Taylors Rocks for Men! I moved from Washington State all the way to New Jersey. I had the same person cut my hair in Washington for 10 years. When I moved here I did not have much success for 3 months finding someone to cut my hair the way I like. I am a sales professional and am in front of hundreds of people a week. I walked into Taylors and was greeted as if I was the only person in the shop. I was introduced to Keith and showed him how I want my hair cut. His confidence and professionalism exuded! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon. I was a walk In a few days before a holiday so I asked if there was time for just a trim. I was prepared to hear they were booked or even to wait a while but I was told to have a seat and only waited about 10 minutes. The woman who washed my hair was wonderful and very friendly however the hair dresser, Karen, was quite the opposite. Once I was seated she walked up to the chair and didn't even acknowledge that I was there while she finished her drink. I asked for a 1" trim. The entire time she worked in my hair she was very distracted, she was also extremely rough in brushing and clipping the sections while she cut. Needless to say I was anxious for the entire experience to be done. $33 for the haircut $7 tip and home I went only to learn that my simple trim was completely uneven. I will not ever use this salon again. read more

First, this is in Washington Township, so do not expect over-the-top, super friendly reception when you walk in the place... it's a Township thing. Second, if you need an amazing transformation, ask for an appointment with Tina. Years ago, I brought my older daughter in for blue highlights under her blonde hair (I'm sure there is a technical term for it, but I'm a mom not a hairstylist!). This was originally done by someone else at the salon and did not turn out right, so Tina fixed it. This began my complete trust in this woman. I then brought my younger daughter in for purple throughout her hair and Tina did an awesome job with that. Additionally, she engaged in conversation with my daughter and when we left, she had a huge smile on her face (my daughter has social issues). A few months ago, my daughter wanted an edgy cut and of course, we made our appointment with Tina again! The cut was very specific and had to be meticulous because of the shaved side. I used to just go to Hair Cuttery because they were cheap and my daughter never left completely satisfied, so I wasn't going in with high expectations... but how silly of me. Tina KILLED IT, and I mean that in a very good way! The cut was gorgeous and it showed off the highlighted area she had done before to dye her hair purple (by the way, when my daughter did get the purple dye before, we were there for a few hours because Tina had to bleach out the sections to dye them, so for the person who complained about taking so long... if you want it done right, you gotta expect it to take time. Everyone's hair reacts differently). Anyway, yes there are a few stylists I would say to avoid in this place, and yes, if you're not used to Township people you might feel a bit slighted walking in, but if you need a great cut and awesome highlights/lowlights/blue underhair dye/conversation/compliments and so on... ask for Tina! We will not let anyone else touch our hair now. read more

Walked in a few days ago the lady at the counter asked what I needed. I said a hair cut. She was on the phone and asked me to wait in a seat I sat down and and she must have forgot about me because she took two more calls for appointments. In other words people who are going to spend money at a later date and time. Instead of taking care of a new client who was spending money right now. Nobody ever as hello or greeted me. Not even tried to stop me when I started to walk out. I guess they only care about people who will spend money at a later date and time not the people who will spend money that were there right then. I don't think I will be back unless they reply to this and ask me to come back. I did not feel welcome at all. I went to hello gorgeous and was greeted as soon as I walked in. Worst stylist ever! I booked my appointment a week ahead of time for a partial highlight and a trim and asked if it will only take 2 hours. I was there for 3 hours! They stylist Tina talked about herself the entire time and never even asked how I was. She didn't listen to the directions I gave her to cut my hair into a LOB - Long Bob, instead she just wanted to chop away! I'm mortified to be walking around in public right now. It looks as though my 17 month old took the scissors and chopped my hair. If I could have her arrested I would, b/c my hair looks like a major crime scene. I called the owner and he was understanding and more than willing to help fix it, but honestly I don't ever want to step a foot in the salon again. The stylist should have her license taken away from her! trying to post pics, but not sure how to do it but I think its definitely worth you all to see this! read more

I was referred to Taylor's, was told to make an appointment w/ Andy. I can honestly say, that Andy did an amazing job! I've NEVER automatically been in love w/ a haircut/style in my life until Andy. I ALWAYS go home & Redo my hair because the stylist was too Lazy to style my hair properly. I am happy to say that I have found my salon & stylist ! I only will see Andy when I go here, he's very knowledgeable & honest, really good with styling, cutting, and makeup. If he is busy I will see Dana for coloring she did a balliage on me one summer and I've never had highlights that looked that good since. I wish they would invest in an answer machine though, I work a lot and I don't get to do errands sometimes until very late at night or very very early so it's difficult to cancel appointments. The vagaro system they use to remind u by text of ur apt only allows me to confirm my apt not cancel it. I would like to have the option of both on that text message to either confirm or cancel. I called at 8:30am to cancel my apt and got no answer just rang and rang so had to call again when they opened to cancel. I came back to Andy to help me fix what Hair Revaltions did to me, I once had long thick layered hair down to my boobs it is now a shoulder length Bob, I will never go to Hair Revelations again. My wife received a gift card for Christmas from this place but found out that the Stylist she wanted to go to was no longer there. I called and asked if she could bring back the card and get the cash for that reason and was told yes. Upon my arrival a man was behind the counter playing on his cell phone and for 2 minutes didn't even acknowledge my presents. Colleen the receptionist came behind the counter an asked if she could help me. I told her my situation and she referred me to the man behind the counter, the owner, the man still on his phone. When Colleen told him what I wanted to do. He looked up in discust like he was being bother, smirked and said " Ok ". I said thank you for doing this. He said " I normally wouldn't but I like to make people happy". All the time saying this with extreme attitude. THIS MAN IS NASTY, IGNORANT AND MEAN AND IS THE POSTER CHILD FOR A RICH PERSON WHO DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS CLIENTS, YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE WHO MADE HIM RICH. I am writing this while frantically searching for a new salon to fix what this shit show did to our hair. I booked appointments the day before for both my mother and myself, explaining that my mother needed a single process color, cut and blow dry, while I wanted my ombre touched up (it had started getting brassy which is normal on naturally dark brown hair over time) a cut and blow dry. We arrived 15 minutes early where I was immediately told that the stylist I was booked with 'didn't do ombre'. The manager came over and literally pawed through my hair, pulling at pieces and trying to tell me that I couldn't have ash blonde because of my natural color (umm... then how have I always gotten ash blonde ombre for the past 4 years at my old hometown's salon?? They go ash blonde knowing my hair gets brassy very quickly which is what I was trying to do here) I asked if I could switch to the stylist booked at the same time for my mother and was told he didn't have the time. Mom and I exchanged worried looks but since she needed her grey covered for an interview this week and I start a new job tomorrow (just moved here)...we didn't have much choice. For some reason our stylists were still switched and we explained to our respective stylists what we wanted. I needed to be toned (since they didn't have time to do what I had actually booked -_-) and my mom needed her dye resistant grey dealt with. After watching a girl run out fighting tears because her stylist yelled at her over a scheduling issue made by the front desk...oh and taking a regular client who was late before this brand new client... our stylists came back with dye. We both were rushed rushed rushed, including painful hair brushing and slathering on dye with their hands. No color book to talk with us about our options, no plastic caps, no wiping off dye that got on our skin and no time under the dryers. Both stylists ran to other clients (to give u an idea, it took 7 minutes to have dye applied to shoulder length hair before going to the next client). We then got washed, where neither of us had conditioner used??? and when my head went back in the sink, the girl said ' oh so we were just getting you back to your natural color today?' Um no! Mom's hair was almost red instead of her medium brown (with a distinct line where the dye wasn't pulled through her ends) and mine was now all dark brown. So the ombre that I spent multiple appointments and hundreds of dollars to get back home was now gone in 30 minutes. We decided they were in no way cutting our hair after the way they ruined the dye jobs so we said we were running late and only got our hair dried. Again with the pulling and yanking with brushes! We both left with scratch marks on our foreheads from the round brushes used. Both stylists attempted to explain why they did the dye the way they did (even though we hadn't complained) so obviously they knew something was wrong. We paid, ran outside and cried in my car after how awful the whole experience was. Rude, unorganized, unproffessional, rushed, incorrectly done, and painful! This was yesterday and we both woke up with STRAW for hair. Allegedly they used conditioning color (which I doubt if they couldn't be bothered to even wash our hair with conditioner) but our hair feels exponentially worse than it ever has in our lives. My mom is anti-confrontational which is why I'm writing this when I really want to go back there and scream at them in person. You can fuck up my hair and I'll just hate you, never go back, and tell everyone I know what happened... but to mess up my mom's hair to the point where she lost confidence is absolutely unacceptable.
