TDS here in Mesquite Nevada is really bad. I have had more outages here in Mesquite, NV in last 3 years than I have had in prior city where lived 20 years. I share the same sentiment with Brandi O on her review dated 8/21/2025. TDS did the same to us. We canceled our WiFi service with TDS on 11/17 and since we did auto-pay on 11/16, a day late, we were charged the full month. When we called to ask for pro-rated refund, we were told that TDS does not pro-rate whatsoever! It is maddening and upsetting that we paid almost $90 for nothing! It is a crime and robbery to me! What kind of WiFi service that does not pro-rate??!! Another issue, TDS does not honor what they said. When we first signed up, we were told our monthly bill will not go up, it will be " for life," that is the truth. But an email came last month stating that our monthly bill will be higher by $40. I completely understand why this service is rated so POORLY!!!!! I canceled my account today (08/21), yet I'm still being charged through 09/19. That's nearly $100 for absolutely nothing--and it's outrageous. This kind of policy feels incredibly unfair and misleading. I've never experienced customer service this bad, and I'm genuinely shocked that this is even allowed. I reached out hoping for a reasonable resolution, but instead I'm left paying for a service I no longer use. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. After 20 min. wait in the phone someone barely speaking came up on the phone and after hearing my issue disconnected the line. No privacy policy for the state of Utah. The privacy policy does not spell out "We don't sell, trade or give away your personal information to third parties" It is ambiguous and open for interpretetation. read more

The new system installed by TDS for billing/account purposes is terrible. Phone assist, trying multiple numbers on TDS documents and sights was even worse. Invested almost 2 hours on hold over 4 attempts with NO customer service contact at all. The wait time just went on and on until they wore me out each time. read more

Poor customer service, long hold times, billing and WEB pages are screwed up, good service as long as you do not change anything, the new service TV plus has less channels poor video and is more expensive, I cancelled my cable service, unknown to me we were 5 days into a billing cycle and was not told that I would be billed for a complete month, so I am paying for a full month service for a 5 day period, This is not a reputable company, go elsewhere if you can. read more

I contacted customer service about a bill that was received for my late sister. She passed away in January of 2024 and we did not receive any from TDS until August 2024. It was for only $40. The service address did not have TDS during that time so we called to ask for it to be removed and both the customer service person and the supervisor I spoke with were not willing to remove from account. Trying to collect $40 from a family of deceased person is crazy. The supervisor had terrible customer service. She should have apologized for the inconvenience of the bill being sent and removed it from their accounts. When I offered to pay it on the phone she said it would cost $5 extra. Who demands payment in the middle of a 30 day cycle? TDS Telecom that's who. Their website claims no longer need a cable modem but can use an optical network terminal (ONT) in place of it and states installation is free. But when I contacted them, the rep said would need to rent their modem to connect to the ONT for $10/month. Was costing me $78 a month for 300 Mbps internet using my own cable modem/router. Went with another service for $64 for 500 Mbps and $8 per month for ONT and router. Basically $15 per month cheaper and 66% faster. Service only went down a couple time a year, and while speed would decrease significantly during major events and holidays, it wasn't to the point of excessive buffering while streaming. I give them 4 stars for service reliability, and one star for value and billing. read more

Trying to cancel my subscription and boxes. Very rude company. Puts me on hold for 30+ minutes and when I do talk to someone, they hung up on me. Do you really want to deal with a company that makes YOU (their customer) wait 30+ mins and then HANG up on you? Not very good for their reputation. Been on the phone all day with them to get no where. Problems after problems with customer service. I don't recommend this company. Very rude to their customers/clients. read more

The hold time to speak with someone is RIDICULOUS!!!! 30 minutes or more EVERY time! Hire more people! Other than that my service has always been very good and the people that work for TDS are very nice. TDS just needs to do better with the hold time when a consumer is calling in. read more

I have been with tds for 4 years now and the speed is horrible especially today when I was working on the net,the download was.80 and the upload was .22 are you kidding me so I grabbed the box and took it to there office and the bxxxxx there said that I would have to pay for another month for a service that does not work,save your money and go elsewhere. I have there tv which is shiiiit also but it is in my association fees so I am stuck with it until I sell and get the hell out of this town. read more

I'm just rating the Customer Service call line. Horrible! The agents are nice and helpful once you actually get to talk to one, but waiting on hold for 40 minutes to an hour is not exactly helpful. You can leave a number for call back but that's not always convenient. I've done this before and it was two hours before they called backed. They need more agents. I wonder if they have two and that's why it takes forever. I suggest going to their store where waiting is minimal. read more
