I had to stop going her because of the loud, bigoted stylists. They openly discuss conspiracy theories, talk poorly about the LGBT community, and gossip about their clients for having different opinions. They don't even try to hide it. They're VERY loud. Amy took me from dingy dull brown with dead, split ends, just to what I asked her for! See for yourself... I enjoyed nice hot coffee and creamer, a foot stool under the dryer and wash basin, which was great for my injured back, great company from Amy, while actually getting what I wanted with my hair- all at a very reasonable price even! :-) I LOVE AMY! So i call this place on Friday to get an appointment for a haircut and the lady who picks up I tell her that i need a 3 o clock appointment. She said for Tessa theres only a 4:00 pm appointment available and I had not checked the timings online for Saturday but thinking she made me an appointment for that time they would be open. She noted my name and confirmed if it was for today and I said yes. I drive all the way there just to find out they close at 4 on Saturday. Seriously? Never ever going to this place again. If you take people on appointments only then dont just give out times when you are closed. Didnt see any sense here. read more

Being someone strapped for cash yet not willing to give up getting my hair done, I decided going back home to Bakersfield was my best option. My mom and some of her coworkers get their hair done here by many of the different stylists, but on a whim I chose Terra. She's a young twenty-something with a knack for color. I'm picky; I'll admit it. I want highlights without looking like I have stripes of color. Let's say I pay to look natural. Oxymoron? Ahh it's possible, but so worth it. Terra takes her time and does exactly what I ask and the girl is great at color! Cut is good too but I usually get a trim, big whoop. I mean in a pinch, I'll trim my own bangs. But do my own color? Methinks not! The salon is small and nothing about it screams, "Amazing!" But I don't care about that. I want a good color and cut for an amount that won't break the bank. And that's exactly what I get. I've been coming here for about a year now and I drive 2 hours for it. Totally worth the torturous drive up the grapevine, even in the snow ;) read more

Four stars given to this cute salon based on: 1) Comparison to other salons in the Kern County area (I've lived here all my life), and 2) The specific hairdresser I chose. Walking into Teaze, I've always received an immediate warm greeting, even the first time I walked in. This may seem pretty standard, but in an area where "everybody knows your name", sometimes if you aren't a regular or there isn't somebody working in the salon that you're related to, it can be quite common to receive about 10 blank stares that without words ask the question, "What do you want?" And now, Terra. She is SUPER cute, very very nice, and won't talk your ear off about what her coworker's baby daddy's cousin did last weekend at the club with her uncle's daughter's best friend. She is focused on her work and makes delightful conversation. That aside, the girl has skills! She is amazing with color - I went from brunette to blonde recently and I was really worried about it, but she added highlights that didn't look like "streaks" and the tones didn't wash me out at all (which was my biggest concern). She really takes her time with her cuts and I've loved the dimension and body that is added to my hair every time I get my hair cut with her. Highly recommended! read more

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Tessa for about four years now. Let me tell you she knows what she is doing!! Being blonde I have struggled growing my hair out. It would constantly break and would never grow past my shoulders. Tessa turned my hair around and I am able to have long beautiful hair and still be blonde!! I relocated to Monterey and will be driving four hours to get my hair done by her. She is super sweet and always works with my schedule. She really is the best!!!!! Will not go back. The woman who cut my hair had no idea how to do so according to the picture I gave her and instead of letting me know or asking someone for help, she cut it differently and told me I'd have to play with it at home. She didn't get the color right and kept calling me 'girlie'. I do think she took the effort to check the schedule to see who was coming in, nor did she introduce herself. She didn't clean up the sides or the back. I feel like I paid her to do what I could at home. They really need to work on their customer service. read more

I ended up going here after seeing the reviews. All I did was have my hair cut and was with Kara. She was great! So nice and friendly. My only complaint is I wasn't able to pay with me card, so I have to go next door and buy something to get cash back and pay her. Overall, I will be going back next time I need my hair done. read more

I have been on a mission in the last 10 years to find a hairdresser in Bako that can do it all & gives a care about the integrity of my hair. I have been through it with bad stylist & over priced hair salons that just want to shove products down my throat. I have FINALLY found a stylist with the education & experience of a L.A. Based stylist her name is Kristen Lindsey. If are looking for someone who has worked at Bumble to Bumble in L.A & can cut like a professional ,understands color precisely, does extensions,, & does an awesome blowout look her up @ Teaze salon. I didn't just write this after going to her once or twice but @ least 6 times & she is always on point with my hair. It doesn't get better than her in this town & her prices are always fair. read more

This message is in response to Deborah. This absolutely was an honest mistake. My fee for a haircut is $40, however salon pricing starts at $35. We all are different prices in the salon being that we are independent contractors. I made an honest mistake, and all I tried to do was to inform Deborah were the miscommunication was and how it happened, and that I would refund her the $20 if she felt I was in the wrong. I then informed her that I could not partially refund a credit card and she would have to pick it up. It's been sitting at our front desk for the last 2 weeks with her yet to come and receive it. I would never tell someone a fee with a price of tip included, that is not my place. I honestly thought that was the price I heard her say, and she did sign the amount for her friend, and had the opportunity to see the price before sending. Im sorry Deborah that you had a bad experience, and I tried calling you to rectify this. I believe things got very misconstrued by sending txt messages. read more

Amazing! I, along with many friends and family, have been seeing Tessa for a few years and I have never been disappointed. Tessa always listened to me and gave me the exact cut and highlights I asked for. My hair looked amazing and I was always getting compliments and asked who does my hair. She is a fantastic lady and a superb stylist. It was a sad day when my husband was transferred and we had to move. I'm struggling to find anyone who even comes close to Tessa. read more

I had my hair cut and colored last thursday. The experience was fine, and I liked the finished product. When I got home, I realized that the bottom half of my scalp still had gooey hair dye in it. I've been trying to call, but have not been able to reach anyone. I'll try calling on Monday, but I was not happy that I had to wash out product that should have been washed out by the stylist. read more

My first time here and they were able to get me in right away. The receptionist was nice but on personal calls. The hairdresser, danielle was amazing. She listened and understood what i wanted. I must say I have never felt so taken advantage by a salon then my experience here with Kristin. I received a hair cut and forgot my moeny at home I called my best friend who I placed on speaker and she said she would take care of it since I lived across town. She asked Kristin to do a credit card transaction via phn and of course Kristin was more then willing. The receptinist had informed me prior to my appoitment that the fee was $35. Kristin informed me the total was $40 I assumed including tip. Only to find out a week later she charged my friends account $60. When I brought it to Krisitns attention she said she would return the $20 if I was that bothered by it. What I thought was an honest mistake seems to be the way she does business. Hi I have been getting my hair done for years. My first time here I thought it was going to be a good experience by the reviews on here. I was totally wrong I had a simple thing being done black on bottom red on top with a few black streaks on top. I thought I had no worries. But I get home and the back of my head was extremely burned. Went to the er and they comfirmed that it was a chemical burn. I called the Salon to be address with such attitude from the owner. I brought in all my papers and pics and my head which is still scabed up a week later. The stylist reina then told me I don't have the money I will give it to you tomorrow that was Tuesday I went in and now its Thursday and they are ignoring my calls now. So unprofessional. read more
