I visited teddy's florist in astoria to pick up an arrangement for my uncles wife who was celebrating her 60th birthday and for 60 bucks I got a nice vase of assorted colorful sweet smelling flowers. I called in advanced and the gentleman who runs the place was very helpful in recommending the perfect birthday flowers. Place has a nice selection of flowers , plants , and other floral type stuff. My cuz gets all his flowers here for special occasions and now I will do the same . read more

In all my travels I have dealt with many florists in both personal and professional levels. Teddy's gets my vote for being one of the most friendly, helpful and understanding florist in NYC and especially Astoria. The staff is funny, knowledgeable and insightful on getting the customer what they want. I didn't know that they are one of the original flower shops in Astoria and they're still going strong even after moving to their new location on 35th Street off Ditmars Blvd. I've visited them for a memorial arrangement I needed for a very good friend's fathers passing which they created a wonderful arrangement. Once again thank you. But, while I was there a guy came in. George, his sister and the rest of the staff greeted him by addressing him as Mr. President. I guess it's an inside thing. lol He went on to tell me that he and his family been faithful customers for years. It's definitely a family business and environment which goes a long way in understanding and satisfying the needs of their customers. They're also a great houseplant source too. I went here on a whim to buy a gift for someone special. It was my first time in the shop and I hope it will be my first of many more returned visits. Not only is the staff courteous and skilled, they aren't afraid to let their unique personalities shine! They are moving to their new location on saturday (21-75 35th st, astoria 11105) and had less stock than usual. While they kept apologizing for their dwindling stock... I found exactly what I was looking for (purple flowers in a minimalist arrangement.) The staff went above and beyond helping me choose just the right flowers and making their own professional suggestions. At the end of my visit I was gifted candy, a small vase, tulips, and even a warm big hug and handshake! I really hope these guys flourish (that's punny, right!?) in their new store front. Excellent service and highly professional. I live in Brooklyn and won't be bothered at all traveling out here again for such a nice customer experience. read more

Lately, my husband has been getting me flowers from them. The flowers are beautiful and healthy, all have lasted for really long. The shop is run and own by some wonderful folks. They just recently moved to 35th street from the 31st location. Teddy's Florist have been around for 30 years, they know the community well and have witnessed so much change of the neighborhood. Everyone here is genial and very helpful--I stopped by last year and I learned about peonies' seasons and the price difference between locally sourced versus imported. With a previous florist, when I asked for peonies in the early winter without knowing any better, I was just provided with an exuberant pricing without explanation of why I would be charged so much for. This is a great neighborhood flower shop. They might not have every flower or greens under the sun, but they seem to be friendly, grounded, small business owners who you can strike up a conversation with and are professionals who you can rely on for your bouquet needs. p.s. Teddy's Florist is a reliable and personable business. Every time I walk in I am welcomed with smiles and conversation by everyone. The staff is willing to help me with everything I need. Just today I stopped by and asked for white flowers and I was presented with gorgeous white daises, they are blooming beautifully! On March 1st I was worried I wouldn't get to Teddy's in time after work due to the train, they were willing to stay open 15 minutes past closing and put together the most beautiful yellow rose bouquet for my mother's birthday, so beautiful my mother cried! My mother raved for 2 weeks after about how they were still in bloom! Every time there is a special date, i.e anniversary, birthday or valentines day, my boyfriend always choses Teddy's, and they never disappoint! read more

Absolutely outstanding. Used Teddy's for my wedding on 3/24/12 and I was more then satisfied with their services to say the very least. Claire is a very talented florist. She did all of the flowers for my wedding, including centerpieces at my tables. They were gorgeous !!! She was very organized and offered so many helpful hints to make the best possible flower arrangements to fit my budget. My bouquet was breathtaking to say the least, and all the other flowers were flawless as well. Claire even called me to make sure even the smallest details were to my liking! She really went above and beyond to make the flowers on my wedding day beautiful. I was very impressed with her work! I was very disappointed with Teddy's. Ordered an arrangement for my friend's grandfather's wake. Not only did it look like a $5 version of what was shown on the website as the arrangement that I ordered, but they were completely unresponsive to my inquiries. I will NOT be using them again, and recommend anyone looking for a florist in Astoria stay away. At least they didn't use baby's breath...but that shouldn't even have to be said, let alone listed as a positive point. read more

This florist is one of the better ones I ever dealt with. The lady gave me good price for the bouquet I asked for. The flowers there are fresh and they have a huge selection. While I was there, I saw them making a centerpiece for a wedding and I think it was so beautiful. There are lots of happy couples' thank you cards on the wall. Clare, George and Sophia are wonderful. They are so friendly and really know their flowers. I booked them for my wedding and everything turned out beautiful! The flowers that I really wanted weren't in season, and I didn't really have a backup plan, so I left a lot of the decision-making in Clare's capable hands. She gave me some great advice. My bouquet was the perfect combination of soft, traditional cream roses and pearls with some fun, colorful irises. The centerpieces incorporated everything my mother-in-law wanted, but also kept some of the elements that I wanted. I had to click 1-star or I couldn't post a review but ZERO STARS is what this place deserves. I ordered flowers for my mother-in-law's birthday on Friday... upgraded to "premium" and paid over $50 for what "appeared" to be a big, beautiful bouquet. What she received instead were 10 flowers that we could have bought at 7-11 or the supermarket. It's now Sunday morning and 3 of the flowers have already died and the other 7 will probably be dead by tonight. I know it's hit-or-miss when ordering flowers online but I have NEVER felt more ripped-off than I do at this moment. The owners of this establishment should be ashamed and whoever put this "bouquet" together should, at the very least, be retrained. I am beyond disappointed and extremely dissatisfied and I not only will I never order from this place again, I hope others who read this will think twice as well. read more

Teddy's is a family-run business and when you walk in you feel like family too. They're prices are affordable, they're selection is wonderful, and the flowers last and last for weeks. They're right under our train station, so we go there at least once a week, but they don't necessarily know where we live...when my mother-in-law passed, we received one of the most BEAUTIFUL plant arrangements in one of the most handsome hand-crafted containers i've ever seen; it was thoughtfully arranged and packed with plants. someone we knew had called a teleflorist, not put down a lot of money, and we received that beautiful tribute, so you know if you're out of town you get a bang for your buck. Serious bang for the buck & reliable. I ordered a "thank you" bouquet for same-day delivery right around Mother's Day, so while the odds were not in their favor to pull off an exact replica of every arrangement on their website with zero advance notice, they talked me through the substitutions for mine and, in the end (based on the picture the recipient took) the end result turned out to be an arrangement I liked even better than the stock picture on their website! I give no stars to this florist and I highly discourage anyone from using this florist. Teddy's was my family's florist of choice for decades whenever we had occasion for the use of flowers but in recent years they have totally disappointed me and failed miserably the last 3 times we've used them. They provided the flower arrangements for my wedding 16 years ago but the last 3 times were horrible. My husband ordered flowers from them for my birthday which never came. They totally missed my birthday and when questioned, they blamed it on a date mix-up. Some time after that, I ordered the casket blanket of flowers from them for my mother's funeral and when I walked into the funeral home, the casket was bare. They again mixed up the date. They did have an arrangement at the funeral home later in the day but I certainly did not need a mistake like that on the day I was holding my mother's wake. And the last kicker was when I used them to send flowers on behalf of my boss to his wife. I was flat out lied to when they told me the flowers had been delivered when they hadn't. Eventually, the flowers got there but not before a song and a dance even after I repeatedly expressed how important it was no mistakes happen given their history with me. Save yourself some grief. Use another florist. read more
