I have been shopping here for more than 4 years; usually purchasing separates and jewelry. MJ is a small boutique in Haddonfield that offers upscale trendy and some signature clothing and jewelry. Simplistically decorated and designed with the items being the main focus of the boutique. Great dual window displays envelope the entrance of the store. Usually once you enter the store there are clearance racks on the left and right side offering at least 25%+ discounts. The range of prices for many of the regular priced items range from mid-higher end cost that are quite affordable for some staple pieces that can remain in your wardrobe for several years while some are just seasonal. Right in front of you is a table with either shirts, sweaters, scarves, pants, etc. and half body mannequins adorned with the latest fashionable top accented with jewelry. The shop offers 2 dressing rooms with full length mirrors as well as there is one outside of the dressing room which is massive near the check out counter. Each time I go to MJ I find some lovely item to mix and match with an article of clothing I already own. Today was not exception, as I purchased a black, gold and silver metallic-like top with cropped sleeves to be worn to an upcoming function. Can't say enough about Maxwell James as it is a lovely woman-owned small boutique. Would highly recommend and I will continue to stop in from time to time to select a few pieces to spruce up my wardrobe.

The prices start low and can get pretty steep but worth it. Throughout the store the items sold are made by small businesses from around the globe. It's a relationship the offers the workers/owners a fair price for their goods. This is important for independence and in many cases survival. On each shelf or hanger there is a story. Most items come with information about the artist or business owner. The owner of this store enthusiastically touts information about all of the items. Her zeal, passion and friendliness is another reason to stop by. My purchase was a beautiful blouse made in Thailand and a small change dish made in Kenya. The prices were more than fair and I'm enjoying my purchase. The shopping experience gave me a feel good moment. Would I shop here again? For sure!

To get into Garden State Plaza on a Saturday night, well, having grown up in Bergen County, I probably just wouldn't try. And forget trying to park. My son and I arrived at approximately 8p on a Saturday night. To our surprise, we were able to just park, right by a mall entrance. We assumed it must be closing. It wasn't- it was open until pm. We came in by what looked like a giant arcade. We didn't go in but it looked cool. It looked like a good place for teens to go, maybe? The mall itself was clean, spacious, and has a lot of stores. I expected a dead mall since we were able to just park easily like that. There is a nice food court, a loose candy store, trendy clothing stores that teens like to shop in, etc. There is even a children's theater (like acting type theater, not movie), which is small, but seems like it would be a cool thing. I have no idea what people would be doing in that area if you're not from there - we were there for a swim meet at Gloucester Institute of Technology and it was close to there and where we were staying. So I'm going to say that if there are other colleges around, it seems like maybe we were near Rowan University in Glassboro, it would be a nice, nearby mall with easy access, especially if parents came, just for somewhere to go walk around, or if they wanted to buy their kid something. There are so many other big box stores around too but I remember when my mom would visit me at Rider, we'd go to Quakerbridge Mall sometimes just to walk around. Deptford Mall is a good size- I'd say more stores than Shops at Riverside (Riverside Square #iykyk), but less than Garden State Plaza. Maybe around the size of Paramus Park or a little bigger.
