When I finally got my laptop back the case was cracked from where it had been taken apart for the repair. Unbelievable. I had a problem with my desktop PC where it would no longer power on. Hit the power switch and…read morenothing would happen. I had built this PC myself about 8 or 9 years ago and made updates to it over the years (power supply, CPU, memory and graphics card). When this happened, I investigated the problem myself and determined that the problem was my motherboard. Note: I had NO problems with my OS; this was purely a hardware failure. I wanted to have a second opinion that the problem was in fact the motherboard before buying a new one and going through the hassle of rebuilding the system, so I took it to Techsedo. I paid $45 to have them diagnose the issue. They took a look at it and confirmed that the motherboard was the cause and to my surprise they said they could fix the issue by replacing some capacitors on the board for $80 more. I didn't even realize that the board could be fixed this way and since I am really short on time currently, I decided to have them perform the service. The Good: They were able to fix the motherboard and save me the hassle of getting another and rebuilding the system. They said that they found additional capacitors that needed to be replaced in the system and fixed them as well with no additional charge. They also tidied up my cabling and cleaned inside and outside the case at no additional charge. This was perfect. The Bad: I made an assumption that they could not possibly do anything to my PC at the OS level as I did not give them my account passwords. This was wrong. They somehow removed the passwords from both my personal account and my admin account. They installed some new software - some sort of cleanup software. They turned off my antivirus software. They changed my personal account from standard to admin. They changed my desktop shortcuts and my taskbar appearance. Fearing what else they had done, I immediately reformatted my primary disk and reinstalled Windows 7. Fortunately, I keep all of my important files on an external network drive. Disabled anti-virus software coupled with using an admin account on the Windows OS is a horrible mix. I wonder how many customers do not catch these things, get a virus and need to return for additional service? The Other: When I picked up my PC, a secondary disk was no longer working. This disk was fine prior to taking the PC to the shop. I cannot positively blame Techsedo for this as I know that the drive could have been damaged during transport, but I am suspicious after reading other reviews of this business. Summary: While I am very happy that Techsedo was able to repair my motherboard, based on the completely unacceptable return condition of my machine at the OS level, I would absolutely NOT recommend this business.

I did not use their services but this was my experience. I brought in a gaming laptop I bought for…read more$450 a few years ago (it was a Victus of FB marketplace). I set it down and told him it wouldn't turn on and explained what I tried. He told me his rate was $125 per 30 minutes and he wouldn't even touch it until I agreed. So he didn't know if he could even fix it let alone how long or if there would be added costs for the fix. He told me this was a "VERY fair rate". So this was WAY more than I expected to pay being an hour of work equated to over half the cost of my device. I then went to Micro Center down the road who could diagnose it for $80 flat and would help cover any costs of the fix. I went with Micro Center and they fix my computer and returned it 3 days later for $120 total. Now I think this business could've fixed my computer same day but I would've guessed at double the price and I didn't mind waiting. Overall I'm giving this a 2 because it seems expensive and telling me it was a fair rate seemed dishonest. The one employee wasn't overall very mean or anything but he came across as unwilling to help or answer any questions I had.
