This has now arrived in Sydney on George Street but in a much more glamorous setting than a roadside cart. Given our rules regarding food safety, the ingredients are kept behind a refrigerated glass counter and you order off a sheet of paper. How do Asian countries manage to keep food at ambient temperatures roadside without 'issues' ? Anyhow, the choice of ingredients is quite staggering from meats, vegetables, balls of various fillings, noodles and tofu. The thing to keep in mind is that the bowl isn't very big so you can't load it all up with too much and the big thing to note is that it all adds up very quickly from a $$ perspective. I ended up paying $14.70 (and I don't think I went overboard with my choices either) which is a very expensive bowl of takeout hotpot with noodles. Something similar in Taiwan probably cost me about $3. The browl was very fragnant and as a I had chose mild spicy level, it had a good kick to it.
