I just wanted the milk stains on my drivers seat removed, nothing more, but most other businesses I called were quoting me over $175 for the work (saying they'd need to remove the seat to properly clean it) and trying to upsell other services I didn't need. Taz offered a reasonable rate for the exact work I wanted done, and he did a great job. He even shampooed both seats and washed the car as a complimentary add-on. There was a faint water stain on the passenger seat before, which I didn't mention to Taz, and now it's gone! I'm very happy with the service and will be back for future work. The only thing to be aware of is his shop is set up in a parking lot, so you will have to pay for parking as long as he's working on your car. But hey, if it helps keep his costs down, and he's able to pass that savings on to his customers, I'd say it's worth it! read more

TAZ did an excellent job in removing the carcass of a poor stray cat that was (unintentionally) killed while tucked away under my vehicle. He removed the front wheel removed and steam cleaned the entire undercarriage and cleaned the rest of car inside and out. Now I can get it serviced! After being on the road for about 500 miles the past 2 days, I thought it'd be a good idea to get a car wash. I found this place on Yelp so I gave them a call and asked if I could come in in 20 min. 15 min later, I show up with my friends (4 different cars including me) and I told them I was the person that just called. The guy working there rudely said in a condescending time: well you didn't speak to me but ok fine. I pull up my car and he asks me how I'm going to pay. I said cash if I have, if not credit. He makes it fill out a form with my name and phone number and asks me again how I'd like to pay.. I said credit. And that's when he asks me to pay $35 AHEAD of the wash. Not gonna happen buddy. I'm leaving my $100k car with you. The least you can do is to charge me AFTER you finish the job. Not before. This has never happened to me before. No one pays for a wash ahead. What if you're doing a shitty job? Go elsewhere. read more

I found Taz Auto Detailing on yelp, and although there was only one review, it was compelling enough for me to give them a shot. I have a 2008 Lexus Rx400h and I have never gotten it detailed. I don't even like waiting for my car to get an oil change, let alone the time it takes to properly get your car detailed. I wear a lot of dark denim, so my tab leather interior was turning blue. They did such an amazing job - the seats look brand new! All the swirl marks in the paint are gone. The cost to get the works was $275 - which is only $25 more than I've seen from other places that don't have the added service of coming to you so you don't have to wait or get a rental car. The only weird thing is that after the detailing was done, that's when I was told their credit card machine was broken and they could only take cash. Luckily I had a bunch of cash with me from not buying anything at the flea market, but normally this would have been a deal breaker. So be sure to ask upfront so there are no surprises. read more

Edit: talked to the owner. He is a good guy. Offered to redo the service for the car for free and even pick up the car. It's unfortunate that I picked up the car after business hours as it could all have been taken care of immediately. Suffice to say I'm bringing my car next time to Taz as I think this was just an honest fluke. Paid $200 for an inner detail and am incredibly disappointed. For $200 I expect high quality and attention to detail. But if you look at the pictures you'll notice that the job although finished was done quickly and without attention to detail. For example the floor was not vacuumed under the mats carefully. The center console was wiped quickly but without removing the gunk. All the cup holders and really anything that needed to be "opened" were not touched. This is about the level of cleaning I expect going through a carwash except it costs 4 times as much. It's hard to find a good detail place but this place is certainly not it. read more

If I purchase a set amount of CLEARLY LISTED services from you then I expect you to honor your word and actually PERFORM THE SERVICES PAID FOR. Not try to extort me after the fact. You tried to lie to me about the parking. You didn't perform the services promised. You took longer than you claimed it would. I dropped it off in the morning around 8 am yet it was still not done by 5:30 somehow? You were half paying attention to what you were cleaning with one hand while talking on the phone. You did a bad job cleaning the parts which you actually did work on. So bad that your customer had to finish up at home. And yet you can still claim I am the irresponsible one? Seriously? You sir are a liar and a cheat. ---- I came here for a detailing a while back. I had a groupon deal for a comprehensive detail. Dropped my car off early in the morning and was told to pick it up at the end of day. When I arrived the same guy I dropped my car off with was talking on the phone with one hand and wiping my car down with the other. No big deal I thought. I waited another 15 minutes for him to finish, he was on the phone the whole time. I walked around the car to inspect the job he had done. The windows were spotty, there were some dirty spots left around the car, he didn't bother to clean the wheel wells like promised, and he didn't do the engine wash as promised. On the inside it looked exactly the same as before but with a light vacuuming job. I asked if the seat leather had been conditioned and he said no. That's another promise that was not upheld, and it happened to be the primary reason I wanted to get my car detailed. When I had arrived in the morning I asked about parking and was told he could do half off for me. I was alright with that. When I got back he told me there was nothing he could do since the garage was not owned by him. I reminded him about his promise in the morning so he went to the attendant and paid half the price. For that I gave an extra star. In the end I had to rewash all the windows, vaccum inside, and clean/condition the leather seats myself. What the hell did I even pay for? read more

This hole in the wall, was kind of hard to find, it's underground in the parking garage. Let me tell you, my car has never looked this good, except when I first bought it! Amazing job they are right down the street from my house, needless to say I will defiantly be coming here again and again and again! They were very reasonable with the price and very friendly. Taz and Jermaine are such a find! They are located in the Civic Center garage, so you can leave your car with them while you get to work. Taz has tackled my husband's car before, it was so awful when I brought it in, I'm surprised he didn't turn me away today! This time Jermaine made his car look (and smell) like a new car. Plus he put the car seat covers on for us, which, if you've never done it, is a complete pain in the ass and pretty much impossible. It never would have happened without him. Really. There were a few glitches in my experience, but Lamonte was very caring and more than made up for it. I had booked an 8 am appointment online, but the business actually doesn't open until 8:30. Just something to be aware of. My appointment was for a steam engine cleaning; Lamonte did not only that but then did a detail wash of the exterior and interior of my car at no extra cost on top of that - just because I had waited for 15 minutes. DO be aware that you'll be asked to pay the garage parking fee on your way out (the city owns the garage). You should negotiate this in advance with Lamonte so you don't end up surprised by your parking garage extra fee. read more

Taz Auto Detailing is the best hidden treasure. If you have to be in the civic center 45min he can work his magic. I had some surface scratches that he removed perfectly and my car looked amazing. I have zero patience for waiting at the car wash and Taz Auto was perfect. I went and haggled with City Hall for an hour and he had everything ready to go in the parking structure. Yesterday I had my 2002 Jeep Wrangler detailed by Taz. It had been through 3 years of SF weather, surfing, snowboarding, sitting outside... It was in VERY rough shape. I don't know how they did it, but Taz made my Jeep look like it did when it rolled off the lot 16 years ago! It's fantastic! The paint looks great, the bumpers and wheel wells are like new, the soft top is completely restored and I can see through the plastic windows again!! The interior is also fantastic. It's clean, refreshed, just great. You'd never realize the abuse it's been through :) Thank you Taz for being a miracle worker with my Jeep. I love it again! read more

I've always had some difficulties trying to find an affordable basic hand wash since my car can't go through automatic washers; each place is either detailing or the hand wash is done terribly. Taz's is quick and easy to find, and prime location in the city for killing time. My car was done in about an hour and looked pristine from the usual caked up dirt and grime! You do have to prepay as well as pay for parking, which I didn't find to be an issue considering the garage is owned by the city. I'll definitely be back regularly. read more

Beware, I just got ripped off. After having my car detailed at TAZ all afternoon and being assured that my parking fee in the garage would be "taken care of" twice, and being charged $5 by TAZ for "validating" my parking (and I gave him a tip on top of it), I was told by the parking attendant upon exiting that I had to pay in full for parking. I argued that TAZ, who he had JUST spoken to, said he took care of it, and the attendant told me that I got burned and they made no such arrangement. So basically I just paid an extra $35 for this bullsh*t. I would have been happy to pay for parking if he would have just been honest rather than tarnishing his business' name over $5. What a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. I don't care how clean my car is, why the hell would anyone do such a thing? read more

They drive up in this van that has a highpressure hose, all the bells and whistles of the best detailing place and great customer service, a dying art in this world. Car was immaculate when done. Lamonte and his team did a great job on my car. I wanted the interior of my car thoroughly cleaned but didn't need the full interior detail. He was happy to take a look at the car and give me an estimate that turned out to be significantly lower than other places in the area. I mentioned that I was going to be selling the car and he immediately offered to clean up the engine as well to make the car more appealing to buyers for no extra charge. Again, the gentleman cleaning the car was nice, but the job was not thorough even after I pointed out problem areas. I will not be coming back. April 2016 review: Came to Taz on a weekday for a full interior and exterior detailing, but was unimpressed with the level of cleaning on the interior. It came out more like a general wipe-down. The interior was poorly done even after I physically pointed out each area to focus on to the technician prior to leaving. For example the center console, seats marks, and pen stains -- none of the stains/dirt were removed. The worst part is that the stains were only 1 day old from the night before when we had a break-in into the car. Wasn't worth $225 in my opinion. read more
