I was dying of thirst and needed a place to use the bathroom. The location appears to be a gift shop with an ice cream business on the side. Regardless, it is conveniently located at the waterfront. The shop did not have a ridiculously number of flavors. I would say it had enough. I decided to try the Mango sorbet on a waffle cone. The ice cream was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised by mango flavor. I think what I liked the most about it was that it wasn't super rich and that helped quench my thirst. I was dissapoined the establishment does not have public restrooms. Actually most the business in the area are the same way. After spending the day out on the boat fishing I was looking for a nice place to use the bathroom and rest for a little bit.

They have so much more than just comic books. They have lots of board games. There's a huge collection of posters and figurines. The comic books are separated in sections by genre. There are also many types of playing cards, pins and collectibles as well. One of the unique items at this store was they had the scripts of many popular movies and TV shoes. I saw the script of pilot episode of GOT, TBBT, Friends and among movies there was Batman, Harry Porter, LOTR, Hunger Games, Twin Peaks and hundreds of more of them. I found a Marvel poster that I liked a lot. It was reasonably priced for $15. Checkout process was quick with assistance from very friendly staff. If you are comic fan, this is an absolutely must visit place for anyone visiting the Pike Place market.

That is something I don't see often and was kind hoping someone would buy one so that I can ask them how they planned to carry it out without it being damaged. That all said there are snags about Golden Age Collectables. A collectable shop to me is usually in sort of a lower traffic area, or a mall at most. Golden Age here is in a very high traffic area, It's Pike Place after all - a tourist destination, and the store is not particularly big, neither are the aisles. It was hard to stop and look at look at anything without being in someone's way. So, the browsing experience was not great here. My friend got major icks when someone was trying to pass her in a crowded aisle... and was let's just say was a bit inappropriate about it. As a result, she wanted to wait outside for the remainder of the visit. I was not far behind due to how cramped it is. I'd say if you have in mind something you want here, check it out, but if you don't do well in tight spaces and lots of people, exercise discretion.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our visit. One of the best parts was that there was truly something for the entire family. We all had a great time digging through the boxes, searching for books to add to our collections, and enjoying the treasure hunt. If you're a comic collector and find yourself in the Seattle area, this is definitely a must-stop shop. We had an amazing time and look forward to visiting again.

But coming…read moreinside I was greeted by friendly staff and was presented with nicely organized rows and boxes of comics. They have quite the selection! I came in for Free Comic Book Day, picked up a few free old FCBD issues, and browsed. We even met the shop dog, Molly (I think?). When I couldn't find what I wanted, I asked the shop owner and he was kind enough to find them for me and explain some things about it. I bought the issues and left happy :)

They were also running a Magic event while helping us so they are very efficient. The prices were fair too! They have a space that has comics, board games, and other cool geek items from figures, plushies and more. Then they have another dedicated space for playing Magic with plenty of seating and tables as well as a section dedicated on card sleeves and singles. We're glad we stopped by and definitely check them out more often whenever we're in the area. They also have a pretty packed calendar so always something to do or check out.
