Went to the Afternoon Tea Time in the Grand Hotel. You have to pay $10 admission to get in if your are not staying at the hotel. The room was beautiful, however a bit crowded. Get there on time to ensure you get a nice space. Also, once it gets busy, it can take a bit for them to take your order. They were able to accommodate so adjustments to the items on my food tower to align with my Pescatarian diet. Will definitely attend tea time again next time I'm in Mackinac.

Went back to visit the island for the first time in over 20 years. A lot more places to eat now and it could just be post Covid but the traffic seems to be way up from what I remember. Went to tour the fort and decided why not eat up at the tea room up there to avoid the crowds downtown. Great. Freaking. Idea. The view was absolutely perfect. Weather? Perfect. Service? Perfect. Food? Not so perfect. Although expensive for what it was, the salad was lacking and greens wilted. It's not bad, just don't expect fantastic. Would I eat here again? The views and calm will make up for what the food lacks.

Following a visit to Fort Mackinac, lunch here is a must. The pizza is a great option, as well as the quinoa, corn, and avocado salad. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The view=astounding. We came in early May when the Island was starting to come out of hibernation. Perfect! Prices are reasonable for the view and cuisine. Do it!

Best lunch view from the island! Somewhat reasonably priced. Had the flat bread pizza with chicken, very good. Fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. They do have kids menu for those with little ones, ask if they don't bring you one initially. If you share a meal they charge $3 fee. They also have desserts but are pretty expensive.. Like $12 for a slice of pie. Beer lovers-You can also order the special Bells beer big porch here.

Amazing view. Great service. Pretty good food. I liked my salad, but it wasn't amazing & a little expensive. I recommend the place bc the view & the service is wonderful & the food is pretty good. Caveat* you have to pay to go to the fort in order to eat here

Our waiter balancing a tray of glasses on his head without using his hands. Sorry about the long range, but he was fast!

We brought the dogs out to eat, and they were cool about it. That alone would have earned the Tea Room a good rating. Here's something else. Take a look at that picture. Note that I didn't photograph the food. This view - which every diner gets - is so breathtaking that it makes everything taste better. To be honest, we enjoyed drinks and had a gigantic bowl of crispy tortilla chips with some chunky guacamole and a too-thin salsa. When I say chunky, I mean 1/4" chunks of avocado; I love guacamole that doesn't make you forget there's avocado in it. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because we didn't try a full meal. But, that's our loss.

This is my 1st meal out in a restaurant since Feb 2020! Unbelievable! I really like this tea room, fantastic view of the lake, and the service is also good and prompt! So does the food. I ate two person's meal as my husband didn't eat because it's not up to his eating time yet.

Expensive food and drinks Not many options The 4 stars are for freshness of the food and the View. We were tired from hiking up the hill to the fort. You have to have bought a ticket for the fort, I think it was about 11 each. We ordered sandwiches (ham and cheese)that came with a bag of chips and a cup of fruit. Those were 11.75 each. There was a $14 glass of wine which we passed on. Even though the seats are metal the round curved ones actually were so super comfy and felt good to relax and enjoy the view.

Quinoa, corn, and avocado salad. Refreshing and flavorful.

Wish I could give 1/2 stars. This place is probably a 3.5. Good food. Pretty good service. Availability even on busy days at the Fort. Absolutely gorgeous view. Maybe the best on the island. Certainly for dining. My salad was delicious. If I'm being super critical little more salt, and it could have used some cracked pepper (and I know I could just add it myself). The avocado was not seasoned either. Still, a beautiful plate of food and hit the spot on a hot day. Very refreshing. The lime vinaigrette had a good acid tango. Ingredients were fresh.

The Tea Room is located in the fort, so in order to visit you must first pay fort admission. Outside seating allows for one of the most beautiful views of the water. This made for one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had since coming to the area. As for the meal offerings, they offer sandwiches, soup, and salads (a children's menu is also available). I was impressed by the sizes of the sandwiches, which are accompanied by chips and fresh fruit. Our meal was tasty, the scenery was beautiful, and the weather was perfect. We really couldn't ask for more while visiting the island.

The tearoom has spectacular views on a beautiful porch overlooking the harbor. The food is good lunch fare. I had a tuna on a croissant with fruit. The servers were pleasant.

The view is incredible from here, you have to enter the fort ($12 or state pass) to be able to enter the restaurant. They have simpler food and it's more suited for lunch. I had their beef pasty which was pretty good. It had a beef sauce on top and it was really good after adding some tabasco on top. The service was a bit slow but since it's during peak season, it's understandable. It's worth going to just to be able to take in the view over the downtown Mackinac Island.

Food was amazing! And great service. The food itself was decently priced for the location and the view. The unfortunate thing is that you have to pay $13.50 just to get into the fort to eat lunch. Although the food and view was spectacular, the overall price is just not worth it.

(It's not on the menu, but they do have a size smaller than 12 ounces -- just ask.) When the people behind the counter learned that the hot chocolate was for a child, these considerate people took the extra step to make the drink a little cooler in temperature than normal. And I didn't even have to ask! Because, you know, kids can't tolerate any type of food or drink that isn't tepid. I appreciated that thoughtfulness! I ordered a black coffee, and unfortunately, I didn't like it at all. It tasted burnt and like hot prune juice -- just not good. I'm sure the coffee tastes good in drinks with milk and sugar in them, but as a black coffee drinker, the black coffee needs to stand on its own. Lucky Bean is located off the main drag, in a cute little neighborhood. The inside of the coffee shop is tight -- there is barstool seating by the window, but mostly, this is a to-go coffee shop. It's small, and you can't really stay and drink your beverages here.

My smoothie standards are sky-high, and the smoothie that I had a Watercolor Cafe was amazing. It was so good that I made everyone at the table taste it, and we agreed: superb smoothie. The Blueberry Bliss has blueberries, banana, white chocolate and oak milk in it. I wish there were a little more nutritious (maybe throw in some flax, hemp seed and/or chia), but maybe that's why it's so delicious. Another delicious thing: the Peanut Butter Deluxe Toast, which is creamy peanut butter and sliced bananas with a drizzle of honey on wheat bread. Super tasty and filling! I got the avocado toast, and it wasn't my favorite. The avocado tasted more like packaged guacamole, and I got it with an egg, which is literally a hard-boiled egg that sits on top. Also, the toast was more like just a soft piece of bread. I mean, I guess technically, all of the components are there, but the execution needed some work. The breakfast burrito was super tasty (it came with chorizo), and one of my kids got the kids' mac and cheese, which came with a cookie. When these guys say that breakfast is served until 11 a.m., they really mean it! We visited around 10:50, wanting to order off of the lunch menu, but they didn't let us. I think the only lunchy offerings during breakfast time is the kids' menu. The seating inside is very cute: There's a craft station with paper, coloring books, and all kinds of colored pencils and things to create something at your table. Outside, you can sit on the patio and enjoy the view of the lake. Dogs are welcome on the patio and given water and a treat!

Ordered a chipotle turkey, bacon on the side, Michelangelo, snickerdoodle latte with oat milk latte, water bottle and a berry infused lemonade. The berry infused lemonade has some fake sugar in it, real sugar would make it better. The blueberries are still frozen, not fresh. Bummer. The snickerdoodle latte with oat milk was good. Flavorful. The chipotle chicken was tasty. The bread was nicely toasted. The Michelangelo was decent until my husband tried to bite into a piece of bone in the chicken. Not cool! Good thing he didn't break a tooth biting into it harder or swallow it whole in the middle of big bite. I did let the staff know about the bone in the chicken. I watched them all examine the bone in the back kitchen. The front desk woman offered to give a refund. I told her it's more important that she was made aware that it occurred than the refund. There are quite a few bees inside the patio. My husband got bitten on the back of his neck while eating lunch. Not a great lunch experience so far. He even wished my mom a happy Mother's Day before taking our order, which was a nice touch. We started with the Street Corn Nachos as an appetizer, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich, both with fries on the side (an additional $4 each). This was an excellent place to bring my mom since she's vegetarian, and the restaurant had plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The food was excellent, especially the nachos -- the queso was amazing. The restaurant also gives you a lot of customization options, like swapping chips for fries for an extra $4 or adding protein to the nachos for an additional charge. That said, while the nachos were really good, they were still $18 without any protein, which honestly felt overpriced for chips, cheese, and vegetables. We came during lunch service, and overall the food, service, and view made for a great experience. However, it is definitely on the expensive side. Most entrees seemed to range from around $20-30. Still, if you're willing to spend a little more for quality food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere, it's definitely worth visiting.
