TD Bank - Needed cash on a Saturday! Of course TD was open

Bank. TD Bank's are…read morescattered all over the place and this location is semi-convenient to me. That being said, I try not to go in here unless absolutely imperative. The location is on a busy corner and is totally undermanned and overwhelmed. There are just not enough tellers to handle the crush and seemingly every person on line has something complicated to discuss when they get up to the tellers. Their banking products department is also humming but at least there seems to be one person stationed per desk - unlike the teller window area. TD does have one redeeming aspect- they have their penny arcade where you can dump in your loose change, get the tally print out and get cash at the teller. The concept is great and there are no fees for the transaction - you do not even have to have an account. The downside of course is that you will inevitably get behind some guy with a hand truck and 5 gallon bottle of coins. Although they aren't supposed to use the machines for huge quantities of coins, the 2 women ahead of me, who were clearly together, commandeered both the change counters and proceeded to just about destroy them with the huge quantity of coinage they dumped in. Clearly the own a laundromat or something that generates huge quantities of coins - they shouldn't be allowed near those machines. In any case they managed to fill the machines no less than 10 times - which meant that the manager had to keep coming out to replace the bags. It was a nightmare to watch. In any case you eventually get your coins counted then stand on the 1 or 2 teller line and wait another 15 minutes to get your cash. The place was also not the cleanest - I doubt highly I would ever go back to this branch. Parking is available but tight.

I personally have been a Citibank customer for over 35 years…read more I generally bank at a different branch of Citibank. I went in with my parents to help them with some financial matters that needed to be taken care of. We had a scheduled appointment and we where taken right on time. We sore a Citigold representative who was extremely helpful and very nice. This is one of Citibank's smaller branches but has all you need. The staff are friendly and very helpful. If in the area again I would use this branch again.

Every check that I wrote bounced even though there was more than enough money to cover the checks. While calling Citibank to ask why my checks weren't being covered, they said they needed to verify my information to which they had my wrong phone number on file. I went to the bank to speak to Nicole Adams who was the person that set up my account to which she said there was nothing she could do (She was not helpful, rude & dismissive) I tried to send a zelle to cover my bills since my checks were not being honored to which they froze my account. I called citibank again and they wanted to know details as to who the zelle was for. I told them I needed to pay rent and the zelle was to my landlord, they started asking questions as to how I knew my landlord and when we met. I responded why is it your business to know who I was sending payments to? They then hung up on. I cannot make payments via zelle or check and no-one is helping me. Do not do business with Citibank,

Sometime in 2019, NEFCU changed its name to Jovia Financial Credit Union. The reason for changing…read moretheir name is that the credit union believed the NEFCU name was outdated and confusing to prospective members. I would agree since the previous name, NEFCU, is an acronym which spells out Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union. The new name provides a much clearer definition of the bank's business. There is a meaning to the name Jovia, a word derived from jovial. One can guess why they concluded that the new name should be Jovia. I believe Jovia has intentions on growing their customer business in the coming years by adding additional branches. It has been difficult with the pandemic to enjoy personal banking at any institution. I have not engaged with this bank often regardless that I am a savings customer. They do I have favorable savings rates compared to other banking institutions.
