I do not recommend Roger G Jain associates and specifically Renae Mundis-Mitchum. She quoted me around 5k - 7k for a contested divorce. She charged for every little thing while I did most of the work and digging and contesting. She ended up charging over 13k for a very simple divorce. She did not fight for me and even referred another lawyer, (more competent than her to my now ex-husband) who overpowered Renae, and thus, my ex was awarded more than he should have gotten. She did not fight back against the other lawyer and was pretty quiet during mediation and didn't give a fight or arguments, getting answers out of her was like pulling teeth sometimes and quite rudely too. I am not happy with Roger G Jain Assoc or Renae. Too bad I didn't find out more about Renae before from people/attorneys before, seems feelings mutual about her. .

*************WARNING*************…read more I hired Cromeens Law Firm to represent me regarding a residential construction defect claim. The suit fell under both RCLA/DTPA. Cromeens Law Firm's strategy was to settle the RCLA claim first then move forward with the remainder of the claims to be settled under DTPA, which I agreed to. However, where this legal strategy went south was in how the RCLA settlement came about. Unbeknownst to me, the Cromeens Law Firm had already agreed with opposing counsel in what the settlement would be without consulting me. Opposing counsel was firm on a final, complete settlement under RCLA, and take no judgment. Leaving no recoupment under DTPA. Opposing counsel was not entertaining any settlement under DTPA. I was not aware of this until the Cromeens Law Firm moved forward to begin the DTPA portion of my claim. Documentation supports the Cromeens Law Firm moved forward with me, accepting a retainer fee, billing me their hourly rate, and billed me for arbitration costs knowing full well what they had previously negotiated in order to settle the RCLA claim. I repeat the Cromeens Law Firm knew what they had agreed to in settling the RCLA claim before I even paid my retainer fee. How does this all come to light? Written communication. I received written communication from another attorney and from my bank. Instead of the Cromeens Law Firm just owning up to legal error and just being honest, I could have saved thousands of dollars. No, they continued the charade of representation. What do you think Cromeens Law Firm does when they have to decide whether to appease opposing counsel or their paying client? They drop their client! Immediately discontinue communication. At the least, I was entitled to the retainer fee back and at best I was entitled to all the monies back including the arbitration fee. The Cromeens Law Firm moved forward with arbitration and billed me during the same time they were receiving written request from opposing counsel requesting the sign off on the take no judgement. Given that the Cromeens Law Firm immediately discontinued communication, I was left with no recourse but to involve my bank to get my money back. Doing so uncovered the real reason they released me, how they colluded with opposing counsel to honor their "conspired legal strategy", which enriched his client and left me with the financial loss. Attorneys are held to certain moral, ethical, and fiduciary standards, so it was sorely disappointing that the Cromeens Law Firm used a strategy to secure the RCLA claim that was not communicated with their client and the firm was not forthcoming about what it did. Doing so would have prevented additional financial loss for their client. They did not immediately reimburse upon termination of services but instead was subject to third party intervention to recoup funds.
