It was a hot, hot day in Vienna - around 33C, and blazing hot sun. We were at the nearby church, doing the tourist thing, when it became clear that a cold drink was needed immediately. Not ones to go to a typical touristy place, we decided to pop into Tchibo, a chain we knew from the UK and other parts of Europe.
This is a small Tchibo, but had the usual variety of things. I hadn't brought enough socks so I picked up a few pairs, and we sat in the café section and each had a nice cold Coke, and shared a piece of struedel. The service was nice, the air con worked, so we were happy. It also wasn't expensive, or aimed at tourists, so good overall.
They also let dogs in, so we had the entertainment of cooing over a couple very cute pooches :) read more
