We decided on tomato cheese pizza & apple & bacon along with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Service was quick. The salad was good but drenched with dressing. We forgot to ask for dressing on the side. This is the bar/restaurant located in the Holiday Inn at Newark Airport. The bar seems well stocked with plenty of mixed drinks offered on the menu. The walls are lined with televisions to view various sporting events. I was never sure who was waiting on me. Maybe they share duties but both visits the person that sat me would come back for my drink order. Then someone else (who also busses tables) handled my food order. Then, again, the person that sat me refilled my drinks. Not sure if this was planned or just happened that way. On night one I ordered the steak and fries. I wasn't expecting five-star steak but this was not that good. Tough and just okay tasting. Did like my Caesar salad (decent serving size). I subbed the fries for coleslaw which I enjoyed as well. Creamy, not too sweet and a touch of spice. Night two I went with a half Caesar salad and order of wings. The wings were meaty, very lightly sauced. There were only 6 but that was plenty. The menu offers only a few items but spans different food interests. In all it was an okay meal but not worth traveling to. The food was quick and adequate. The service was atrocious. Hire more servers! You can't have one server for an entire restaurant. Plus you need a server who is competent, listens and follows the order instructions provided by the customer. It took forever to get him to even bring us water and then to get a refill also took forever. I don't entirely blame the server, management needs to hire more help to staff a large restaurant and needs to provide training. The soup of the day was horrible, it was a terrible representation of chicken orzo soup and it came after the entrees, which was crazy! My fish and chips were good, but I asked for the Cole slaw and tarter sauce to be left off my plate and it came anyway. My friend ordered the warm spinach salad with the Dijon honey dressing on the side. The dressing didn't come and it was nearly the end of the meal before we could flag down our server to get that dressing. This should be a 1 star but because the fish and chips was good, I'll give you a 2. You need to do better at a busy airport hotel. read more

The whole atmosphere of this place is tense from the moment you approach the hostess stand. There was only one person sitting customers and taking orders and delivering food for the most part. There was a bartender and another gentleman that would occasionally help out. The pizza definitely isn't a 9.4 like it advertised from barstool sports. It seems frozen. The plate was wet and the pizza was soggy and cool. Korean wings were great and burger was premade pressed patty for$20. Spaghetti and meatball was all from frozen. It will don't your hungry as there is nothing else around. Oh, and the $9 cheesecake for dessert can be bought at the coffee shop outside the restaurant for $6. Well............ Delayed in Newark for two nights United sent us to the Holiday Inn on 160 Frontage Rd They only gave us s $30 so this cost us a pretty penny that we will be getting back. Mediocre food at best . Ordered a Mediterranean salad with shrimp . The salad was missing olives and cucumbers. The next time it came back with olives dumped on it . Then I had to ask for the cucumbers . The shrimp is not any good quality shrimp which were not grilled at all . My wife and I stayed out in Newark because there were no hotel rooms in New York less than $600/night. We got a room at the Holiday Inn Newark International Airport (which we decided to do after seeing it was renovated in the last couple of years). The area around the airport is not nice, as most seasoned travelers know, however, the "new" Holiday Inn was a delightful surprise. The front desk operations were a finely tuned machine, and we had a DELICICOUS pizza at the restaurant, along with some wine. We don't normally eat pizza for dinner, but were not sure of the food quality, etc.---so we played it safe! What a delightful surprise. The manager, Rich, even came out to check on us and the bartender, John, provided outstanding service. We are here for the next few days, and will undoubtedly try some of the other food on the menu. read more

My husband ordered a beer which he never brought until we finally asked where it was and he said he would check on it. Miraculously it showed up! When our food arrived, he Just put the food in front of us and left. He never said a word to us. We split a meatball pizza, which, the only flavor it had was the tomato sauce. I have been here many times now and have even been to the restaurant next door at the Dbl Tree, and Ted's is far superior. You wouldn't expect how good it is. John is fantastic and recommended the fish tacos. Camilla has been our waitress on more than four occasions and she is absolutely delightful. John was right- the fish tacos are excellent. But truly -I've tasted most of their menu and I can assure, you won't be disappointed. The entire staff and customer service is warm and friendly- and a breath of fresh air after a long day. I've been there a few times and tried various items from the menu. Nothing stands out as exceptional just average at best. The burger is decent, the chicken wings were rubbery, the honey fried chicken was crispy and dry as was the chicken sandwich. Calamari was good with disappointing cherry peppers and the hanger steak was a little tough. If I can give 0 star, I will. I was discriminated because I had a service dog with me because of my medical condition. The manager who looks more like the chef asked for my service dog's ID. He laughed at it and said it was fake multiple times. Told me to SHUT UP many times and said BE QUIET. He even asked for my condition in which i answered so everyone there heard what I was going through. No one deserves to be treated like this. I was embarrassed, disrespected and discriminated. You can always talk to me and I can calmly listen. But for you to rage like that to a customer who only want to have lunch with my service dog is unacceptable. I am still in shock of this situation.
