I am an author and did not use my computer over the two week Christmas/New Years timeframe. When I unplugged my laptop to work remotely today, 1/12/26, a message came up stating I had no battery. I immediately brought my laptop back to Bhosted expecting my battery was on the shelf somewhere. Instead, they INSISTED someone else had been "in my computer" and "removed my battery". That is absurd!! No one was "in my computer"! Bhosted lost my battery, will not take responsibility, and refuse to replace it !! WARNING - DO NOT USE THEM! My computer was to old and they would no longer support it. If it was a newer generation they could replace the drive, for about $350. Well, John had no such problems. A few days later and for less than $200 I had my MacBook back and with a new solid state drive. Not only didn't I have to buy a new computer, but with an SSD in place of the old hard drive it was booting up faster and running smother than ever. Thanks Computer Guy!

Couldn't have been more informed! They even went above and beyond by helping my computer run cooler and being realistic with us that my computer was worth repairing. Pricing was VERY reasonable. Pickup was simple as ever. Will definitely be returning for service and have recommended them multiple times! Update- when I picked up my laptop I purchased a tempered glass for my iPhone 7 Plus. Was told lifetime warranty and paid a decent price which included them installing it for me. Fast forward 10 months- my tempered glass got cracked. Took my phone to the new location and was informed there was no lifetime warranty! Ah! But I gave a few details and Carl took my word for it. He then later found the information for the lifetime warranty and replaced my tempered glass without any fuss and super quick. Means a lot for them to not haggle over previous employees errors. And got something for my kids for a terrific price. Thanks again!!!

So, rather than throw the damn computer off a cliff, I dragged it over to Megabite. "Had I backed everything up regularly as I was supposed to?" Umm... well... uh... hmmm... maybe not so much. You know that look you got from your teacher when you tried the ole "dog ate the homework" excuse? You think he'd heard this stuff before. So I admitted that I was just going to lose some stuff because he was going to have to reload Windows 10. Deryck gave me the short version of the back-up lecture and added a program that saves everything in the cloud to my computer. Anyway, I got my fancy computer back the same day all fixed with the lovely coating of dust that I had been growing blown off and everything carefully wiped down with alcohol. I think he may have even waxed the top and sides. A very patient guy who goes over what he did and makes suggestions geared to your skill level. If you don't know much about computers he is willing to explain everything- so no panic! Done well, done quickly, and priced reasonably. What more could you want? Thanks guys.

A Comparison of Two Computer Services…read more I went in to Megabite today with an older HP computer that needed a new ethernet card. The tech in that store, Deryck Burnett, was exceptionally rude and condescending. It was made clear he did not have the part I needed, and he had no intention of ordering or installing it. I was told I overpaid for my computer- that it obviously isn't worth much. I tried to tell him it had simple duty as a basic tool for my 84 yo mother. He interrupted and said his mother is 80, "so that's not an excuse." He then found the part on Amazon and in a condescending manner, asked if I knew how to order things on my phone. I left with a piece of paper with the part I needed scribbled on it. The second tech in the store seemed to be willing to be helpful, but he wasn't encouraged to come forward. From there, I went to GoPC. I was greeted with smiles. I was informed that because they are down to one tech, Raymond, they were only accepting business accounts right now, but, "Let's see what we can do to help you." While the tech was working, I shared my experience with Megabite just minutes before. They did not seem surprised, just an exchange of glances between them. Within 15 minutes, my computer had its new Ethernet card and I was out the door. I will never forget either business. Thank you so much, GoPC, for stepping up during your lunch time in the middle of a very busy day. I really appreciate your humanity, pleasant attitudes, and help! I tried to send this review to their Facebook page; Reviews and Posts, but neither "took." I don't know if my phone has a glitch, or if Megabite turned off those options.
