I went in to get a quote after a homeless person scratched and dented my brand new car & I trying to figure out whether I should pay out of pocket or go through insurance to avoid my insurance going up. Venny kept reassuring me that the damage was clearly vandalism & recommending that I go through insurance but still willing to do it at a good price if I decided to do it out of pocket. He told me once I decided I can drop my car off at any time. I finally decided to make a claim through my insurance and I went to drop off my car on Friday right before closing. I told Venny I had work on Wednesday early morning and would appreciate if I had my car back on Tuesday night but I was also flexible and could find accommodations if it wasn't. Ok here's the deal: I've always been a little uncomfortable going to auto shops because I don't know anything about cars. I have a tire/breaks guy but I've known him for years now. My car was struck by a motorcycle. I found Technics on a google search for san bruno auto body near me and Technics looked interesting. Google did not have the hours posted and it's Saturday. Most auto shops are not open or open only for 4-5 hours - usually closing at 12 noon. So i called and asked what time they close on Saturday. I was surprised to hear "We close at 6pm today." Wow. wow wow. Then i explained my situation to Venny. He listened and said come on down and i'll estimate it for you. I got there, Venny helped me right away. He let me get right down to business and i showed him my suv. He was extremely honest and informative. He also had integrity. He diffused my apprehension right away. Venny has an informative and calming presence. After all the business details were exchanged, Venny was very open to chat with me. He was also good at multitasking and still holding a conversation with me. And then after everything was done, he took the time to chat with me about work, life, and cool looking cars. The San Bruno area has a lot of auto body shops, so naturally I shopped around asking for quotes on how much it would cost to fix and repaint the front bumper of my BMW which was damaged during a collision. After going to about 4 body shops in the area, I decided to go with Technics Autobody. Not only did they have the best price in the area, the owner of the shop (Venny) was also super friendly and very honest. When I came to pick up my car...wow! The bumper looked brand new! When i came in based on the time we agreed upon, he was there rt away to attend to my car for the left tail light that was broken. I bought a piece fr Ebay and im lucky they still hv the 89 honda accord model for that piece. Venny replaced it and still managed to talk to me so friendly while working. We have brought three cars to Venny. First, he repaired the roof of our 2004 Ford Expedition. He was honest that the roof had already been compromised with rust and if water had already gotten in, that there wasn't much we could do. But he did a great job, on time, less than quoted all with a smile! After the recent storms, I'm happy to say that the roof has not leaked. Saving us from a bad headliner! Next, we bought a new Lincoln Aviator. I'm super short so I ordered running boards online. I stopped in to see if Venny would install them for me. Yep! He did and even called the manufacturer when he had questions! Top notch customer service! Recently we brought in our daughters 2017 Mazda 3. Someone backed into her white car on the front passenger side. This is the first auto claim we have ever had. Venny explained about original part replacement. Insurance companies do not automatically pay for that. After market parts would have been used. It's a car with very low mileage so obviously I wanted original parts. I brought my car to Venny after being rear-ended with a pre-estimate from the other driver's insurance. Right away, he was on a video call with the insurance company talking to the estimator, taking pictures and adjusting the estimated work. I read reviews on Yelp, and decided to give this mom&pop place a try. Best decision I have made in a long time. Venny is an honest person, and that's hard to find today. My Mercedes was "keyed" by some A-hole who hates people who save enough money to buy a nice car. Despite being down to/into the metal, Venny fixed my car at half the price quoted to me by my insurance-suggested repair shop. Done as promised in 3 days.
