Indeed, Dr. Briseno spends a lot of time with his patients, however, much of that time is spent on him typing and talking into his little recorder, or taking a call from "his neighbor", or discussing his military service. Had he given our concerns a minute of attention, he might have discovered that my husband was indeed very ill. The fact that many reviewers comment on Dr. B's military service and the amount of time he spends with patients explains why he didn't have time when it was my husband's turn to see him.

He personally calls you on the phone if labs or tests come back with something he needs to discuss immediately instead of having a nurse call you to setup up another appointment. He was the Physician on call at Gulf Coast Hospital. He took excellent care of my husband during his stay there. We both thought he was very thorough and caring. We've been his patients ever since. We interviewed other concierge practices in the Lee/Collier vicinity and it was apparent in the 1st meeting that we were a perfect fit. We couldn't be more pleased with his exceptional, professional and thorough care. While we are very healthy 69 and 70 yr. olds, unexpected things occur. As exceedingly careful as we have been throughout this pandemic, we were exposed to and contracted Covid-19. When my condition deteriorated to a very concerning level, my husband called Dr. Tritel who immediately responded and intervened. He assessed the conditions my husband was explaining over the phone, and calmly and with absolute conviction advised my husband to call 9-1-1 to get me to the hospital immediately. I was admitted, diagnosed with double pneumonia and with Dr. Tritel's intervention and constant communication with the hospital and my husband, received the utmost care and the Remdesivir treatment and Convalescent Plasma through the clinical trial in place between the hospital and the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Tritel was pro-active in seeking these treatments on my behalf. We are 100 percent convinced this would not have occurred without Dr. Tritel. While he will not take credit for saving my life, I am stating for you in this review that is very much the case. We were beyond pleased with our relationship with Dr. Tritel prior to this life changing experience; we are now beyond grateful to Him for his dedication to his patients and our care. However, the office manager, Alma threatens patients to pay in advance before they are able to see Dr. Adkins. Alma knows most insurance has a lower 'allowable amount' than what they charge for an office visit. We had to call over ten times to get her to file the claim with our insurance early this year. Alma only spoke with us the first time and then refused to talk with us afterwards. I guess she got annoyed with our persistence and finally filed the claim 2 months after date of service. My husband just went back last month (June 2017) and again and Alma made the same threat. We stopped the credit card charge and called her to explain that we have 100% coverage and why the same day of service. She is not well versed with health insurance because she does not know what the difference between an HRA and HSA plans. She threaten to report us to collection agency. I told her that was inappropriate for her to say, especially since our insurance will pay 100% and the service was just today. She got emotional and I asked for Dr. Adkins to call us directly but never received a call. My husband went back in person to ask and still no call. We have his cell # but at this point if he wants to allow this cancer to exist in his practice, we will have to find another physician. Beware - and know your insurance benefits before you agree to pay upfront. There are likely many patients who are not as fluent with insurance as I and have been taking advantage of.
