We've been with Tecumseh Vet for many, many years! We first found them at their first location in 2002! Even though we moved quite a distance from their clinic-we gladly make that drive to see the very best Vets. We've always trusted Dr. Ed, Dr. Lori, and we're happy now to bring our babies to see their daughter-Dr. Tritt! You will not find more caring, and knowledgeable doctors! We have never been treated so badly! Our dog was dying and i called first thing this morning to put him down. They told us to come at 9:20 am. The grandkids were here, everyone was very emotional, my husband got there 10 minutes late and they refused to see him. They said they could take him at 1:40 pm. He went back then, got there early, in the meantime our dog was throwing up, uncontrolled bowls and suffering. When my husband got there for the second time, they said they had canceled the appointment because he was upset. You have got to be kidding me! A terrible time for our family emotionally and this is how they treat you! My adult daughter was there with my husband, she is a witness, he never swore at them or yelled. When he got home, the police came to our home because they had called them!! Never go to this horrible place,they are so unprofessional, unsympathetic, and unreasonable! By the way, we were able to walk into "The Companion Animal Clinic " and they were wonderful and our dog was peacefully put to sleep immediately. We have recently moved to the Irish Hills area and needed to change vets. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Tecumseh Veterinary Hospital. In the very short time we have known them, our Opie has been suffering with severe allergies. The Tecumseh staff has been kind, understanding, compassionate and accommodating with our last minute requests for an appointment. Dr. Laurie refers to her patients as "her children" and I believe that is how she truly feels. They are truly concerned and want to do everything they can to relieve his symptoms. read more

My family took our dog and cat here for years before we decided enough was enough. For one, I don't like the way Dr. Tritt handled my dog - she didn't like her (which hasn't happened with any other vet/person) and I noticed the way Dr. Tritt handled my dog was much more rough than necessary. Second, upon getting my young cat, they offered a kitten package for spaying/declawing all in one. I CANNOT support a vet who pimps out declawing in order to make money. They tried to tell me the way they did it with the laser made it non-painful, which is not true. You can find information anywhere, including the AVMA's website, where it says that the "improved" effect is minimal and cats can have tissue burned. Thankfully, I have taken my animals elsewhere to a vet further north who refuses to declaw and is very gentle with my animals. read more

Dr. Ed, Dr. Lorrie and the rest of the staff at Tecumseh Animal Hospital are superb! This has been our vet for a couple of years, and we have always had good experiences here. Recently, our kitten ingested string and had major intestinal damage. The doctors were able to assess the situation and had her into the surgery by the next morning. Dr. Ed called me as soon as surgery was over to explain in detail (and in layman's terms) what was wrong with her insides and how he repaired them. Over the next two weeks they were right there to check her temp and the sutures. The rest of the staff was so loving to our little fur ball - so important to us! My husband and I were "helicopter" parents and always freaked out over anything. The entire staff was so patient with us. The cost was below what we anticipated as well. While us humans may appreciate TVH, I should point out that Kit Kat is not looking forward to future visits here. :-) read more

This hospital took my dog for emergency surgery and saved her life! Their quote was $2000 less than any where else we consulted and they charged us less than they originally quoted even though the surgery ended up being far more complicated than expected (5-6 hours instead of 2-3). The facility is new and clean with advanced technology. I could not have been more impressed and will forever take my pets to Tecumseh Veterinary Hospital. read more

Having recently moved out to the Irish Hills area we needed a new vet. We choose Tecumseh Veterinary and have been very pleased. They are great with our dogs and their notification system keeps you informed as to what your pet needs. As far as being roughed as a previous post mentioned that has not been the case. In fact they are gentle with our very nervous dog and very understanding to our pets needs. read more

We buried our Yorkie yesterday. He hadn't been well for over 6 months. My son took him to the clinic regularly for his shots and preventative care. He took him in Aug for a well check because he had awful itchy skin and his coat was turning all rough -was checked over by vet and okayed. 2 weeks ago, I took him in because my son was working. A bald man with a white mustache entered the room, did not say who he was, just asked the problem. I said the little dog was smelling so horrible and chewing his skin and not feeling well and lost weight. The man who I guess was the vet did a cursory exam and said it was all due to bad teeth. He was none too gentle with the 6# Yorkie. Dog continued to worsen, I took him to another vet who said immediately the dog has kidney failure "I can tell by his smell". He showed me the pale gums, his poor coat and said the failure had been going on many months and it was irreversible. And as I stroked my dying companion, I really wondered why the vet in Tecumseh could not see what was obvious to the 2nd vet. The Tecumseh vet was rude, he kept swearing at his computer, he had no compassion and evidently is not very well-versed in disease symptoms. Really do not recommend this place. read more
