charging $13 for a "two scoop" sundae in your special downsized paper cup - you should be ashamed! It left me feeling shortchanged - completely unacceptable. I was taking my kid to get ice cream after his soccer game. When I walked in we went up to the counter to order. There was 4 workers there but none of them took my order. I asked to place it but they told be they were busy but we're on their phones the whole time. After 5 minutes they finally took my order. After we placed it one of the employees gave my son an ice cream that wasn't his. He told the worker that it wasn't his and the worker gave me a glare and told me to tell my son to "get his ice cream or leave." Honestly a very terrible experience I won't be coming back. Great spot in the neighborhood with many different options to choose from. I love that they have cartons of ice cream available for purchase, along with cakes and pastries (some of which the owner flies in from Greece several times a year: very cool!). This place is exactly the vibe I want when visiting an ice cream shop. We got Poseidon Swirls (their version of a blizzard) and the portions were generous. I have no clue where the Greek influence (Greek pastries, greek inspired menu names, Greek music playing) but I'm absolutely here for it. This spot was a cute random find. They have indoor and outdoor door seating. I've been twice. First time I got the vanilla soft serve with sprinkles in a cone. I enjoyed a generous serving of chocolate dipped vanilla-chocolate swirl soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone for less than $6 after having a rough week at work. The owner or manager (Lydia) and the store employee were warm, welcoming and helpful in helping me navigate the massive offerings of scoops, pastries, donuts (50% off after 1pm), drinks, etc. Soft serve was the perfect smooth, creamy texture. I couldn't really taste the vanilla in the swirl because the chocolate was overpowering it, but I loved the deep chocolate flavor it has! Dairy flavor and sweetness level was on point and did not give me a unpleasant sugary or aftertaste that high fructose syrup tends to give. The chocolate hardshell was quite yummy too - more on the darker chocolate taste than sweet milk chocolate, just like how I prefer it. They have indoor and lots of shaded outdoor seating to enjoy your snack. I went with a classic, vanilla soft serve but in a waffle cone. I did not realize how much more soft serve I would get with a regular size waffle cone. I could've shared it with another person. It's $1 more for waffle cone or $1.50 for dipped waffle cone like mine in the pic. Look at the pretty swirl! I'll definitely be coming back to satisfy my soft serve cravings. read more

Great new business that just opened in Ravenswood. They have hard pack and soft serve ice cream, mix-ins, sundaes, shakes, dipped cones, even an option with Baklava! Their freezers also have ice cream by the pint or quart as well as individually packaged slices of cake. Did I mention they have VEGAN OPTIONS? The kid's cone of Spumoni I tried was great, perfect to enjoy on their sizable patio on a hot summer day. I look forward to many more delightful afternoons here. read more

will be back again and again... not sure why we didn't discover this spot sooner as it was a bike ride away. fun and delectable - without being over the top (looking at you jeni's) - flavors at reasonable (for this day and these times) prices. the ice cream cakes looked fantastic too (mental note for upcoming celebrations). knocked off one star for the scattered service. the 4 of us each (only) ordered scoops (i.e. nothing that required prep - milkshakes, sundaes, etc.) however it took a bit of time to get us our order and they forgot one at first. i ordered my scoop from the dude that was helping me with samples (i was overwhelmed and torn between flavors lol) but then he told me to order from the woman at the register. i obliged and my husband paid and went to grab our table. i stood around and watched the 3 workers behind the counter play telephone trying to convey our orders to one another. knowing our order, even i grew confused watching/listening to them. just seemed like a really bad system for a very simple process! read more

Glad to have this new addition to the Ravenswood neighborhood, as well as another great option for ice cream on the North Side. Teddy's is brand new, and while they are still working out some kinks on the service side, your ice cream is still prepared fairly quickly and efficiently even with ling lines. Prices range from exceptional ($4.25 for a large swirl cone) to quite pricey (nearly $12 for some specialty sundaes). But, the quality is there. Teddy's appears to source their delicious ice cream from two local-ish distributors, Homer's in Illinois and Ashby's in Michigan. While I was initially disappointed and slightly worried, I must say that the ice cream is excellent. Creamy and flavorful, exactly how you want it. Because of their sourcing, there are a ton of excellent flavors to choose from. I went with one of their specials, a Greek sundae with figs and drizzled honey, selecting pistachio almond as my flavor. It was a perfect flavor combination, one I'm still thinking about while writing this review. And for just $6, it was a pretty excellent dessert! I'm looking forward to trying more from Teddy's, and am excited to see how they grow in the near future! read more

Teddys is an adorable little ice cream shop that opened up in Ravenswood. Not going to lie, the HUGE teddy bear and the ice cream sign is what made me pull over. But I can guarantee you even after the teddy bear comes down, I will be coming back! This place features an abundance of hard scoop and topping options along with soft serve, slices of Carlo's Bakery Cake, and even baklava. I got a double scoop with cookie dough for 8 bucks and the serving size was pretty decent, but the flavor and consistency was out of this world. They had some specials that looked dangerously good too. The ice cream artists working were great! They had some good recommendations, lovely explanations of the ice cream, and were just overall welcoming people. They have seating both inside and outside. The outside is really cute! If you're feeling fast, they have a race car you can sit in to enjoy your desserts. Great execution Teddy! I'm looking forward to indulge in my favorite dessert here in the near future. read more

This is a great spot for local desserts! They have a good selection of ice cream, soft serve and other frozen desserts. I had the waffle cone with amaretto cherry and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. It definitely scratched the ice cream itches I needed scratched. They also have a great selection of traditional Greek desserts. I took home the chocolate mousse, baklava, and chocolate cake(kinda like the cake version of Ferrero Roche). They were all fantastic and kept well in the refrigerator over a few days. The vibe of the shop is very casual. There are some weird service quirks like the flow of the restaurant. Maybe some old leftover hang ups from Covid? You're required to enter on one side of the shop, walk through the line of folks waiting for their order to place your order(one entrance, one exit). I just discovered this ice cream shop late this summer. I have been here three times and the third time will be my last. I thought at my first visit, "Wow! this place is almost as nice as the treasured ice cream shops I visit in Wisconsin. You know, the shops that when you ask for a single scoop, the ice cream is 2 inches over the top of the cup!" Well, I ordered a single scoop in a cup at Teddys, and it came just up to the top of the cup. The flavors available are very good. It was nice weather and we ate outside where there are plenty of seats. My second trip there was to brag about this place to a friend. She enjoyed one of the caramel flavors and I tried a coconut one. We both had a single scoop. The cup was filled almost to the top. Not all the way there. My third and now last visit was with my husband. We ordered a single scoop each in a cup. When I looked at my cup, I was very upset. There were two tiny (actually, very tiny) scoops of ice cream that didn't come close to the top of the cup. So every time I visited Teddy's the single scoop size kept getting smaller. For $4.75 for a scoop, I would think they could fill the "single" scoop cup. That's why it is labeled as "single" scoop, not "half a cup" scoop. Sorry Teddy's, I will not be coming back. read more

Finally got around to getting Teddy's! So happy to have a new ice cream spot in the neighborhood. When we arrived around 8pm on a weekday, the place was SLAMMED! Initially, I was worried about wait times but the service was so fast! We couldn't have waited more than 10 minutes for our ice cream. There is plenty of outdoor seating for everyone that decides to stick around and hang out. The staff were great and delivered service with a smile.
