The servers were much nicer this time too and they have done some upgrades to the restaraunt including TV's with sports. We've already been twice this trip to Newport and I would definitely go again.

Somebody came out and said their fryer was broken so they were baked... But taste it you can taste broccoli and cheddar! Did you taste your own food because it was really terrible? I took them home because I thought maybe I could fry them up myself with oil in a pan and have them taste it the way they are supposed to... If you're going to advertise appetizers that are usually crispy and fried they should taste that way or say they are baked so people know The lady said oh the chicken Parmesan we do it differently. We make a stuffed chicken with cheese and ham and I was like oh that sounds interesting but I get up tiny diced up pieces of chicken with barely any mozzarella on top and sauce-was basically just clumpy sauce that you could tell was not homemade and simmering for a long time marinara... It was lousy. The salad was OK but the best thing I had was my iced tea... That's why I gave it two stars I definitely would never go there again... On top of it I paid a five dollar + tip and didn't get anybody once asking me if I wanted dessert or really doing anything worth for me to pay five dollars tip

I stopped for a lunch break at Ming Cheng on Pleasant Street, just south of the downtown area…read more Ming Cheng serves up the standard Chinese dishes, appetizers, and chef's specialties for takeout or dine-in. The prices here are pretty good, most items are priced under $11 with a few special dishes $11.05-$13.75. 25 Daily Combination Platters served with choice of rice and choice of one appetizer are offered for lunch ($5.55-$6.15) and dinner (after 3PM $7.45-$8.05). This is the typical order at the counter Chinese restaurant with self serve booth seating for eating in. The temperature in the dining/waiting area was on the very warm side. The kitchen area is not open, but visible through the revolving door. For takeout, I ordered the Lunch Combo 4: Shrimp Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice and 2 Chicken Teriyakis. The food was ready in under 10 minutes. The portion of food was a good amount. The lo mein noodles (light yellow) were soft and slightly overdone which had minimal vegetables (carrot & cabbage) and tender soft shrimp (cleaned). The lo mein dish had an unusual sweet taste. The pork fried rice (light tan) was decent, which had a mix of soft firm rice, egg, and tender roast pork cubes. The chicken teriyaki sticks were sweet tasting on the outside and the boneless chicken was chewy consisting of some yellow chicken fat, which I needed to trim off before eating. Overall, the lunch was filling, the price was reasonable (for lunch), and fairly decent and not bad. I may be back in here for lunch. NOTE: No checks accepted, but they accept MC and Visa.

I usually get the same thing, General Tso's Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and two Chicken Teriyaki sticks. I've seen a lot of people complaining about the Chicken on here, so I'm going to put my two cents in. As someone that gets it regularly I quite enjoy it, the sauce is definitely thicker than a lot of other places but it doesn't really bother me that much, it still tastes great! As for the Pork Fried Rice, overall it's got good flavor, can be a little dry from time to time and usually color wise it looks pretty dull but definitely a good option if you're not a fan of white rice. The Chicken Teriyaki is consistently good, it's always tender, moist and flavorful. Overall, although I'm not familiar with all of their food I'd definitely recommend going and trying it yourself!
