Stopped by Tea Bar after hanging out by the little creek in the back of the strip. I have wanted a fruit tea for the last couple days so it was nice that the joint was conveniently in the area. Walking in, the joint is cute! There's a little shelf of stuffed animals and other little toys. There's two carts by the register full of treats and different variety of ramen noodles. I appreciate their menu board being front and center. They have it all categorized for you. Milk tea, fruit tea, slushies... And below each category are your flavor options. I got a strawberry and lychee fruit green tea today. The gal that helped me was really sweet! She got my drink all rang up and asked if I wanted any boba. I decided on some mango jellies. I was very excited for my fruit tea! They smashed out a couple orders that were a head of me. Before I knew it, my drink was ready. I did notice that my drink was dark, richer in color than I'm used to. I was kinda nervous to drink it but man was it good! You can taste the flavors! It's sweet! There was a slight bitterness from the tea but it didn't overpower the drink. And you get a ton of jellies on your drink! I ended up going back to the creek and enjoying the rest of my drink there. I don't know if I'll be in this area again soon. I'll be heading towards Millcreek this week so I have a whole new area to check out. But if I do make my way to the Sugar House area again, I will make sure to stop in and grab another great fruit tea! read more

I have ordered Tea Bar a couple of times on DoorDash as well as trying it at the Asian festival. Everything I've eaten or drank thus far has been amazing. It seems like they advertise more for the boba but the food is a hidden gem. I have had the fried tofu several times and I am lowkey addicted to it. It is really spicy so just fyi in case that's a pro or a con for you, you can choose the spice level, but just know that spicy means spicy here. I would like to go back and have the chicken rice soon. read more

I was really excited to try Tea Bar after hearing good things from my friends, but unfortunately, my drink did not meet my expectations. I ordered their Original Milk Tea w/ Boba, 75% sweet. I like their sugar ratio and could have gone with 100% sweet since it wasn't overly sweet. Sadly, the milk tea did not have a strong tea flavor. Also, the texture of the boba was off. It was a bit hard in the middle and was almost crumbly. It seemed like it may have been an old batch. I wasn't able to finish my drink and ended up tossing it, unfortunately. I do have to say that the barista working there was very friendly, and the inside was clean, with a good amount of seating. Also, we were able to find street parking very easily. I hope that I just happened to go on an off day for them, but based on my visit, I'm not sure that I will return. read more

if you're in salt lake city and craving some boba, this is a place to go! this is also an easy go-to place to hang out with some friends, there's a ton of seating inside :) i would recommend the original milk tea! it was light and refreshing for a warm day, and it satisfied the craving. i got 75% sweet but would probably enjoy the 100% sweet as well. the boba wasn't flavorful, but it was very chewy and that's more important IMO. i would pass on the thai tea though, it was pretty watered down and wasn't very tasty (you're better getting one at a thai restaurant). there are so many drink options and they also offer snacks. i saw a customer's blended drink and it looked soooo good, so i definitely want to come back to try that next. :) read more

Delicious boba, lots of options! While visiting our friends in Salt Lake, they told us to try this spot! We wanted to come here first thing in the morning but unfortunately found out that the place didn't open until 12:00 PM. Tea Bar used to be my favorite Taiwan eats and bubble tea spot. But these past few months things have gone a little downhill. Let me explain why Tea Bar may or may not be for you: Drink quality. For the mango green tea and taro milk , one would expect the sugar levels to be reasonably measured and adjusted. But even at max sugar levels these drinks are extremely plain in flavor, and no adjustments are allowed after you're given the drink. A reason for this stinginess of sugar levels may be due to the need to cut back on costs. But this problem extends even further, such as the poor quality of cups (plastic that bends at the lightest touch and cannot be held really). The food. All the food items here are still quite good, so not much to say about that. I recommend the fried chicken meal, fried tofu, and the fried black rice. Really hope Tea Bar can turn things around with the drinks, because I still love the vibe and food quality here. read more

The korean short Rib was edible, the flavor was well season, as it is not overwhelmingly sweet. There was a lot of rice, but so little meat. I see where other reviewers are coming from with their comments about customer service... it certainly was not a warm and friendly experience. That being said, my husband and I were still immediately charmed by this place. Their decor and branding are adorable, from their colorful chalkboard menu to the french bulldog themed cups. The layout is small but effective, with many tables of various sizes. We got a machta and a blueberry black tea, and both loved our drinks. There were so many items on the menu I want to try! We didn't try the food so I can't comment on that, but I like the idea of coming here for a little afternoon snack. Anywhere that has a drinks loyalty punch card gets points in my book - I love freebies! I ordered a large taro milk tea with boba. It was about $6 and something cents. Bubble tea can get pretty pricy but if you're comparing it to Starbucks every day, it's fine. This is probably up there among the two best bubble teas I've ever had. The other is in Boston in Chinatown years ago. I usually prefer to spend most of my money on food rather than drinks, but this is worth it as a dessert/treat on a hot day. They did ask us to put on masks as we walked in which is totally their personal decision and I completely respect that. Previously, I had given Tea Bar 5 stars. I have been going to Tea Bar since high school (maybe starting 2015 or 2016) and at one point, I almost went every day. I used to study in the corner of the store for hours or just visit with friends. This used to be the best bubble tea place, but over time I don't believe this is true anymore. The drinks are decent and taste pretty okay. Their boba is sometimes soft, sometimes it is hard or harder than it should be. The drinks are not too special as the menu has stayed pretty much the same for years now, but I think the prices have gone up since I started going. Overall, I don't disapprove of Tea Bar, but I do not think it is 5 stars anymore. The drinks taste just okay, but the prices are kind of high. Yes it is true that you won't win them all here. I've had a couple of milks and slushes that were a bit bland and underwhelming- BUT when you find your item you won't be disappointed. Get Mango Mania while it's still around. It's a firehose of flavor with no extra sugar added. Also I have never gone wrong with the sides. Sometimes the sides are better than the boba In summary I would personally...avoid milks and slushes, get a smoothie or tea instead and definitely follow it up with a hot side. I always order the wintermelon green tea. The thing I love about tea bar is that they have the option to add sea salt cream to this drink option. The only other places that I've encountered this is out of state like California so it's a huge plus that tea bar offers this. It adds a bit of saltiness to the drink which adds a unique flavor. Coming from California I have had my fair experience of boba shops so I know what to look for when trying out a new place. Unfortunately, this place did not meet my expectations. The menu is very generic and doesn't have a lot of tea options. Mostly fruit flavored drinks that I am pretty sure are just from a powder mix. I came in on a Thursday night about 2 hours before closing and decided to get the matcha milk tea with boba pearls. I asked for half sweetness and half ice as I usually do for all the places I try. The drink itself was overbearingly sweet to be considered "half-sweetness", which was very disappointing. The pearls were also definitely a mix of overcooked (super chewy) and hard in the middle (old/sitting out). I assume this is the case due to the fact that they are about to close within two hours and so the pearls are not as fresh. I also found this place a little expensive compared to the many boba shops I went to. On the bright side, the service was pretty good and the shop is at a very nice location in a plaza with pretty lights when dark. There is a decent amount of seating as well as outside tables. Can definitely be a nice place to hangout with friends or study. Maybe next time I'll try the food as they have a good selection of items on their menu. read more

Probably the most disappointing boba spot I've ever been to. I'd recommend Quickly's over this and that says a lot... This place is in the heart of Sugarhouse and is in a primo location to do well. I think it thrives on location which is why it's often fairly busy. Prices are higher than other locations likely due to cost of operations. What's disappointing is that this place doesn't have authentic flavors. I ordered an Oolong Milk tea, half sweet, which should be a deep tea with a hint of sweet. Instead of that, I think they gave me chocolate milk. Now I know that Baskin Robbins recently started selling boba, but I didn't know that they also supplied this place with ingredients. I also tried their Mango Green Tea and if it was horrifically sweet with half sweet and the green tea was watered down. It's unfortunate, but I guess that's how it goes. read more

My last time visiting was a couple months ago on a Saturday, after we ordered and waited for 45 mins, I approached the counter to ask about my order and the cashier mentioned that the kitchen was still working on it, no apology, no explanation, no ETA. I'm not a logistics expert; just saying if I have to wait for 45 mins to get my boba drink, that means the real cost of the drink is now 30+ dollars. read more

Okay. I love boba. It's in my blood. And coming from Seattle it has been hard pressed to be able to find a place that has decent boba smoothies for me. I've heard good things about this place so I wanted to give it a try since I was up in the area. I usually stick to the fruit slushees with boba and see how that goes. I got a mango fruit slush. They use syrup, which is fine, but mine was sooooo overly sweet I could barely finish it! But for almost $5 I was disappointed in the quality. I did appreciate the fresh boba. You could tell it wasn't frozen and super yummy! My sister, on the other hand, whose way more picky about her boba, got a green tea milk smoothie and really liked it.
