Long story short:
Food is super unseasoned and dry - no sauces come with the dish for my fellow sauce girlies but i did ask for salsa verde on the side. Pretty place but uncomfortable seating. Staff is very unfriendly and not accessible.
Long story long -
Staff:
My friend and I decided to come in on a Saturday morning, not knowing we needed a reservation. After asking the hostess how long it would take to get a table at the bar she said around 55 mins to an hour. No problem honestly, since my friend hadn't arrived yet. However after she arrive, we continued waiting well past an hour. The hostest (same one that wrote my name down) came up us and asked "hi guys so what exactly are we waiting around for, is it a table or the bar or??" I let her know we've been waiting for a seat at the bar to open up for us. Another 20 mins go by and we finally get a seat at the bar.
Overall, during our meal the waitress was only present in the beginning to take the orders and then I never saw her again until she just slid the combined receipt down, silently letting us know to get up - even though we had only be there for maybe 40-45 mins at this point. She didn't ever come to ask how our food was, if we needed anything, if we wanted another drink, etc. Service was very disappointing.
Food:
Not a huge selection when it comes to wanting a savory brunch dish, honestly. My friend and i both went with the tbb122 breakfast plate and i asked for a side of some kind of sauce since i figured things weren't seasoned and thank goodness i asked ahead of time. If it weren't for the salsa verde on the side, it would truly be so bland. Very underwhelming when it comes to seasoning, plus didn't look like they had any hot sauce (which my friend wanted to ask for, but no one was around for us to ask).
Bakery:
I was excited to take home some pastries because above anything else, I had high hopes for them because they looked and smelled delicious. From the picture that I posted, i decided to get the cake that was labeled near seasonal galette and that's exactly what I asked for. Honestly, half my fault because i don't know what a galette is :) and when i got home and opened my box, it was obviously not the cake that i had mentioned beforehand. Some of the things weren't clearly labeled or labeled at all so be careful when ordering. Otherwise, I also purchased the morning bun and warmed it up when I got home. That was the only thing that was super delicious and would purchase again but i'm sure i can find it at another bakery closer to me.
In the end, the seats are uncomfortable, food is mediocre, and the staff is just not that friendly/accessible. The interior is super beautiful and so aesthetic, but it doesn't justify the above so most likely will not be back. I think the place would do better as just a cafe with better staff. read more
